  1. Probably the label fell off and the person who put it back wanted access to the screw for some reason maybe they were swapping the boards out. If you like it good on you it is the oddities / variations that make collecting fun.
  2. Two questions, will you have at least the sub set Title, Publisher, date available for download in CSV? Second Is there a story behind that disclaimer?
  3. So what is your interest with the Sears exclusive games? What are you trying to glean from this information?
  4. I was born after the crash so the Nintendo NES was synonymous with video games early on. I did hear that there was a video game console before the NES and it was almost a mythical system. I then later received an Atari from a neighbor and it was good, but I didn't have the av connector and reallied on the NES's rf adapter and it basically looked horrible so it didn't get much use. Then two years ago I looked into how the games work and what games were made for the system and the relative cheap cost of said games made collecting for it fun and given the simpleness of most games and the pick up and play nature made playing them fun. The alternate controllers such as paddle controller made the gaming experience something even modern gaming systems can't replicate which drew me in even further. Then the crazy things such as Nintendo and Sega both having games for the system including a Mario game and other oddities that the VCS's a point in gaming history.
  5. Was ET okay given the ambition and limited time maybe is it really fun heck no and to claim it is a great game is a known controversial statement. People know that that is a disputed claim.
  6. There are some games most people know are garbage, and some games that simply are known to be good games. That being said that doesn't trim down much of Activision or iMagic games. ET was never know to be a great game, there are few people that would take a pass on Kaboom or Tapper for ET. This isn't anything too controversial here, most people would know a bad game from a good game.
  7. I said the games aren't bad, ET therefore is disqualified. Also on M-Network price isn't necessarily an issue Burgertime is a Scarce M-Network game
  8. It is a top selling / producing publisher I will narrow it down to the top 3 Activision, Atari and iMagic. This game also isn't bad
  9. I will be periodically updating to show the number of correct guesses so far, beyond that all I will say is there are no prototypes in this mix and no bad/boring games. Happy hunting!
  10. Okay I will periodically give a number of total correct guesses so far.
  11. So here is the game, guess the games first to guess two out of three wins. The three carts are a Dactar pirate cart of a game from an popular atari publisher. The second is a m-network game and the third is an Activision game. So here is the picture of the Mystery games.
  12. One of these Sears enthusiast might know, I bet there is one in your area that may have a collection of old catalogs.
  13. I have an older loose cart version of Steeplechase, it is a text cart variant so it is older and reads "6 Tele-Games". The program content is copyright 1980 and the serial number on the cart is 4975126 I hope that helps.
  14. So by now there are tones of adapters and USB type controllers that can replace the joystick controller, are there any controllers or adapters for the paddle controllers? What is the best know Computer equivalent to the paddle controllers? If there aren't is anyone aware of any projects that make use of GPIO on the raspberry pi to allow the paddle controller to work? Mind you I am not looking to emulate any games I don't own and am not endorsing others doing so as well. I mainly want to have a portable system I can load my games up and play hook up easily to a modern TV.
  15. I have every one of them but Motorodeo, I never saw one out in the wild.
  16. So are you a big Epyx fan? How much better is Medieval Mayhem and is there a 1 player option?
  17. So the paddle knob on the VCS version is unnecessary?
  18. What would you consider to be the best party games for the real VCS. Homebrew is allow, I heard people talking about warlords and Mark from Classic Game Room mentioned Steeplechase. What are your go to games?
  19. So I received an Atari 2600 a while back and in the box was this. They seem to be chips but I have no cart to plug them in. Was piracy widespread when the 2600 was in it's prime and what would this be plugged into? Here is another picture mind you I own proper carts for all of these titled carts. I am just interested on how this process worked. What are your thoughts or information on this, have any of you found anything like this when collecting?
  20. Make your own from a arcade joystick, an arcade button and an extension controller cable. You can make a solid box for housing out of MDF boards.
