  1. I see a small pic of your setup in your avatar photo. Got any larger pictures? I'd like to see your setup, it seems pretty sweet.

Check out my gallery - I am always changing it around, but the avatar is probably the closest to how it is right now...

  2. I actually purchased both. All kinds of people were telling me to use the "null" modem cable aka the Terminal Cable. I didn't understand why that would be needed so I bought the Modem cable also. I'll try again with the Modem cable.

I initially was attempting to use a Lantronix UDS-10 and also got mixed research results and responses. So I also have both cables. In the end the CX-87 is what I needed, especially when I went to the wimodem232.

  3. Also, I am not using custom cabling, I purchased the actual Terminal cable from atari.

The "terminal" cable is a NULL modem cable. You need the "modem" cable.

Did you purchase the CX-87 or CX-88 or both?? The CX-87 "modem" cable is was is needed.

If you purchased the CX-88, you might get away with using another NULL modem adapter inline to reverse it, but no guarantees that will work.

  4. I have the 850 ==> CX-87 modem cable ==> wimodem232

Using the latest version of Ice-T, I have to load the ATARI850.HND handler first, then load Ice-T.

    It works perfectly.

NOTE: On first set-up you have to set the baud rate to the wimodem default rate of 300. After the wimodem232 is set-up and can be detected by the terminal program, then you can go up to 9600 baud.

  5. Guys

I do not own one of these, but I gave it a shot translating the manual the best I could (Google translation) and formatted to look like the German manual. I did NOT provide ANY screenshots because, as stated, I do not own one of these. So if someone wants to use this as a template and add screenshots with English translations, that would be great.

Let me know if this would work for you and you guys can take it from here! I will need to email the original *.docx to you though since this is a *.pdf version attached.

    SIO2SD 3.pdf

    I agree.
I hope one of our German friends translates it in English.

Damn, that is really a good manual. It was certainly a lot of work...
    Thank you for the link.

    Stefan

That does look nice, maybe an english version will come soon.

    I found a version in German: http://sio2sd.gucio.pl/wiki/KeyboardDoc_de?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=Anleitung_35.pdf

if you don’t speak German, I believe this translates better through Google than the Polish version.

Did anyone ever finish translating the manual?

  6. Thanks for the obsession and interest as usual, just so everyone knows, I been a top seller on and off ebay, despite I messed up and even took full responsibility fixing all the wrongs to right, one or two like to ridicule me here, and I will say this I took care of all my errors and owned up to it.

That gives me more credibility than most!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ridiculous. You've been on eBay since 2006 and have only 202 feedback. Within that feedback, you have a few negative and neutral responses. I find it interested that they complain about your attitude and inappropriate responses exactly the same as the members here do. You are a real piece of work. Go peddle your sh!t somewhere else...

Fast refund, Says cant supply item, but but has it re-listed for $10 more beware
Beware Free ship=wrapping paper=damage.Rude&defensive.Called me names in emails.
BEWARE! Sent me INAPPROPRIATE emails after refunding $ for item ebay cancelled!

What I don't get is I've been a member on eBay since 2000 and I have not even received a NEUTRAL response, but you consider yourself a top seller? Move on...

  7. I was looking to buy this directly from you but it looks like I'll have to bid on it (and you will have to pay ebay fees) :(

    My bad...

...force of habit. Past few items I posted for sale on here did not get any interest even though asking prices were well below what they normally go for, so I automatically list on ebay now due to that and eat the cost.

  8. WOW! I had something very similar to that when i was a kid from Children's Palace. Only it was actually enclosed in a cardboard case, not the plastic.

Was able to talk to "truckers" on their CB's lol. Illegal from what I recalled, but I had fun at the time...

  9. What did the XEGS cost you if you don't mind me asking? I'm playing with the idea of buying one myself.

It was part of the entire lot pictured. After I clean it and test functionality I might be selling it.

I'm just overwhelmed right now with all that was included. So far I cleaned and tested the 2600, 800XL and 400. They all work.

2600 board had to be flushed with electronic cleaner and case washed.

800XL worked first try and still needs a good case scrub.

400 speaker was detached and bouncing around and the lid would not close due to metal shield in wrong location.

  10. I received these in a lot today and I do not own an ST. Mainly an 8-bit collector. Would anyone be interested in these and is there any value to them?

I have no need for them, but thought someone on here might be interested. Two of them are stamped in red ink DEMO. I assume it means they are not full games and not pre-release promotional DEMO's, but not familiar with ST software. I also have no way to test them to see if they work.

    Thanks!

CRAZY motherload of fun. Almost everything needs some TLC, but going to be working on this for quite some time.
