Those are great!

Does anyone know of a list of games that lets you search for games based on whether it's Atari Inc. or Atari Corp that produced them?I list mine out separately like that in my db - much easier for a label variation freak like me.
I once proposed that "Atari Inc" and "Atari Corp" be listed as separate companies in the AA db, but a cool reception ensued.

What AA lists as "standard" came first, "blue" came later.

Video games make a good hobby, not a good investment.Exactly. I collect these things because I get a kick out of it, not because I'm looking for a solid investment.

BTW: do you have any pictures/scans of that Space Mission?I thought it was an ad cart only?
I don't have scans, but it exists - sskatari2600 (ebay id) has one. I've been trying to get him to sell it for years!

How about:
Atari text label Space Mission
Atari text label Space Combat
Atari Berzerk '82 picture label-yellow main label text
Atari Berzerk '85 picture label-blue main label text
I only know of one each of these.
There are plenty more on my list, but I can't confirm their existence.

Just curious what everybody thinks is the most irritating oddball cartridge case design to deal with in terms of the storage/display of your collection. Obviously, this only applies to loose collections.
edit: Supercharger cassette added to poll. I should have put that in there to begin with - sorry.

Alphabetical by manufacturer, just like the list in my sig.

Human Race - This was a budget title and very hard my brother and I spent a couple of days just trying to get past the second level.Mastertronic made some really great games for the money, but they were some of the hardest games I've ever played gave up on in my life!
-
No emulation - I have a Jiffy-DOS'd SX-64 standing by in the closet, so that's simple enough to hook up when I need a fix.
Times of Lore
Legacy of the Ancients
Legend of Blacksilver
World Championship Karate
Bruce Lee
Dino Eggs
Good times!

From the look of those labels, Jordy's game cleaner = dishwasher.

"has sound"

Regarding LotA, anyone knowing what happened to "Quest Inc."? After Legend of Blacksilver and Questron 2 they seem to have just disappeared from view.Quest Software folded not too long after Legend of Blacksilver came out.
I never got into Questron, but LoTA & Blacksilver were outstanding!

Come on Crunchy cash in that retirement fund and take one for the team!

Magicard (Computer Magic label) +1

I bought it. I made him an offer some time ago - less than his last asking price.

Could a thread possibly get more off topic?

I've always liked the Atari version of Phoenix better than the arcade game. It feels smoother and easier to control.I think I'm going to go play it now.

-DS-
Yup, I was going to say Phoenix as well.
-
Mindscape Powerplayer - I still use it.
Honorable mention for the 500xj & TAC-2

I'd say there are plenty of label variants yet to pop up - especially Sears.

There just isn't any reason for American collectors to go the other way...a lot of the PAL stuff is pirate junk (which just doesn't interest me, personally). But it does interest some American collectors. If you're in it for the label variations like I am, obtaining every strange PAL version is a black pit of despair . . . . but one worth exploring.

-
PAL cartridges are great! (although the sheer number of them scares the hell outta me
) It won't be much longer where they'll probably be the entire focus of my buying.Besides, it's pretty cool getting stuff in the mail from all over the world, especially when the seller packs with local newspapers - I get a kick out of those!

In my experience, it's very rare for an original, locking style dustcover Atari cart not to work on the first try - they're extremely bulletproof. The open designs from later Atari releases and virtually all third party companies usually require cleaning or at least multiple plug-ins.
One thing you gotta say about Atari is that their original consoles & cartridges were really built to take a beating.

New titles for old 2600 classics!
