I guess I need to go find someone else who wants to play Jaguar with me!
-
Am I the only one that felt Total Carnage was damn near impossible to beat? I could only do well on the MAME emulator with unlimited quarters. Otherwise you just die too much!
-
I agree, I have tried BS a few times, I just couldn't get itno it and I love space shooter games. But this one was just not my cup of tea.

That's actually a good question. If the skunk can't play Battlesphere I wonder if the SD cart can run it. Something makes it not load as with the Another World ROM I have too. But maybe they will load on the SD cart. Now of that's the case then that would be pretty awesome!

This looks amazing. Similar to the Faceball games!

I do believe it was multiple times you have shot down my comments about the skunk, I think I remember it in some other threads. It's ok and I'm not mad so don't take it that way, it may not be for everyone. But I personally love the heck out of it! For me the only benefit to the SD cart at this point would be to not have to flash a game every other time I want to play it. I personally don't mind having to flash it as my computer it right next to the Jag for me. I guess I'd only really be losing the high score save option which for me is fine as I play my games solo and don't have anyone over to play Jag with me to need to show off my scores. I do agree with the OP paying the shit out of the carts he has at this time tho! Pending price of the SD cart if you can wait then for sure snag the SD cart when it comes out. For someone that already has a skunk, it may not necessarily be worth it to get the SD cart if you've already made the investment in the skunk.

If you are desperate to try out every game for the most part including most homebrews, the skunkboard is your best friend until the SD cart comes out. I likely will stick with the skunkboard in the meantime vs spending the extra cash on the SD cart since I don't mind loading up a different game now and then anyways (it holds 2 on it). The SD cart is not yet available and when it is there will be a massive waitlist for that so even then it will be some time to have access to buy one I imagine, since there are a lot of people now getting interested in the Jaguar console. Look into that and you won't be disappointed. The only downside to the skunkboard is that it does not save high scores wheras the SD cart is going to allow that. But if you're not a high score junky then it doesn't matter. In this day and age I have so many games and so many systems I wouldn't be playing Jaguar for hours upon hours to work towards the highest of scores or have any buddies over to play it with me as I did in the 90s so I don;t have a need to show off my high scores to anyone. But I digress, welcome to the Jaguar brotherhood and enjoy one of the GREATEST systems ever created!

Brand New Atari Jaguar Pro Controllers- For Sale!
UHATEIT replied to Starwander's topic in Atari Jaguar
Are these also going to be for sale on your eBay store too? As in possibly single units? I hate being that guy and say it all the time. I was interested during the preorder but the. Got a real one in the wild so I'm only out for 1 of them right now and I know they are sold in pairs. I bought from your eBay store back when you were in Colorado. -
I found the game very difficult and I would imagine almost impossible to beat without some sort of code for lives on the Jaguar. I was only able to get far and eventually beat it by playing it on the MAME emator where you can keep hitting select for unlimited tokens and therefore I never had to worry about a game over. I couldn't imagine it to be beatable on the Jag with the # of lives given.

I'll have to give the Shockwave codes a try. That game pissed me off I found different variations of the codes on different pages and I could not get the invincibility code to work. That game ses crazy hard once you get to the Las Vegas level so I can't get beyond that! The game is actually really fun and I'd like to burn through it and the sequel but there isn't enough energy/shield/life to survive all the damn attacks and beat the levels for me.

3DO Fz-1 Internal Fan issue
UHATEIT replied to SergeantSalmon's topic in 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
Is the fan making excessive noise? My fan rins the whole time the system is on at least on my FZ-1 model. When mine seemed to be having what I thought were heat and didc reading issues I took the 4 screws out of the bottom and removed the top shell for it to breathe. It seemed to freeze less and read discs better without issues so I assumed there was an internal heat issue -
That Logitech boomerang shaped one looks awesome (above in the 2014 post)

Agreed stop the rants. You're either going to get it or you're not we can't make up your mind for you

