  1. Been playing Star Voyager today and boy it is an addictive little game, I have owned it for weeks but just go around to playing it today, I still havent figured out the purpose of the missiles fired from the #2 joystick yet as far as I can tell they just use up all your energy and I do just fine only using stick #1. Anyone have any insight or musings on this game? I think I will go ahead and declare it one of my favourites.

  2. I am 34 so naturally I have memories of both systems, the VCS from my preteen and early teen years and the NES from high school however recently say the past three weeks or so I have found myself playing the NES more than the Atari, maybe its just because I bought a Game Genie, I hope thats all it is as I am starting to feel guilty about it, anyone else go thru fits of NES and recover from it?

  3. Ok I bought a power supply at a thrift today and it does work however the bad news is there are NO built in games on the Super Joy but I plugged in the multicart that came with my Power Joy and it works fine, now I gotta try to find some more famiclone multicarts any ideas where to pick those up?

  4. Hello Folks, I picked up a famiclone at a thrift today it is red and has "Super Joy" written on it however the battery door is missing and it didnt come with a power supply so I havent been able to try it out, my question is will an NES power supply work on this thing or is altogether different? Any help appreciated, I only gave a dollar for it but still would hate to blow it up.

  5. Ok this is probably something everyone knows except me but I was at a thrift today and say a Sega Genesis that was about one fourth the size of the ones I usually see, it was not much bigger than a Sony Discman or similar device, question is is this something I should return and buy? It was ten dollars and most Genesis I see around four or five bucks so is this one worth more? Thanks for any info.

  6. Yeah its the same here ya might find a scattered NES here or there if you go to every thrift in fifteen counties (which I do) I have managed to pick up five of em in the past couple months two working, Ive also picked up six or seven 2600 games from the goodwill but its mostly Genesis stuff which is a dime a dozen so if you like Genesis and sports games I live in Nirvana otherwise it is drying up quick (with my help).

  7. Ok folks thanks for the help but I give up, I downloaded winzip and attempted to download z26 and stella but it is all friggin Sanskrit to me, cant do a &*%$$ thing with it I suppose I am not meant to emulate, think I will go fire up my VCS before I kick this computer and its damn winzip thru the front glass.

  8. Ok folks Im new to this, I have downloaded Winzip so I can open files but was wondering if someone could post a link to a simple emulator for 2600 games but I need something a computer simpleton like myself can figger out, I went to the Stella page but couldnt find where it said "download" so any help would be appreciated as I really wanna try emulation out.

  9. I would Nukes but I cannnot open files for emulators I have tried and tried, whenever I go to the Winzip webpage it always asks me for thirty bucks or so, are there no other way to unzip them?

  10. Well I ordered Seawolf today after reading Stan Jr's review of it, I am really looking forward to recieving this cart cuz if its half as good as I hear it is it has to be one awesome game. One question I have though is does the 2600 version have the "Sonar" sounds the old coin op game had? This will be the second homebrew I have owned with Climber 5 being the first so I hope I dont have my hopes up too high on this game.

  11. Geez Nova enuff of the insults already! I recant! I shall give the game another try this afternoon when I finish playing Othello, if Stan says its decent I must be missing something I suppose I was just expecting more from a game with 1988 stamped on the label. Sorry if I jumped the gun a bit.

  12. Just reread my post and it is VERY negative sounding, perhaps I should say something good about a game, I also bought Othello at a thrift and it is indeed fun and awesome much more than I expected it to be. So there Sandmountainslim isnt all doom and gloom huh?

  13. Well I think I have bought what has to be the worst VCS game ever it is called Desert Falcon and it is the ugliest stupidest game I have ever tried to play, this pieza makes Fireworld and 3D tic tac toe look cool! I only gave a dollar for it so I suppose it will sit in my collection as filler cuz thats about all its good for. The funny thing is its a red label game with a 1988 date on it ,who woulda thought garbage like that could have came out that late? Anyhoo anyone else played this one? Would love to hear your take on it.

  14. Ok, been a pretty good week for me at the thrifts/goodwills, last week I picked up a "Power Joy" with a chinese multicart for three bucks and this week I got the 2600 games Othello, Desert Falcon, Dig Dug, 3D Tic Tac Toe and Golf for one dollar each however week before last I picked up Frogger 2 for two bucks so maybe my thrifting is going downhill?
