  1. I just tried it out a few minutes ago. It's a decent game to mess around with. I got a Max score of 293
  2. I tried taking shots with my cell phone and I couldn't seem to get a good pic of it. I have 2 aftermarket Jaguar Svideo cables tho (one with red/white/yellow and svideo, and the other with just red/white and dedicated svideo only). I did some testing and found that when I try to use my splitter even with the dedicated svideo one it looks terrible with tons of checkerboard. When I connected that dedicated one to the TV itself the checkerboarding was still there but went down a lot. The one that has both yellow Av and the svideo is the one that still looks terrible connected to the splitter OR the TV itself, which I think is a common issue with those type of combo cables splitting the signal to both the svideo side and the yellow side and causes that issue
  3. I am sorry to rehash an old thread from so long ago. I am sure checkerboarding and dithering is a topic that has been beaten to death. I have tried a couple of different AV cables and when I use them it's obviously better than RF but get more blur/fuzz especially in the red areas. I love that when I use the svideo cables I have that is cleans/sharpens that up quite a bit. But I get significant checkerboarding ever since getting svideo cables. I have 2 different svideo cable setups. One which is the red/white audio and Svideo ONLY (which actually has 2 cables going into the back of the plug. And then I have another one which has the Svideo and also the yellow AV cable as well. I have heard that with most cable options getting a dedicated svideo only is the way to go vs the ones with the yellow added since it can often not ground properly and split the signal to the yellow cable making it active still. I guess that is what results in the checkerboard look. I noticed this significantly when I installed the CD player unit to the top of my Jaguar as all of the CD games suffer from significant checkerboarding and also the carts that are plugged into the top of the CD unit as well suffer from it, just not as badly. For anyone with an Svideo plug being used on their Jaguar do you get significant checkerboarding? And if so, have you noticed it to be amplified with the CD unit installed? Since the cable doesn't plug into the CD unit itself I would doubt it would contribute to it.
  4. This is actually a good question. They aren't ready for sale yet however, but initially for the quote it would need to be bought in pairs, but since the quota is met maybe they will allow to buy just 1 controller vs. 2. I know my wife won't bother playing the Jaguar with me on a second controller!
  5. I do not have a Twitter, but god dammit I need to get one now!
  6. I gave it a go again last weekend and played it through 3 times and still even with mashing the correct buttons and trying to take the turns it was hit and miss as to then it would seem to register the correct direction so I ended up getting maybe 5+ minutes in and dying, then tried it a few more times and kept getting the same thing. Random times when it would actually make the turns. I did follow the HUD and there are some random times when it will blink Red or blink YELLOW and other times it blinks GREEN.
  7. Very true man! I love the skunkboard. For the most part many of the roms can be played perfectly on the skunk. Only misses the save function which is fine. Of the skunk would do CD games then it would be perfect! I know the SD cart will do that but otherwise most of the games for the CD can easily be found out there and are burnable as well. I like the CD unit for the games it has, even tho there aren't many, but for those of us that live the Jaguar it is still a lot of fun to play. Hell even if the games totally suck I'm still happy to have something to play on the Jaguar and I can basically appreciate just about anything that comes out!
  8. You're killing me man! I love the Jag CD. And the skunkboard too!
  9. I'm going to try the B button option he mentioned and hold that while doing the turns to see if it works. I have yet to get past the first stage in the game "meat" something.
  10. Agreed, I-WAR is one of my favorites. It gets tough as you go along. I hope to beat that shit someday!
  11. I checked this thread to see what "one" meant. Jag CD? Jag console? Battlesphere?
  12. That's the one I saw. I read about the different controllers and knew there was stiffer d-pad on the one with the black keys. I thought the differences in box was odd. I even noticed the overlay for Cybermorph was glossy vs matte in my other one. I don't know what is the rarity in boxes and designs for the system out there. Perhaps it depends on the console inside of it and where it's made which will reference the type of box and controller you get. I was so used to my Jaguar I've had forever that now when I tried this new one I didn't like it! My original Jaguar I got in 1995 on clearance at KayBee Toys had a sticker price for $29.99 and the one I just got yesterday has a $249.99 sticker from EB games on the front of it and he told me he got his in 1993. Based on price sticker I imagine it was older since it had the higher price. But per that guy's thread above about controllers it seemed like the ones with the thinner cord were revision 7 and 8 and made later in the production. Makes me wonder what ones KayBee was selling were, were they ones that were old stock shipped to them directly from Atari as they were dumping them to liquidate and they had the thicker cord on it which matches with the earlier revisions he mentioned. Also my serial number is low and appears as if it was an earlier produced model as well. These are interesting findings. I'd honestly be curious to hear from anyone on what the oldest produced model were based on serial numbers. Anyone here have model #1?
