  1. The Virtua Fighter Tiger handheld is alright, so I'd assume its R counterparts are worth looking into...
  2. Mortal Kombat, Space Invaders, and Final Fight gameplay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC2kmBpeY1w
  3. How the hell is NOBODY talking about the tiny Ninja Turtles Arcade Pinball machine? https://youtu.be/9A3oA57ZXTY?t=99 Not only AtariAge, but I can't find anyone, anywhere discussing it. To me, it is by far the most impressive mini arcade yet, assuming they packed PinMAME in it or similar.
  4. MAME has some exceptions, but for the most part, games run great with it. I also doubt Game Room of all things runs better than MAME. Both it and Atari Vault also have input lag, and I believe neither support paddles/trackballs. Neither should be brought up when talking about accuracy. You likely need to use older versions of MAME for certain games, because it can be indistinguishable from a real arcade. How many times were high scores obtained on MAME falsely accepted by Twin Galaxies on their arcade hardware leaderboards? And not including kill screens present in the original arcade? No way. Maybe add "cheats" to fix kill screens, but leave the original code alone. Re: Filler games. To clarify, I'd love a high game count. And if it fits in the arcade genre, throw in both console versions of arcade games and console-only games. All I'm saying is that Arcade games should be given priority and AtGames' "Bonus Games" need to be retired.
  5. You're taking my suggestion and use of perfect too literally. I want the bugs present in the original arcade code. I'm requesting that they use something like MAME with decent hardware to ensure MAME is running as smoothly as it can. Having shovelware on AtGames IS a problem, though. No matter where they lie, reviewers always dock points on their product when they're included. And with game titles like Mr. Balls, can you really blame them? It's like including a free poop emoji headrest with a new 2019 Lexus. It might be free, but it only serves to cheapen the overall experience. As for home versions, that's a big disagree from me. If it's in an arcade cab, I want the arcade game. Ms. Pac Man Genesis has better gameplay, sure, but the graphics and resolution are awful compared to the original. Ports back then were give and take.
  6. Perfect emulation, along with including the best versions of each game (ex. Arcade 1942 instead of NES 1942) is all I'd ask for to be very interested. Also do not include terrible bootleg shovelware titles just to increase the game count. I understand a $20-30 product not being able to emulate everything perfectly (though third generation games should be perfect at this point), but a full sized arcade machine that costs (likely) over $300 MSRP? Flawless emulation is a must.
  7. Seems like the Street Fighter II cocktail will be $400-500 MSRP. Dang. I think I'll look into getting a cab built for my Pandora's Box stick instead...
  8. I'd be interested in a Street Fighter II Wallcade or Countercade if the price is right. I get SFII is a 2-Player game, but I wouldn't mind having easy access to CE/ST on my wall to kick the computer's ass whenever I want. And in both cases, Street Fighter II would be the best shell to throw my MiBox in if I go the modding route.
  9. The sound is a little fast and a pitch low, but it doesn't have any impact on Gameplay. I'm not the best Sonic player, but both SSFII and Comix Zone seem to run perfectly fine. The games play far better on the 156 than the 2017 AtGames Flashback HD (which I ended up returning). 156's Screen is closest to the full color TFT Walmart Basic Fun screens used for Q-Bert and Centipede. There's no way to expand the game list, but I'd imagine Genesis/MD clones will start taking over the Famiclone market in the next few years with different sets of games.
  10. I created a wiki page for the new 156 in 1 Sega Genesis Mini Arcade. https://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/156_Arcade_Game The wiki page is objective, but my subjective opinion is that this is easily the best Mini Arcade currently on the market for the price and quality of games included. TMNT Hyperstone Heist and Super Street Fighter II alone make this thing heads and shoulders above the competition. It also manages to have a USB rechargeable battery to allow for USB-tethered or portable play, no AA/AAA batteries required! Only two drawbacks are its TFT screen has an awful viewing angle from the left side and the sound plays down a key, like AtGames' products. Framerate feels spot-on and the light-up marquee is a nice addition. Overall, for anyone that has yet to join the mini arcade craze, the 156 would be my first recommendation.
