  1. @davpa I reached out on DISCORD and chatted with Ashlee. She was able to look it up and get it showing as OWNED - DOWNLOADING NOW!!!!!!!!!
  2. @davpa I ordered it, received email invoice that I paid $29.99 and order is complete, but am unable to download. It also does not show as bought on VCS game store. Is this just a delay in processing? Also, is the $29.99 with the discount or is that normal price? Just curious. No cares either way as $29.99 is a deal for what I hope to get. EDIT: Added details... Order status: Awaiting fulfillment Order date: Dec 20th 2022 Order total: $29.99 Payment method: Stripe (Credit Card)
  3. Just some details around a recent issue I resolved. Not sure if I noticed this before or not on my NUC 576+ w/FUJINET & CART. I've had the unit since MARCH of this year, but haven't spent a lot of time with it. Some background: I have an EclaireXL, the NUC and several 8-bits (400, 800, 600XL, 800XL, 1200XL, 65XE, 130XE, 800XE (PAL) as well as a few modded versions of these) and haven't spent a lot of time on any of them recently. Decided to update my external FUJINET and the internal NUC FUJINET/CART to most recent firmware and play around with both of them for a bit. I ran into an issue on the NUC. My SD cards would not read. I tried SD and microSD of all brands and sizes. All the same results. Would not be able to read the cards no matter what I did. After messing around with this for quite some time and running the flash update multiple times, I finally decided to open the NUC. After looking over the board, I noticed that the SD card reader did not appear to be fully soldered to the board. Solder connections just seemed not to be the best or lacking proper connections. Figured it couldn't hurt, fired up my soldering iron and reflowed with some more solder. Before re-assembling, I tested a few SD cards and they ALL are reading fine now. FIXED! I purchased mine thru the The Brewing Academy. As these are built to order, have many smaller components and are very time consuming to build, I have no issues with TBA or the unit itself. Just wanted to provide some details around this if anyone else runs into this issue.
  4. Solid response! Thanks! Even though makes no sense, that was the issue. Debian is now installed and updating!
  5. Well... so far no go on my Debian install. I have gone thru the set-up 5 times now, and after setting everything up 5 times, I get the ATARI VCS imaged desktop with NO apps, no drop downs, nothing. Only options I get are the power drop down. If I reboot, it just goes right back to the Debian set-up. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Birthday present from parents. Went to local store called Video Games Express and bought a brand new 800XL and 1050 drive. Can't recall actual year, but thinking it was around 1985? I still have both units in the Atari collection with original boxes and manuals and they still work as they did when new. 1050 did however need some adjustments a few years ago when it stopped reading disks.
  7. Where is that? I just added Official Atari Games to Discord, but can't find topic. EDIT: Nevermind. Found it:
  8. Wow... so I did not even notice that. The website picture is much cooler looking. Hmm... It is a Kingston branded USB stick, so hopefully I didn't get duped. I'll try it on the VCS after work and report back... ...maybe they put the USB stick in backwards like the XP carts and it won't work. 😁
  9. No frills packaging, but definitely one of the coolest USB sticks I own... 😜 ... Box is so small. 😲
  10. Supposed to receive mine today - anyone else get theirs yet? Try it out? Review?
  11. Ordered one myself the other day. If anything, just for the cool USB FUJI stick. It'll be a fun little addition to mess around with. Also, nice that they included the Atari VCS OS and Bios disaster recovery images on it...
  12. @mytek Just an update on the BTC 5100C mini PS/2 keyboard... I tried the remove power from NUC - connect PS/2 BTC keyboard - power up and it only flashed 2 times (slowly I might add). Does not work. So, it'll go in my pile of stuff for future projects. Went back to the cheap mini keyboard and all is good.
  13. Yea - was looking forward to it as well since it's a nifty little unit. I'll give it a try with NO power - connect - then power up and see. If not, I'll just use it for other projects. Thanks for the response @mytek
  14. So, ran into issue today. Currently using a cheap mini PS/2 keyboard. Everything works fine, but decided to get a NOS BTC 5100C PS/2 mini keyboard. Has that mechanical feel and larger keys too. It does not want to work properly. Can't boot NUC. If I boot with the cheap one I can swap keyboard and get some functions to work. Not all. I noticed the cheap keyboard flashes three times when power is applied to the NUC and works great, but the BTC only flashes once or sometimes a delayed 2nd flash. Also the cheap keyboard shows it draws 5v 100mA, but the BTC draws 5v 170mA. Could that be the issue? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
  15. Trying to complete my loose (no box) collection of Atari 7800 games. This is the LAST ONE needed. Looking for NTSC version of Tank Command. PM me if you have one for sale (or trade). Thanks!
  16. As a person who keeps computers running as long as I can, I feel it was a win-win for me. Purchased my first black walnut bundle from MicroCenter for $149, upgraded memory and added an M2 SSD. I was lucky enough to get the black onyx bundle from GameStop for $99 this week. For under $250 I now own two compact PC's with the alternate Atari linux based OS. Not sure what the plan is for the Black Onyx one, but the black walnut looks quite nice sitting under my TV in my great room and provides enjoyment for basic gaming and 4 great controllers. At least they got it right on those.
  17. Ordered mine on April 20th, shipped April 21st and arrived at my doorstep today approx. 1 hour ago.
  18. Good to know - I have the FUJINET-CART board so I am good to go! Thanks @mytek
  19. THANK YOU! - I bought FTDI USB cable a while back thinking that was only way to update the internal FUJINET not knowing it had same feature as the standard SIO FUJINET (which I also own).
  20. This might be an elementary question, but I've had my 576NUC+ w/Fujinet-Cart for a few weeks now and am not sure what the mini USB and volume or contrast knob are for on the rear. What is the functionality of those two items?
  21. Late to the party. My experience... 7 year old HP Laptop Specs: AMD 1.80 GHz 8GB Memory Windows 10 Home Had to install the driver to identify COM port. Everything worked fine. No issues with firmware update.
  22. To test the tactile switch, just take a screwdriver or similar and cross the two legs for a split second on the power switch. If the unit turns on, then the tactile switch is bad. I have 4 7800's and three of the four had bad switches. I replaced all 4 switches on all three units with new ones and they work flawlessly now. The 4th unit is CIB and practically brand new, so I assume it was not used much.
  23. They are really good!~ Their name apparently came from the lead singer's fascination with the Atari. They compose their music on an Atari 1040ST
