That link isn't working for me for some reason. Were these the price for the units themselves and you install them? I ordered a Goldstar 3DO last night which apparently works but knowing my luck it will have issues, so doing a USB mod on one would be pretty cool. I have some local friends with good soldering skills if it's just the unit that is needed. if I am reading the posts likely they aren't even available anywhere anymore anyways.

No way, I like the Jaggy looking graphics! I mean that if I wanted better graphics I'd buy another system (which would likely be cheaper anyways) and that system would likely also have a better library as well (Saturn or PS1)

A Jaguar is a Jaguar, do we not like the jaggy looking graphics? Honestly for me I like the old school graphics and style. If I wanted nicer graphics I'd just get another system which likely costs less and has more games for it anyways But that Kittybox does look pretty snazzy tho!

Hey Venatus are you saying you bought something to ADD in the scanlines? I think the picture looks great on your post but think it doesn't look as good with scan lines in.

I have one of these and tried it from composite to HDMI on a 65 inch Panasonic Viera Plasma and it looks pretty nice. A little blurry around the edges but looked pretty nice to me on a large tv!

If you can find and get these I would recommend them: Super Burnout, I-War, Zero 5, and Skyhammer!

yeah with the many number of things it could have been, I opted to just buy another FZ-1 from a local friend for $100 and it works like a champ, no freezing or reading issues, reads the crappy cheapo discs instead of the expensive ones. It has a different vent setup on the top lid with vents on both sides so it likely vents better than the other one I have. So I packed the other up on the shelf and am using the one that I just got. I still want an FZ-10 to have as well but the prices keep shooting up for them so I haven't been able to get one!

I bargained $100 off of their asking price and got it for $200 straight up and its near mint!

I basically figured this one out with the help from here and my local forum group in Denver. The overheating thing basically is the capacitors that are getting hot. I took the top off the 3DO and then the metal shield off the top of the disc drive and it seems to do well. I think the issue stemmed from the massive power box inside of the case. When you take the cover off, the internal power source gets crazy hot and I think the little baby fan inside just isn't strong enough to pull all of the hot air out of the side. I also bought a second FZ-1 3Do from a local guy and it has a different colored top (glossy and textured vs flat marble colored) and that seems to also have a better set of gills/vents in the top cover that seems to flow more air. I think that might have been a later revision of the FZ-1 with better build quality and issues fixed. That one seems to have no issues with the venting, no capacitor issues, and no issues reading even the CHEAPO Verbatim burned discs. Wheras my other one would have overheating issues and then reading issues with anything other than the fancy Taiyo Yuden discs.

I have beaten through Iron Angel and the sequel "The Return" and both were fairly bland and easy, but still were fun to play! I know a lot of people love Return Fire and I need to read the instructions to figure out what to do once you eliminate all threats on the level. I liked playing with the helicopter so you can fly over water!

I was in the thread and threw out my name months ago and was asking for an update. Fuck me for not going back to the first post. It's not like I am new to the thread. Is there a God damn rule that you need to read the first post of every thread first beforeaking any comments? Maybe there is, and it's probably the same pricks who invented that rule.

Saturn you are awesome and thanks for posting all of these! Quite the list of games here for availability and play on the Jaguar CD console! From what I take, some are basically the SAME as the rom version of the game but able to be burned to a CD for play on the CD console. Is there any difference in the games themselves (or even the graphics) or are most of them the same as the ones you can flash to the skunkboard? All I can figure is that the graphics might be better on the CD vs the cart but I haven't tried a side by side to compare.

Is this still ongoing? I added my name to the list months ago. Are they in the works to be done soon or any ETA on these?

I played this last weekend and it was pretty fun and challenging. Definitely worth the time to play

Damn that's crazy you have no switch at all! I just bought a second FZ-1 unit last weekend and it is like my other one, had the 3-4 switch, unfortunately no Mode A-B switch But I did notice the difference in the top cover, it is textured and shiny vs my other one which is dull/flat and a marble color on the top. The lettering on the front is bigger as well. I was hoping that was a Japanese unit for the sake of this switch but no dice, likely just another version of the US model.

Brutal Sports Football is a great game and I have had a lot of fun playing it. A gem for the system in my eyes for sure.

I had wondered if the 240p of the Japanese version was worth it to buy it over a US version. My fz-1 is on the fritz due to capacitors I found out so I was thinking of snagging a spare fz-10 if I can and was interested in a Japanese one if the 240p makes a difference.

Mine is a Trinitron XBR which should be a pretty high end CRT. It's a flat CRT. I didn't notice much but maybe I'll give it another shot. I notice a big difference with the Saturn but nothing much at all from the 3DO over the AV
