  1. The cartridge image is on the CD. If you explore the CD's contents, you'll find a j64 file that you can copy off the CD.

Wow I was not aware of this! I will have to look through my download for the rom/cart version

I totally forgot to go back in on the sale and scoop these up. I actually have the legit 4 pack all sealed still on my shelf (Alice/Elansar/Philia/Yopaz) and haven't opened them and have 2 of the 4 purchased as ISO downloads from the site last year but hadn;t heard of Zia (too bad it's not for the Jag CD) and am still yet to try out Yopaz Ice Star

  2. I have seen those and like the look of them! But I keep my Jag CD on there and would prefer not to have to take it off to install this cover. Would be sweet if there was an option to get one with a Jag CD on top! I know they sell ones with a pocket on top for a 32X add on to the Genesis so if they had something like that for the Jag I'd be all over it! Would save getting dust into those side vents on the Jag, otherwise the Jag shell is pretty smooth and easy to wipe any dust off of, but the vents are where it can be hard to clean if left out too long.

  3. tempest 2000 for the Jaguar is the definitive version for sure. I have played the Saturn version, which was not that bad. X3 on the PS1 also is decent but not as good as the Jaguar version.

The WORST has to be Tempest 3000 on the Nuon, that is so damn blurry and psychadelic I could never get into it. Also pissed me off that there was no high score save option on the Nuon so you lose everything when you turn the system off. I know Memory Cards were in the works for the Nuon. But when systems pre-Nuon had even the slightest built in memory to them and the Nuon is a gigantic DVD player in size, I feel they could have thrown a damn memory chip in there somewhere!

  4. Not sure if your still looking for more credible info on this (The screen used in that individuals video is from Rebellion's PC AVP so totally different format and developer than anything planned for the Jaguar), but here's a P.R statement from Beyond Games in Autumn 1995:

First, I'm sorry to report, there are no immediate plans to do

BattleWheels for the Jag. However, a fully networked version of

BattleWheels for the PC _is_ in the early stages of development. I

wouldn't be surprised to see it ported to the Jag after it's released, but the PC version will come first.

Second, No final deal on AvPII has been struck. That doesn't mean we're not going to be doing it, but that it won't get out of the planning stages until contracts are signed, etc.

Final contracts were never signed as Atari merged with JTS.

Well damn, Battle Wheels on the Jaguar could have been pretty dope! I have my original Jag I bought at Kaybee Toys in 1995 and on the back there was that screenshot of Battle Wheels to be a future released game and the screen pic was so cool! I like Battle Wheels on the Lynx but it is so damn pixilated, it would be nicer to play it on the Jag on a much larger screen with better graphics if possible. That's too bad there are no plans for it per your post above.

  5. I put up a wanted ad in the wanted section incase anyone has one for sale. I figure someone will probably have a working one if I cannot figure this one out. Somewhat running out of options aside from assuming it is the capacitors, but without knowing how to fix/solder them I wouldn't be able to test those

  6. I'm at work right now so I'll try it later but I know I tried leaving the AV cable in the Genesis and then the 32X plugged in and a game inside and I got a black screen. But when I ran the AV cable through the 32X I got a few dashed/diagonal lines scrolling across the screen. But I will have to try it again with and without the power cable to see the results. I tried so many configurations I just couldn't remember them all!

I know that the Genesis is attached to the Sega CD and I threw in Corpse Killer (the CD/32X version) and without the 32x attache dt specifically said on the screen "This game is meant to be used with the 32x" and wouldn't work at all. When I plugegd the 32X into the top of the genesis and tried that game again it started and worked (so I know it's registering there is a 32X on there) but then it only showed the borders on that game and you could hear the video talking but not see ANY of the video or images. SO It lead me to believe something is causing the 32X not to output video properly.

  7. I didn;t see any switches installed on it, but there are some wires going from the flat board and to the one that goes down into the Genesis part at the bottom (red, yellow, black, blue) but from other pictures I've seen of other open 32X units it looks the same. Only thing I noticed looked different than other pictures I saw of 32X insides was that mine has a copper wire spun heat core looking thing I assume regulates the heat inside of the unit.

  8. Inside of the unit looked clean as if never opened before. I cannot see any leaking capacitors but I am not sure exactly what to look for but I imagine it would be easy to see. It probably is a capacitor issue since I cannot see anything else inside that is wrong at all. I get some images but that is only from the Sega CD but then anything from the 32X just doesn't output at all and all all of the cables are connected properly. I wish I knew how to solder and fix capacitors!

