  1. I played it the other day with the Broncos vs the Cowboys, and I kicked some ass at it. I have yet to play a full season tho to try and beat the game but I should. Watching the Broncos is pointless now and would likely get more enjoyment playing through this game start to finish that watching the broncos continue their losing streak.

  2. I played the .rom version the guy posted on Facebook a few weeks ago and it was pretty good with bugs of course. But I had fun getting through the levels and that 3DO level was pretty cool. I have never been able to get a .ABS file to work at all so I am not sure if this one you posted here is different than the one that was posted on the Atari Jaguar Fans page a few weeks back? If it is upgraded from that version that would be great! Curious on that Jeff

  3. This game looks pretty awesome. Would be great if it was more readily available for purchase and at a decent price (as in under $100) I know it is no longer produced and only 400 or so copies made, but this would be nice to see out there again :)

  4.

Did you try referring to one of the FAQs available? https://www.gamefaqs.com/jaguar/586871-alien-vs-predator/faqs

Awesome thank you! I really try my best to get through games without the need for cheats and walkthroughs, but damn there are so many tunnels in this one and airducts I kept getting lost. Thanks for the help! Now if I can just figure out how to get through the first turret boss in Air Cars I can move further in that game too ;)

  5. Here's one I prepared earlier.

    attachicon.gifRaiden-SkunkFixed.rom

This has been a public service broadcast on behalf of the skunkboard party.

You are the man! Worked like a charm! I was surprised there are a couple that I noticed that were like that.

Also BTW props to you on all the ST games you ported over as well. I saw your name on the front screen of Solomon's Key. That one is addicting (and hard too!)

  6. Apparently Raiden doesn't switch on the video system when it is started, Atari knew about this and had to change the VLM start code to handle this problem. See Cart.S and CDBoot1.s in the VLM-sources.

    Kind regards

    Matthias

whoa sorry I am lost, what is it I need to look for? I have to use SkunkGUI as my command prompt screens just aren't pulling up with my laptop. Even after flashing the Raiden rom and then eventually unplugging the cart and reloading it again into the Jaguar it still won't start.

  7. Sorry for the rehash again! When flashing some roms, after the yellow and black screen stops, some of them just turn the screen blue or all black and then nothing loads at all. Even after restarting the Jaguar and then trying that bank to load still the same. Is that an issue with the cart or is that just what happens if the ROM itself doesn't work on the skunk? It's happened on a few games for me.

  8. I have had rare instances in which regardless of booting and hitting reset, the Jag screen comes up and then turns red and stays even after hitting the reset a bunch. But once taking the cart out and reinserting it then it's fine.

Ad for your rainbow screen lasting forever, I have not seen that, but have seen the black screen with yellow flickering last for a long time!

I am having a problem with some of the roms working. Raiden is an example, no matter how many times I load it, after it is done, the screen just goes to blue. Any of you have that issue? Even after retrying and resetting and re inserting the cart no matter how many times I flash it I get the same result. I have had some that at the end of the flashing it turns blue then quickly pops over to the working Jaguar screens and the game starts, but Raiden and a few others I can't remember just seem to turn the screen blue and will never load. Could that be a rom specific issue?

  9. It's cool seeing all the I-War love. Definitely seems like an underappreciated game based on the response.

It's funny you mention Skyhammer. I just saw the new Blade Runner last night and during most scenes where they were flying around the city it actually made me want to go home and play that game.

Didn't Skyhammer use the AvP engine? I think you're right about that one being underrated too.

I love Skyhammer, I am not sure it is necessarily underrated, maybe just not well known outside of the community I guess. Those who have played it typically rave about how good it is. It's probably the most visually appealing game to me on the system. As for using the AVP engine I am unsure, that technical stuff is beyond me!

  10. Careful with reusing the same hub for other devices!

I got 3 hubs at home and none of them in reality allows that without consequences. Sure, you can use use whatever device you plug into hub, while skunk is plugged there too.

But then, when you unplug the new device, it's impossible to get skunk working without manual uninstallation of drivers and reinstall from scratch.

You might get lucky with yours, but I don't think it's worth the risk, unless you don't mind restarting your windows, of course.

I do think it's much simpler to just use another USB port...

By using it for other things, I mean when not using the Skunk for flashing, I can use it when I save and backup my pics to my laptop from my cell phone. The normal USB to the cell phone to then copy tons of pics over (I do it once a month) goes really slow. I back them up just incase I lose my phone or break it. My wife and I have a small child and we take a lot of pics and to lose the pics we've taken would be devastating so I like to back them up.

But I get what you mean about using it for multiple things at the same time, likely that would deplete the performance on it.

  11. Good call on I-War getting brought up as a great game that does not get a lot of attention. I really enjoy that one a lot!

The one that I personally think needs to be brought up as one of the best on the system, and I am sure others will agree, is Skyhammer! That game has some excellent graphics and is super fun to play. Awesome to see the things that the jaguar could do. While the repetitive missions can get annoying at times, flying around the citied to see what they look like is enough fun in itself!

  12. Thank you very much for sharing this info. Many people won't bother sharing that info even after being asked. Putzes

I was happy to do this since tursi was curious and then really happy with the performance of that little hub. Now I can use that also for data and picture transfers from my cell phone when I back things up too

  13. Wow I got my 3.0 USB hub in the mail today and tested the skunk flash with my old laptop running Windows 10. This morning before the hub arrived it took 9 minutes for a 4mb game and then around 5 minutes for a 2mb game.

With the hub plugged in I used the stopwatch on my phone and it did the rainbow erase and flash to game start at 37 seconds for a 2mb game and 1 minute 11 seconds for a 4mb game.

Thanks for telling me about this you guys! Definitely get a USB hub if you don't have one. This one I got was $8.99 off Amazon and the brand is Sabrent. I attached a picture of it as well
