    Is a ROM available without the tasteful bars?

    So far the only release without the bars was a "sneak preview" Atari User did with the last issue.

     

    I'm not against releasing the full goods in the thread, if Al is good with it. I'll send him a PM and see what he says.

    Been getting my Asteroids fix by playing these two games on Stella.

    Meteoroids is an earlier version of Suicide Mission and a good Asteroids vector clone and Asteroids Arcade is a hack of Asteroids with many changes to make it more like the arcade version including vector like graphics.

     

    Of the two I think I will have to say I like Asteroids Arcade the best because in Meteoroids the UFO does not shoot it just sort of flies by and looks at ya.

     

    Which of the two do U prefer?

    I highly suggest both games.

    Jeez, 12:03? It was just that easy? I thought of this around 11:55, but figured there'd be 15 guys posting at exactly 12:00. The title was pretty much handed to you. :sad:

    Well, I'm a bit bummed I didn't get that 1st post. I had it queued up too, but I guarantee the missus wouldn't have taken kindly being told to "wait a second - I have to go make a post". I sacrificed for the greater good :D

     

    Crap!!! I missed it too and I am the Thread Bump Champ of 2007! I had hoped for comeback this year...oh well.

    Let me clarify myself.

    When I say I have "switched totally to emulation" I mean for the Atari 2600 only. I assumed since this thread was in the VCS section that is what it meant. For other consoles I still use the real hardware but for Atari I use the Stella because I dig it and its right here on my desktop and I can play it anytime and I get to playtest new games in development.

    I wish someone would make a Christmas Game for the VCS where U play the Three Wise Men and you have to fight off desert rogues, Roman Authorities and Demons and get the Frankincense and Myhrr etc to take to Baby Jesus.

    Each of the wise men could count as a life in the game and it would be a good companion to Red Sea Crossing.

    Yeah Reindeer Rescue has four stages and then ends. It'll take ya a while to master it and beat it though.

     

    And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has never reached "Christmas Day" on Toyshop Trouble.

     

    And Merry X-Mas to all my fellow Atari peeps!

    This thread reminded me of Reindeer Rescue so I have been playing it with my daughter :) Great game.

    Okay here is a reworked "Circus Galacticus" that includes many of the same concepts and controls from "Redshirts." Use the select switch at the character selection screen to select a different gladiator. The gladiators begin with different balances of speed versus armor, and will ultimately vary in weapon range as well.

     

    I've put in 9 very basic kill-or-be-killed levels, after which the game will simply reset. After a you kill or die, press the fire button after a few seconds to either move on to the last level (if you won) or return to the Title Screen (if you lost).

    I hate to see Red Shirts abandoned BUT I love this new Circus Galacticus. My favorite build so far.

    This is without a doubt one of the most fun Atari games I have played all year :)

    Can't wait to see it progress! I have been playing it everyday after work and I love the latest build.
