I think everyone should be FORCED to tell their age, we're not gettin any younger so we should just deal with it
-
So I take it there's no way to just "guess your way through" level 256?
-
Ok , looks like I am gonna have to "sweeten the deal" a bit I am willing to throw in an unopened 8track tape titled "Fonzie Favorites" with a big picture of the Fonz on front to the brave soul who can pull this off

What do you think is the greatest hack created?

How did the arcade in North America 'die'?
sandmountainslim replied to titus's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I live in a town of 1200 people and I remember in the early eighties we had THREE arcades on Main Street plus the Quick Mart and grocey store had a handful of games also One of the arcades soldiered on until around 1994 or so and I had a good time playing Rolling Thunder and whatnot in the late 80s era but like an earlier post said none of the arcades were really "Family friendly" we went there with the pie in the sky idea that we were gonna get laid , drank beer behind the building and smoked dope in the parking lots all the while dropping a hell of alot of quarters in those old machines. Nowadays the only arcades I know of are in the mall and are mostly for young children and morons who drop change in those damn "quarter slides off the edge" contraptions, How I miss the good ole days -
I dunno about that Inky, Trigun is now claiming ownership of Team Savage along with everything elso on AA

So am I correct in assuming Hangly Man coin ops are worth muchos more than a Pac Man in the same condition?

Best joysticks, on a budget or otherwise?
sandmountainslim replied to mitsubachi's topic in Atari 2600
Its the Slik Stik all the way for me It seems to give you better control over the games than anything else I have tried. -
Video Custer, I dunno I have never played the game so I dont know if the rape allegations are true or not As for the Real life Custer he was just another evil Yankee raider, what more can I say?
-
Hmm , I think I will get it then , it is in a black cart so I dont suppose it is rare but probably worth five anyway I do loves some Pac Man
-
Damn sure worked on me, it made me put my PS2 in the closet! I might play the NES a couple times weekly but I play that damned old Vader EVERY day, damn nefarious contraption
-
How close to the arcade game is Tengen PacMan for the NES? A game store down the road has it for five bucks but I didnt know how many liberties had been taken with the NES version. Is it a mess like Atari made for the VCS? Is it a good direct port? Thanks for any info.

Geez talk about necromancy, this thread had been rotting in its grave for almost three years. What wizardry are we to thank for this?
-
He said it!! He said "Hardwork" That is the final clue I knew the Savage Team wasn't down and out! Trigun is speaking in code and dropping hints to those "In the know" and "Warm to Basic" My faith lives anew!
-
Trigun is either a member of Team Savage running a bluff to distract us from their Opus Magnus or he is an evil foe of Team Savage attempting to steal their glory I don't know which but either one is an alarming occurance.

Level 256 of Pac Man, passable or not? I have been reading somewhat on the Billy Mitchell versus some kid who got a letter from the President controversy and was curious as to what everyones theories on the subject were.
-
Whoa!! We cannot let this thread dwindle away What if Hardwork or another member of the Savage Team logged on and didn't see it at the top? We would be up Shit Creek thats what! I dare say if we let this one die we dont deserve to play Knight Rider when it comes out next year 2006 is almost here Just a few months to go! Go Team Savage!!

None of the above. The greatest Sega arcade game never ported is none other than....... FONZ Thats my vote.

Has there ever been a hack or homebrew that attempts to fix Donkey Kong for the VCS and make it more like it should be? Donkey Kong was one of my favourite game in the arcades and I got the Atari/Coleco cart for Christmas when it came out but I have never really enjoyed playing it , it is just so different what with the Gingerbread Man replacing the ape and having only two levels and all. I thought maybe someone had attempted to put it right and I could look that up
-
Geez that link is horrible Like a Rotten.com for videogames. Does anyone have a pic of a Hangly Man Cabinet? I looked it up on KLOV but they have no photos.

So when Ms Pac became a hit Namco just gave up on Pac Man? That would explain why the missus is so much easier to find
-
What happened to all the Pac Man machines? When I was a kid every 7-11 and grocery store around as well as the arcades had a big yellow Pac Man machine in every corner but nowadays I dont know where to find one. Ms. Pacman can still be found fairly easy as I know of 3 restaurants within ten miles of my house that still have Ms Pac machines set up, but where did Pac Man go? Were all the Pac Man machines converted to Ms Pac in the eighties? Also what is Hangly Man? I know it is a Pac variant but was it a common machine to find in the arcades? I dont remember ever seeing one but whenever Pac Man is mentioned online Hangly Man is usually in the same breath. Any help appreciated

I was thinking more of a Pac-Sequel rather than a faithful rendition of the arcade, especially with the bonus stage Alien has, might be cool.

Atari Announces Flashback 2.0
sandmountainslim replied to Jetboot Jack's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I know this is dumb but could someone explain "internal cartridge slot" to me? Will there be a cart slot hidden in the machine somewhere? Will we have to buy one or cannibalize an old VCS? I dont understand, please fill me in.
