I've noticed that on a few ebay auctions. Curious if they just used what they had at that time between the red and silver boxes.

Fixing a dead 130XE board, which bank of RAMs to fill first ?
NISMOPC replied to Level42's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I removed the SIO from a 130XE parts board first by drilling out the pop rivets with a drill bit same size as the rivets. Once through, they just popped clean. Then removed solder from each pin and slowly/gently pulled up on it. if any resistance, I would see which pins were sticking and pull solder off again. Repeat until it came free. Was tedious, but easier than I expected. -

130XE RAM, what configuration do you have ?
NISMOPC replied to Level42's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The NTSC 130XE's & 65XE's I've had in my possession were all mT branded. That's been about 10 all together. If you have one or two random chip's in there, it's more then likely it was replaced at the factory during final assembly testing and a faulty chip was identified OR previous owner replaced a faulty chip. -

Double post. Disregard...

Dumb question, but how did you verify the purple wire on SIO is pin 7? Not all SIO plugs are the same wire colors. I salvaged my SIO plug/cable from a non-working 410 Program Recorder and the colors are White, Black, Brown, Orange. ATARI 401 SIO to FT232RL USB Pin4 (Black) to GND (Black) Pin5 (Brown) to RXD (White) Pin3 (White) to TXD (Green) Pin7 (Orange) to CTS (Blue) With these connections, I am using CTS Handshaking with RespeQt and AspeQt with no issues. 19800 baud...
