  1. I remember that first commercial. They played it all the time on local TV when I was a kid. Haven't thought about it in years.
  2. This is the most FANTASTIC GAME! I am becoming addicted to it bigtime. Ryu has had a name change to "Goho Li" and you end up fighting a Playboy Bunny, a Sylvester Stalone clone and a guy named "Pasta" One of the best fighters on the Famicom/NES in my opinion. Absolutely love it.
  3. 2 hours of Street Fighter IV (Pirate) for the Famicom 1 hour of Princess Rescue for VCS
  4. Colony 7 Seawolf Gunfight Wolfenstein Next Mission Crazy Balloon Climber 5 Ladybug Berzerk VE Star Fire Phantom II/Pirate Conquest of Mars Hunchy II
  5. NES Super Mario Bros 4 hours Super Mario World (Pirate) 4 hours Kid Niki Radical Ninja 1 hour Bad Dudes 30 minutes P.O.W. 20 minutes Atari 2600 Reindeer Rescue 1 hour Centipede 40 minutes Pac Man 4K 20 minutes Android Flappy Bird 30 minutes Bingo Pinball Dragon 20 minutes Chocolate Pinball 30 minutes
  6. I have been using the same 2600 four switch since September 1982 and it has never broken down once. God knows how many hours of gaming on that old console.
  7. I would suggest just finding good emulators and good controllers. That is how I play NES all the time now and 2600 three fourths of the time.
  8. Could well be a ROM with issues. I watched a guy play on You Tube and he selected the player he wanted from the title screen but of course did not show HOW to do it.
  9. That looks pretty much the same as the one I bought except mine is the Tomee brand. I am VERY impressed with it so far. So cool to use part of my old NES
  10. Anyone ever played this game? I cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how to choose my fighter at the beginning screen. I want to use Ryu but everytime I hit any button it goes on into the game without letting me choose. Give it a go and see if U can figure out what I can't.
  11. I had been playing my NES emulator on my laptop using a Playstation style controller from Radio Shack which I have had for a few years and also play Stella with but decided games like SMB really really need to original pad or they just feel all wrong so I looked around and found some USB NES style controllers and decided to go down to the local game store and pick one up since they were cheap enough. I picked up one of the USB controllers and noticed they also carried a Tomee NES to USB cable and decided to go with that instead of the new USB controller. I brought it home got it set up and plugged one of my old NES gamepads in and it works like a charm. I believe I made the right choice because a 27 year old Nintendo controller is surely a better made controller than a new NES style gamepad made in China. Anyone else use the adaptor or had any experience with the new controllers?
  12. People born after Atari's heyday just cannot ever understand what Atari was to us Gen X'ers. It was escape, it was fantasy, it was having an arcade in your bedroom. When I was 12 and got my Atari was and always shall be my best birthday and today at 45 my original console is still alive and I have Stella on my laptop and 2600Emu on my phone and tablet. You can never explain to those people who never saw a 2600 commercial on TV what it all means. It's like trying to explain Rock N Roll to a deaf person or sex to a Baptist
  13. Donkey Kong VCS homebrew, Star Voyager and Spider Fighter have been my post-Thanksgiving games of choice.
  14. This is AMAZING!! Does it shut down at level 256?
  15. WOW!!! Thanks! I had missed the 8k version entirely! It's beyond amazing.
  16. Since January 2005 so I don't remember it But Im still a forum vet.....right??
  17. With the Pac 35th anniversary this week I have been playing Pac Man on Stella and of the two Pac homebrews I know of I am having a hard time choosing between PacMan 4k (Debro) and the ROM I got on this site called "PacMan26004k" by another programmer whom I can't remember their name. both are miles and miles ahead of VCS Pac and even VCS Ms Pac. Anyone else know both games and do u have a fav?
  18. I used to be against emulation and compared it to phone sex....BUT my mind has changed. When I played Pong or Atari or NES back years ago it was the GAMES I enjoyed not the plastic that made them spin. I love emulation and although I have real hardware also I love love love my Stella emulator and my VCS, NES and Gameboy emulators I have on my phone and tablet. Playing adventure on my VCS and CRT TV and playing it on my laptop are pretty much the same to me. Count me in as pro emu
  19. Over the years it would be Adventure or Space Invaders.
  20. I don't know if this is the proper place to discuss the Pinball Arcade version of Big Shot and if not feel free to move this thread. What do you guys think of this one?? It seems I have MORE balls go STDM on Big Shot than ANY pinball I have ever played! I bet in it's quarter (or nickel) eating days it left a lot of pissed off consumers. Any tricks to it I am missing? Whats the general opinion of this table.
  21. My birthday in September 1982. I still have the same console hooked up in the spare room.
  22. You are right. I don't consider myself a "casual gamer" but an Atari Stalwart who has been playing 2600 for 34 years and my on the go Atari gaming is via 2600.emu on my phone or my daughter's tablet.
  23. Pac Man 2600 4K 50 minutes (VCS) Flappy 60 minutes (VCS) Adventure 20 minutes (VCS) SMB 15 minutes (NES)
  24. My high is 30 Love the difficulty level of Flappy Bird. I got in late on the craze and first downloaded a clone in the Google Play store which was ok but then I found the real APK ad free which is much better. Love it.