  11. Someone found Street Fighter II on MSI Entertainment's website! https://www.msientertainment.com/product-page/street-fighter-plug-n-play-tv-arcadeSeems to be the Genesis port of Champion Edition, echoing the Radica Plug and Play released over a decade ago. Seems like it's single player only as well. I'm still interested, but have to say, I'm disappointed with it being A/V out and the Genesis port of all things. While on their site, I noticed some other new games in MSI's lineup. https://www.msientertainment.com/productsNamco Classics and Midway Classics are ones I haven't seen posted before. If I didn't have Namco Museum on Switch, I'd be picking up Namco Classics for Tower of Druaga.
  12. I found this mini Street Fighter II Arcade Stick PnP in GameStop's holiday ad, but cannot find it online or in my local stores. Anybody know what's on it?
  13. I was going to make a new thread to ask this, but wondered if a scan has been made available for purchase since this thread was made? I'm not able to handle physical books well, and only can read from my computer. I ask mainly because Amazon has a "Look Inside!" partial scan of Gamer's Guide on their paperback listing, consisting of 10 pages.
  14. Cool, thanks for letting me know. In that case, especially since the code already exists, there could be an endless mode where you keep getting bombs so long as you continue to hit score targets.
  15. Thanks. Wouldn't the max score be 60; 4 points x 15 bombs? I guess the underlying issue I'm getting at is a max score is easy to obtain with tons of patience. It all comes down to waiting for the ideal game state before dropping a bomb. I'm sure someone here more patient than myself could get 60 points in no time. A timed endless mode would be more fun to compare scores against one another and should have a fairly high skill ceiling with some RNG involved. Then again, I'm a score chaser, so if you'd rather the game cap at a set amount of points, that's cool. I'd still recommend putting a timer somewhere on screen to break ties, though.
  16. I've done some retro accessibility mods for the 16-bit era, but you went way back! I enjoyed playing Bombs Away, especially on the Difficult mode. Scrolling looks great in motion and I was pleasantly surprised by the sky/speed changes. My only suggestion would be to add a time limit/endless mode or similar to add replayability. Once you know the trajectory of the bomb, it's incredibly easy to wait and get a maximum score. The game loop is solid; just give me a reason to keep playing.
  17. Gundam Versus on PS4 is extremely fun and is going to be localized next month. EXVS is my favorite fighting game series, so it's awesome to see it come stateside. I liked SD Capsule Fighters when it was out, but never got into too invested in it. Found a similar (non-Gundam) game early this year called Cosmic League, but it shut down shortly after I began playing it. We really need a good anime mecha game to be localized for the West. Shame Rise of Incarnates bombed so hard that Bandai Namco probably will never bring any 2v2 fighters to Steam again.
  18. Same. I'm more interested in the VFD handhelds than the ones running emulated ROMs. I already have a great emulation setup that plays NES Q-Bert and 7800 Centipede with more features than their handheld counterparts. I REALLY wish customizable controls were left in Q-Bert. The VFD games are unique and in my opinion, have the better aesthetic. I doubt emulated versions of these will be coming out any time soon, and regardless, they're not going to look better than on a real unit. I know Coleco Pac-Man and Donkey Kong look better on the real deal. I did end up with everything in this series except either Pac-Man (still looking for Color), but I'll say that VFD Frogger is definitely my favorite release at this point.
  19. Will the sound issues in the portable Flashback Genesis be fixed in 2017? I've been wanting one for years, but never have gotten one due to the terrible sound emulation I hear in reviews. I'm good on TV emulation, but would love to have a good dedicated handheld for Genesis games. Especially one with SD Card support! Also, this is my first post here, so greetings AtariAge community! Been lurking for years.