On the passthrough issue that definitely is odd since all the connections seem clean and the Genesis games work fine in the Genesis but it is just a black screen when trying to passthrough and that made me think it was a chip issue.

  9. Alright I bought a whole setup while out of town during the holidays last week (Genesis model 2, Sega CD model 2, and 32X console) and am having issues with a Sega 32X and am trying to confirm if the thing is just straight dead or fixable and what to actually check.

The Genesis console is a Model 2 and works fine with Genesis games, and when plugged into the Sega CD, the CD unit works just fine and Genesis games are fine as well. There appears no issues with the Genesis or CD units at all.

Now when I plug in the 32X and try to use it as a passthrough (regular genesis games) I get a black screen, no sound, nothing at all regardless if I have the cables to the 32X hooked up properly through the 32X or through the Genesis. When I plug the AV cable into the 32X to the TV I do get a bunch of scrambled sideways lines but no video and no sound. That is when using a Genesis game in the 32X with all the cables hooked up properly.

With the Genesis on the CD unit and the 32X in the Genesis, I have tried the 32x/CD combo games and I get the regular images to show up but ANY moving images (which are likely to come from the 32X since that is what is to boost the images to 32X color) I get nothing, so the images do not even show up at all. With the 32x/CD combo games you need a 32x installed for the games to load and they do LOAD so it is registering there is a 32X on there, it's just the issue with any moving images/video not showing up, as if the 32X just will not output any video (perhaps the chip is bad?)

It is as if something is wrong with the video processor or image chip or whatever there is in the 32X. How to even test that???

Have already used alcohol and qtips to thoroughly clean the cartridge slot on the 32X that goes into the Genesis, have used an air can to blow out the AV in and AV out sockets on the 32X, I have taken the 32X apart multiple times (5-6 times at least) and checked for any rust or any dust or anything loose and see no issues inside, and I have also yanked out both white ribbon cables and wiped them clean and reseated them as well.

Any suggestions would be great! I just have no idea what else to test or if there is a way to confirm if something is blown or if I should just scrap it and find another one. I don;t know how common it is for these to just go bad over time or if the caps are bad or the video processor or chip is bad. I did buy it for $35 at a game store with the power adapter and the Genesis to 32X cable and it was untested even at the shop since they did not have any 32x games.

  10. I recently bought a used Sega 32X and cannot get it to work properly, the images are scrambled and it will not work at all as a passthrough. So I am looking for a used and WORKING 32X unit if anyone has one available. I don't need the cables as I already have them but perhaps my issue is even the Genesis to 32X adapter cable but I doubt that is the problem. Let me know if any of you have one for sale!

  11. Pinball Fantasies was my jam as a kid. I actually played that game the most during my early years with the Jag and played it until I eventually packed the Jag to go to college. Only recently due to emulation did I find out it's also a game available for the SNES. I recommend Pinball Fantasies over Ruiner Pinball.

  12. Do you play TC with a Pro Controller?

I sold the game a while ago so I no longer have it. I now own a Pro Controller but don;t have that game to test it out. But the game itself was hard in general as it is super long and with all the baddies coming at you, it seems like without a cheat code it would be impossible to beat it!

  13. Yeah mine is surely cheapo compared to that OSSC thing. Mine was like $15, but it allowed me to enjoy the Jag on a big screen which was great, even if some fuzzy around the edges. I went though an entire 32 team season on NBA Jam TE on that TV and really enjoyed it. Also played a full season of Troy Aikman as well.

  14. It all depends on HOW you are connecting it to your TV.

I usually play on my JVC DTV monitor, but when I play on the big TV (Samsung 65" 4K) I go through the OSSC and it looks real nice.

    Sharp and clean.

If you're using a cheap Chinese upscaler, well... you get what you pay for :)

You said AV to HDMI. As in composite?

yeah AV as in composite to HDMI. Looks decent on a 65 plasma, just a little fuzzy aorund the edges. It is an Amazon upscaler but nothing fancy. I didn't know what OSSC was but I assume that's probably some sort of upscaler? I'm not good with the acronyms, it took me a while to figure out why people kept putting "iirc" and then I finally figured out what that meant after a while

  15. I have yet to try my Jaguar on an LCD, but I seem to see it all the time in pictures of people doing it, probably because it is too heavy to lug around a CRT. I'd be curious to know if it looks good or all pixilated when plugged into an LCD. I have an AV to HDMI adapter and put it on a 65 inch Plasma and it looks pretty nice but still fuzzy around the edges.