Atari Jaguar Composite Monitor Video Cable Broke.
UHATEIT replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Atari Jaguar
I need to learn how to solder and pull my plug apart to fix it. I have a guy that wants to buy my spare Jaguar and I can't bare to give him just the RF so I want to let him have the AV cable to get a better connection and need to fix that shiz! -
Very true. You can adjust them to those other settings. I wasn't sure what you post but for me the way the ABC was organized seemed the most logical for the XYZ usage. Some of the configs I thought wtf who would do that!
-
Alright I just plugged my Pro Controller in and Battlesphere and here is a screen shot of the Pro Controller settings in Joyspad Setup. Looks like it's Left Roll and Right Roll and then Z is weapon - Y is pickle and X is weapon +.
-
Props man for making this thread, it will save many questions about the controllers as you say which are "on the horizon." Since I have a real Pro Controller already I'll have to check some of these out. I guess as an ad in there is that ABS file for Doom that also allows for straffing left and right, tho that's not an original game and is just the skunk version that is accessed in. I also heard that the shoulder buttons allow shoving on Barkley Shut Up and Jam but I cannot confirm that. If someone can confirm that then it can be added too!
-
I'm going to give that a try tonight then! Thanks for the info! I assume that your game does NOT come with a scrambled up High Score table (literally a bunch of scrambled numbers and letters) so I imagine there is something corrupted in my Memory Track or on the board that was causing that. I believe that Impulse X allows Memory track support for the high scores.

Oh wow that a gnarly piece of metal there. I inspected mine last night and wiped it with a q-tip. It does register my saves for Battlemorph thank god since i was super far into the game, but STILL Braindead 13 does not register the save, pisses me off since that game is pretty hard and I made it almost to the end and had to turn it off (to work) and when I start the game there s the option for NEW GAME or CONTINUE and the continue option just doesn't do anything. Jag games are often incomplete so maybe that function was never activated. Perhaps someone else with Braindead 13 can start a game and save it with their memory track, turn off the system and then try to continue where it left off?
-
That sounds like my issue for sure. I can access the storage, but there are times if I jiggle the cart the screen goes black with green lines then will show up again. Also it will freeze when trying to access Alice's Mom's rescue save point, but also not do anything when I select Braindead 13, and then on Impulse I do get the corrected/scattered text in the high score section like you mentioned.
-
When I say not a connection issue, I guess I mean that when I power on the Jag and hold OPTION it goes to the memory Track manager screen and shows that the saves are on there. They just aren't working or loading when I try the to load on those 3 games. I have some saves for games like Robinson's Requiem and almost to the end of BattleMorph I'll have to test out to see if those load. I'd really like to beat BatleMorph but am stuck towards the end and would hate to lose the ability to access that save point too!

I was playing some of the CD games I have that use the Memory Track this last weekend and have confirmed by starting the system and holding OPTION to see what was actually on the Memory Track's internal memory. I confirmed I have a save point for Alice's Mom's Rescue but when I put in the CD and hit the "continue" option the screen just goes black and nothing loads. I also played fairly far into Braindead 13 and then saved the game, confirmed the memory track has the save on it and when I tried to get back into the saved game which on Braindead 13 there is the option for Start New or Continue at the title screen, it just won't load anything under "Continue" which should be to return to the saved game. The last one I noticed was on Impulse X in which I confirmed I have a bunch of saved options on the Memory Track (screen settings, sound settings, high scores, etc.) and when I load up Impulse X and go to the High Scores section, everything is completely cleared out and all scrambled actually (almost looks like a glitch in numbers). I didn't find any threads about the Memory Track in here to feed off of. Would this sound like an issue with the Memory Track itself, the games themselves, or perhaps the connection? I have this plugged into the cartridge slot on the CD unit which is plugged into the Jaguar itself. Like I said I can hold OPTION and access the memory track and see the saves, they just don't load or work properly when trying to play the actual game so I assume it is not a connection issue.

Atari Jaguar Composite Monitor Video Cable Broke.
UHATEIT replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Atari Jaguar
I have a broken AV cable as well, pulled it out from the back and somehow it stuck and when i tugged it pulled one of the soldering points inside of the box/cube loose so it is all scrambled as well. I am like you and wish I knew how to solder os I could actually fix things like that! -
The Outrun port I don;t believe was ever finished. This one looks pretty awesome. I like the Power Drive Rally style cartooney graphics in the video. Should be pretty sweet when it's released!
-
Good to know. I like that some Jag games have an adjustment option for that to correct it. Other games I have to just deal with it. I was playing Jag Worm and you can adjust it, Impulse X, but can't on JagZombies.