  13. I acquired a second Jaguar CIB yesterday and noticed a difference with the box and controller. My original one I have owned since 1995 has a glossier finish and the Cybermorph cart included portion printed in the upper right corner, it also came with a controller that has a thicker cable and gray keys. Also has an American flag and "made in the USA" In the upper left corner. The one I snagged yesterday has a dimmer finish on the box, there is a sticker in the upper corner saying that Cybermorph is included, and the controller is the one with the black keys and the stiffer more clicky D-pad (which I don't actually like the feeling of personally) and also a thinner cable as well. It has pictures on the back of upcoming games for Tiny Toons and Aircars which is different than the ones on the back or my other console. This was just something I noticed in my observations and thought it was weird the controller itself was different. I hadn't ever came across another Jaguar in person to see these differences. Not sure if that has to do with where the models were made or how old they were with the boxes being different. I know there is a Power Pack one as well. I don't know if there is any additional rarity in certain models or if any specific ones are more desireable? Again this is just an observation I had.
  14. I tried Sewer Shark and think it;s fun and would love to actually beat it, but it seems like the controls just don;'t register properly for me. Not registering the turns is what kills you in the game as you'll go into that non-opening door or whatever. If this could register better I could actually beat the game and would love to do that! Games that have a strict timing situation are ones I struggle with (same with Dragon's Lair, Braindead 13, and Space Ace)
  15. Sure thing thanks for the info. I enjoy the skunk thusfar.
  16. No one knows when that will finally come out. The skunkboard is fairly inexpensive in the meantime. I've enjoyed it!

    Moar Minter!

Poor Kal, I know he was trying to find the rom for "gridrunner" to play on his skunkboard!
  18. I agree with you that Zero 5 is friggin hard! Maybe even a settings option for that to be able to drop the difficulty down to easy would be nice! Everytime I see someone talk about AVP they always play as the Marine, or in your case the Predator. I never see any love for the Alien! I like the alien due to being able to chop marines and regenerate more lives. I will also agree with brutal Sports Football, I can't understand the controls or what I am doing but it is fun as shit to hit people and steal the ball away! Congrats on getting back into the Jag!
  19. That's kind of what I took from that 64x64 comment. Would definitely be nice at full size on a screen. Whether this is related or not, I seem to find that with my tv a lot of the CD games or any games for that mater keep showing up with about a 1 inch black line down the left side of the screen, as if it's shifted to the right. I have seen some games with options to change the screen position and others not. That's probably a TV issue vs a jaguar issue I guess.
  20. yep yep back on topic! For the OP if you can get your hands on a skunkboard that is a great tool to checkout some of the sweet homebrew games that have been made after the commercial releases stopped. I have had some great experiences with a bunch of the homebrew games. My favorite of the non-commercial thusfar has been Brett Hull Hockey. I was a huge hockey fan back in the day and the graphics are display are not that bad on this game. Definitely worth it to check out!
  21. Sweet music for sure! I'll have to try this on the skunk when I get home. Very small to see on the screen here at work
  22. Very nice sir! The 944 was always a sexy looking car as well! After the 300ZX I had an Eclipse GS-T, Toyota MR2 widebody Turbo, and then a Nissan 350z. The MR2 and 350Z were scary to drive in the wet rain they always seemed like the back end was going to slip out on me.
  23. Ah man I wanted a Fieto GT as my first car. I test drove one my neighbor had that was super clean and for sale. But ended up getting a Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo instead a hell of a car for a 16-year old!
  24. Dust off that Jaguar man, she's looking a bit dusty!
