  1. nothing fancy, just male to male cables (getting harder to find, a lot of male to female and female to male cables come up first), here is cheapest one listing on ebay (Hong Kong) but there is others available:

3.5mm is the standard size for headphones, that's what you want.
Will this one work? I'd rather buy one from the UK even if its more expensive:

  2. I used mini-stereos since college to pump sound from my game systems and computers via audio phono jacks.  My setup involved a A/V multi-switch that feeds the audio sound to my stereo and the composite video output gets sent to a Commodore monitor I picked up at a thrift store.  Game sounds & music sound so much better coming out of stereo speakers (w/ bass boosters) than just through the CRT or even small computer speakers.

Nowadays all my modern stuff is hooked up to my flatscreen, which sounds pretty good but someday I like to get a soundbar for the extra bass.
It gets so complex I wouldn't know where to begin. Like I said I have about 80 consoles and 10 tvs so I have the space! I might get this stereo that the other poster has recommended

  3. Cheers for that that's great I think I'll get one for myself. Do you have a recommendation for the cable from the TV to the speakers? I have a lot of scart cables from retrogamingcables and some include a splitter (my neo geo and ps1 definitely have one.) I'm hoping my hydra scart splitter has an audio out.

  4. There are adapters to tap out sound from SCART, some multitaps have sound out, or you can use the jack output of your TV. a B&O may even have RCA out for your to tap out the sound (usually on the back).
I have a hydra scart adaptor. Hopefully that will have sound out (I expect it does.) Amy recommendations for a speaker setup?

  5. That's such a useful post thanks so much. Will the compatability depend on what output my crt has? For example I have a b&o beovision 1 and I'm in the UK. All my outputs are scart so will I require a separate breakout cable do you think? Do you plug and unplug cables separately depending on what console you want connected to it? Also what's the model number? I may look for something similar.

  6. Hi all. I am a retro console collector and I have about 90 systems but I still consider myself a bit of an amateur when it comes to setups. I have about 5 crts and the various inputs for all the consoles, but I have always wondered about the options for sound. Should I be looking to improve the sound from my consoles with a speaker system or is it fine as it is through the TV? If you think that improving the sound output is important then what do you suggest? Thanks in advance.

  7. Oh yeah, I forgot one other console I don't have a flash device (or at least all in one multicart) for is the Atari 7800. I heard SOMEONE might make one of those eventually...

I have Watara Supervision to Dreamcast... 7800 is badly needed.
I might be the only one but I'm still holding out hope one day for some more obscure offerings. I want an ode solution for my pcfx, Bandai playdia and cdi. I could be waiting a while!

  8. I truly hope that my data won't be transmitted to other sellers. In Europe we still have privacy laws.
I will not give permission to pass away my email, my paypal address or my address.
Wow. Go and get your product from the reseller, there's no plan to release your details to anyone.

  9. Hi just one question.. for the ones that we did preorder long time ago. We are going to receive first from RetroHQ or we need to purchase at nominated shops. If the preorder list continue existring can you tell me my position.

He's said he is going to send out a small number himself before they are sold through the shops. If you login to your retrohq account you can see your preorder number.

  10. I incorrectly posted this in the Lynx GD thread yesterday. I'll try again, in the right thread this time... !

    ======

I'm sorry, this has gotten rather confusing.

The situation is that I will ship *some* (I don't know how many, 50, 100, really not sure!) carts myself as I just want to be sure everything is working perfectly with the new firmware update system. Once I'm happy with this, they will be sold via resellers only.

It's a pain trying to "transfer" any pre-orders due to data protection, so it's probably best bet to just sign up to AA as well even if you have an active order with me. You wont accidentally get two, or be charged without contact, so don't worry about that.

The plan (as ever) is to produce products in enough volume that all these pre-orders and waiting lists are a thing of the past. I will be at this point shortly with the NeoPocket cart, and others will follow.

It's been a rather long and protracted journey to get to this point, but as ever, things are moving in the right direction.

Superb thanks. I'll assume as I'm 26th on the list that I'll get one from you. I'll sign up to AA anyway just in case even though I'm in the UK. Thanks.

  11. I've been chatting with them all on and off for a LONG time now, but finally everything is converging. A good bunch of people for sure!
Hi SainT. Looking at the original preorder list, there are just 25 people ahead of me in the queue. Do you think it's likely that you will be honouring that list or would I be better off checking dragon box or stone age gamer to get one?

  12. Yeah, US and EU is the general plan.

I may or may not cover UK and possibly any other rest-of-world stuff not covered by others. If it doesn’t prove too much work. I’m trying my best to give myself the ability to spend my time doing useful things like new products and expanding current products (like the fabled Jag CD support).
Do you consider it likely that you'll create a new preorder list and dump the old one? I just need to know if I need to start checking this thread and your twitter every day again!

I mentioned this on Twitter a while ago, it looks like quite a few people have paired numbers. If people placed the order in the same second, they seem to get the same number on the email. So there’s been like two 4’s then the next person has 6. But this is just related to the email, the actual order number is the order things are dealt with in. :)

Yeah but I was first right? :)
