haha. No worries. Well this was my first mod with the UAV (i had done a cheaper brand before). This mod is definitely, lights out, the best out there. My only struggle, being relatively new to modding, is that the instructions were scattershot across the "internets" and even across this forum. It would be extremely helpful if they were all combined into one concise resource for each revision. I know that's a lot of work and Bryan's very busy, but it would definitely reduce the struggle. Now that i know what i'm doing (relatively so), it'll be easier..

Hey Darryl,
Actually, that was me.. I finally got it going. I had the wiring correct but the TIA chip apparently took a crap on me. I think I may have overheated the chip when I was soldering the connection wires to the chip. I would recommend, when you do it, to solder to the back of the board. Cleaner looking and you won't ruin the TIA chip, which are getting pricey.

Yeah, disregard. I think at some point during the soldering process, the TIA chip died (because I know for a fact it was working prior). I soldered underneath the board and replaced the TIA chip. Works like a charm now!
Brian - I suggest backing out your work a little bit and seeing what happens. Rig up a scrap wire and connect it straight up to the composite out and ground on the UAV then plug that to the TV without worrying about audio or anything. Just see if the system is dead or not. The UAV connections are simple with the Luma signal points marked as they are on Rev D boards.

As an update to the last post, there was a schematic someone posted that seemed incorrect based on what was printed on the UAV, so I switched the wires up to match the instructions and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello everyone -- hoping for some help on my first Rev D UAV upgrade on a 2600 4-switch with a socketed TIA chip. I believe i have the wires connected from the TIA to the UAV correctly, the UAV has plenty of power (5VDC), and the TIA chip and the console were functioning just fine prior to this attempt. I bent out pin 6 of the TIA, as I read it can cause issues. I'm pulling the color from the backside of the PCB and ran it to the screw in module for the UAV (sorry if i'm using incorrect terminology). I ran the ground and the composite off the UAV to the appropriate RCA jack. Can anyone see anything glaring that I'm doing incorrectly, as I am getting no picture or sound at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (sorry the images are rotated). Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I didn't want to bother @Bryan, as he seems quite busy, but I'm wondering if there's an actual drawn schematic for the UAV board installation on both light sixers (2600) and the 4-switch woodgrain, Vader and Jr? I just purchased a few from Bryan and I'm ready to give it a go. I'm getting more familiar with the functionality of the components on the board, but I'm obviously not completely proficient yet. found a few diagrams, including this photo:
and this diagram
Has anyone put together a relatively easy to use diagram for a typical installation with typical grounding scenario (as i know this is problematic on the 2600) for these basic VCS units?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I recently obtained a 7800 via a lot I purchased. Initially, while the game video and audio were working fine, there was a ton of static on top of the game audio. I went into the RF board with a hex wrench and adjusted the video/audio output and finally got it to where everything appears perfect. I wanted to run the 2600 diagnostic cart from the Harmony Cart, but for some reason, this is the only cartridge that will not function on my 7800.. I've tried 2600 and 7800 games, probably about 8 of them, all work perfectly.
I will also say I have a modded 7800 that i use as my primary 7800 and my HC works perfectly in that.
Is there a known issue with the HC working on a non-modded 7800? I can't imagine a reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
Does anyone have a reasonably priced copy of HERO duplicate in their collection they're looking to sell or trade?
I have a ton of manuals/catalogs as well as some decent duplicates for trade/sale as well.
Thanks!

Heavy Sixer Serial Number Thread

Bumping up this thread, as I was trying to determine how old one of my heavy sixer's is.. I have a CIB beautiful Sears Heavy Sixer with matching PS, paddles and CX40 sticks (unsure if they were packed with CX10's or CX40's). This one I've got up on eBay - it's beautiful but I already have two player consoles and don't really need another. That one is 79351T.
The second one I just purchased in a bundle. It's currently filthy and not functioning. I believe the voltage regulator is shot and needs some general maintenance but should be able to get it up and running shortly. Picked this up for $30 with 25 games! lol. Love these kinds of hauls. This one's serial # is 94110E, which seems pretty early.
