  1. I agree with one of the comments, wondering as to WHY they even bothered to release a unit like this, since it didn't really have much else to offer and that some of the games aside from the FMV could have probably fit onto a cart instead. I think with carts kind of on the way out and the rise of CDs, that was probably the reason for it. CD media is likely a lot cheaper to produce and print on than to produce carts. I enjoy my Jag CD, definitely for the homebrew aspects of it. Many of the ports are available in rom format for a skunkboard and then also in iso format for CD burns. I figure if I can play them on the skunk then I don't need to burn them onto a CD and use the CD unit for the extra wear and tear if it will likely look just as good on the skunk. I have noticed there is basically no difference as far as graphics wise when it comes to that as well (ST ports flashed to a skunk vs burning some to a CD and using on the Jag CD unit). With the prices they go for now, it's absurd honestly to buy them. But retro everything is popular right now so everyone wants to snatch up these random systems that never really got big. Hold onto your units while you can.
  2. Thanks for the post about Sturmwind. That looks pretty awesome and like a completed Native likely would be.
  3. finally got started on this tonight. Even the first Division is tough, I keep wrecking
  4. This makes my head hurt. But I understand people want to work the market and make what money they can.
  5. What is recommended for the Jaguar CD and the 3do? I found that CD-R made by a better brand (Taiyo Yuden) seems to work fine on the 3DO. Am curious if there are other types to try for the Jag CD and 3DO that would be easier on the laser.
  6. I found that my Jaguar CD can play the cheapo Verbatim CD-R which has been nice. I wish my 3DO would read the cheapo discs better instead of going slow and forcing me to use the higher end CD-R discs.
  7. I love Pinball Fantasies and played that game to death as a kid, but it is basically the same as the one on SNES. Ruiner is exclusive to the Jaguar and is pretty good. But Pinball Fantasies is my jam!
  8. Anyone on this forum buy that $810.00 auction? If so and all the consoles work that's not necessarily a bad price I guess.
  9. It's good to get back in the Jaguar scene man! Good luck on rebuilding the collection!

Cheat codes sweet! I may have to bust this one out again and see if I can finish it off now. I think I got stuck on what would be level 4 or stage 4 trying to find a switch to unlock a wall.
  11. I was really surprised it was $200! I must have been off on my values but I thought Braindead 13 was going for around $100 or so. I've tried that game on Saturn and 3DO and I found it terrible personally. I can;t seem to get the timing sequences down on any of those timing/click type games (Space Ace, Dragon's Lair, Braindead 13, or hell even on Sewer Shark) regardless of the system I am just bad at those ones I think.
  12. I recently got into the Sega Game gear actually since they are super cheap to buy. I love Atari and would like to get a Lynx but they are very pricey considering the screen is pretty bad on it. Someone posted that they'd be looking up there in price to get a used Lynx and then have the McWill screen mod done. While the Game Gear had a bad screen, bad caps, and bad battery life, getting one fully restored with new caps and the LED backlight mod with a freshly upgraded battery back attachment with 2900MAH batteries is fairly cheap even with a case and some games. Also the Game Gear has a pretty hefty library compared to the Lynx. Alas I wouldn't mind a Lynx but they are getting pricey.
  13. Supposedly they gave the guy a good trade on this stuff since he comes in there all the time. He also traded in that entire CIB US Virtual Boy collection as well and has traded in some other random and rare items (CIB FM Towns Marty) and I believe even a boxed Sega CDX too. So they have good rapport with the guy. As for pricing it surely does suck as they used to have some stuff priced reasonably, but with Jaguar stuff shooting up in price online I think they are capitalizing on that. I talked with them and they want $200 for the loose Pro Controller, $250 for the boxed Pro Controller, $200 for the boxed Braindead 13, $140 for the boxed Zero 5, and I know they sold the CIB Jaguar CD for $450 immediately but I guess threw in some other stuff. I hear things are negotiable but still crazy in prices. Luckily this is the same place I got my loose near mint Jaguar CD unit for $200, which still is a lot compared to what prices used to be but in today's market $200 for a Jaguar CD is pretty good and I was happy to finally get one and experience the library and the homebrew market.
  14. That's exactly what I yhoight. Because they also told me he traded in a spindle of burned games as well, like a bunch of homebrew games you'd likely have to have been on the forum to have gotten, as well as a bunch of the Black Ice White Noise versions. I was there last weekend and saw Robinson's Requiem which is the one I still want to get.
  15. You guys are spot on! I totally forgot about the sound effects when the box opened in that scene of the movie. Yes we need this!
  16. This is at Level 7 Games on Alameda in Denver. They have 3 locations and have spread out the stash amongst their stores. I went to all 3 and found some at each this last weekend. The boxed Jag CD they sold for $450, I talked to the guy who bought it, they threw in some games with it for him also.
  17. I posted this on the Facebook page but if some didn't see this when I posted it a couple weeks ago, I wanted to share here to show sometimes good stuff gets traded in and people have talked about finding stuff in the wild. These crazy collections and trade-ins are out there! My local store took a kickass trade in of over $2000 in Jaguar stuff a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed that one person had all of this and traded it in! This is the SAME store I was able to score my Jaguar CD unit at. Unfortunately I went in this last weekend and they are now using EBAY prices for their Jaguar items so most of them are ridiculously overpriced now They took in a boxed Jag CD, tons of really good cart games (including a boxed Battlesphere game), 2 pro controllers, and literally the entire Jag CD library. On a side note below since we are in the Jaguar group so we like the weird/oddball consoles, this same exact store also took in FROM THE SAME SELLER an entire CIB US Nintendo Virtual Boy collection as well in the same week, including a CIB Mario Tennis, Jack Bros., Waterworld, and even Bound High! The seller must have been hard up for cash!
  18. Damn those boxes are dope. I'd be down for the growl when it opens haha!
  19. Alright so I tried Space Hulk and I cannot figure it out. I have watched the video about the monsters just coming at you like crazy when you first start. I didn't see any monsters to start out! I assume what you are supposed to do is literally direct all of your terminator buddies to go to certain areas and then they help you? I walked around the first level not figuring what the hell I was even supposed to do or where the exit even was!
  20. A box for display would be cool. It wouldn't be kept in the box if I got it. The person asking about the box didn't say they'd keep it in the box.
  21. Interesting read. I really enjoy Breakout 2000, decent graphics for the Jaguar as well. I played up to some decent high scores!
  22. I have really enjoyed Total Eclipse, it gets fucking hard tho as you get further down the road! I need an invincibility code to get past the last few levels! I got this AFTER playing through Solar Eclipse on the Sega Saturn and beating that. I really liked that game (it was also pretty dang hard) but after beating that i wanted to play Total Eclipse and really enjoyed that as well. I like space shooters honestly!
