How do You shoot??
Fire button doesn't do it. I just stroll around as a target. lol

Give up.
If you are having problems even getting started, you are not prepared for the headaches MAME has in store for you.
I haven't seriously used MAME in years. It's not worth it any more.
VERY sound advice
Thank U. Wp

Still no luck. Created folder etc.
This thing is MUCH harder than Stella to use. Stella is EASY all u do is drag a rom from the stella rom folder into the Stella icon on my desktop and....BAM there is your game! Try it with MAME and all U get is an error screen and a buncha stress.

You are asking how do you find a folder? I'd think that this topic is more about unfamiliarity with an O.S. than Mame

How to use Windows Explorer:
I know how to FIND my folders. Problem is there is no folder there. No folder I can find says anything about MAME Roms. Only when I open MAME there are little folders on the left side of the app but that is all.

How do You find the folder to put the roms in for MAME? I see the little folders when you open the app but you cannt drag a ROM into them. Also cant find a folder for it in startup menu.

It does it with every ROM I try. Is there something I need to do to the ROM's first?
I downloaded the emulator and hit F5 and tons of games are listed but none of them work.
Wp

Try downloading a freely available ROM like The Adventures of Robby Roto & see if that works.
I did.
I tried the ROM's that came packaged with it and the ones I got from other sites and all of them have the same error message.

Got MAME32 downloaded but everytime I try a ROM it starts to load and then I get a box saying "ERROR Required files are missing game cannot be run". WTF?? Games load around 64 percent then the fuggin box shows up.

After all these years I STILL have not gotten MAME to run on my computer.
I download the exe file just like I do with Stella and it downloads but no installation wizard ever appears...WTF??
How the hell do you install the thing??
I am running Windows 2000 on this laptop so could the aged system be my problem??
Wp
Have you tried using a Front End for MAME like MAMEUI?or MAME32FX?
I have not but I shall seek them out. Thanks

Oh Vicar of the Fonz temple...your enduring faith and devotion may yet be rewarded. Not only will I soon be in possession of a mint, original Fonz machine...mayhap the last of its kind (just saw it Friday and its beautiful even though it was stuffed way back in a storage unit...but a friend thinks he maybe able to deseminate the teachings of Arthur Fonzarelli to the masses one day, if you know what I mean.
Tom
That would TRULY be a miracle
Very exciting things to come!

I had no idea there was an nonexistent Fonz hack movement going on. No t-shirts that say "I'm with Fonz hack", no protester signs, no spammy Facebook petitions. Nothing.
NONEXISTENT?????
I had "Join The Fonz Hack Movement" as my sig for five friggin years!
That is how I became Vicar of Fonz

One thing I have noticed is that there are several new faces showing up on AA. I wonder how much Tanman's Air Raid sale has to do with that.
Just watched the news interview. Awesome stuff! It makes me think of those times when dad would get new 2600 games for us.
Well I have been away for a few years but that auction bought me back and i'm ready to start adding to my collection again.
Did U get in on the Air Raid auction?
We were talking about your Ford's earlier in this thread.
Welcome back.

Holy Cakes! Let the moron pay the listing fee. There will be no bids on that thing.

i wonder why the men-a-vision fans often write "pride" on their flags .... the company only released one game

....spits ramen noodles on the screen
I will say that I am thrilled that Wonder won the auction.
First off he is a good dude and a LOYAL Atari fan and secondly he bought my Glitched Seawolf so.....now my Seawolf and Air Raid are likely in the same room ...part of my collection is now part of the boxed Air Raid collection
