I had to buy other copies of AA mag just because someone had cut out order forms in my first copies There is also two newspaper print versions-pre-magazine,now those are tough to find--saw one onebay about two years ago and it went over $100.Of course I threw all these paper items out at some point and had to get a lot of it back via ebay. I keep trying to get copies of Imagics numb thumb club magazines, but keep getting outbid....and the Activision coming attractions ads are also hard to come by.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3059481004 There's a couple more "hidden" in this auction too. -
Whoh, looks like skier addict blew this auction away! And I thought my bid was a little high...
-
Yeah, that's what I'd do too;I don't share well... But, seriously, this could get like the pharaoh's building pyramids for the after-life.I can just see it now;a huge 'heavy-sixer" shaped building/tomb/museum,with all the different game systems hooked up and ready to play inside. How long would it all last until the tomb raiders came and stole it all?
-
I emailed the seller telling 'em that they should have made a lot more money on this auction;of course, the response was "want to pay more?"

How about this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3053375820

How about Demolition Herby?I just played it this morning, and I'm lucky if I can get through the second screen.

Has anyone ever bought a lot with something missing?
dwh replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Auction Central
I just got a lot of 12 5200 games;the boxes are in great shape, but half the games in the boxes were 2600 titles(although the titles did match the title on the box!)There was also a boxed copy of the 2600 kids controller that was stuffed into the shipping box and was crushed a bit...Oh well, that's the risk of e-bay. -
Let's see...I've got 113 what I call 'independently released games'.Some of which are- Allia Quest boxed version Power Off!(anyone else have this;I bought it right before Hozer Vidio went away) 18 Hozer Vidio carts;since they ain't making anything anymore, I guess they're worth more now?Got three off ebay already. Obelix/Asterix(NTSC) on a Xonox double-ender cart&Ghostbusters 2(ntsc)(thanks CPUWIZ) And of course all the games released at all the classic shows...even the shows I do not get to attend. The only hardware I got worth mentioning is a boxed copy of the Cosmic Commander Control Unit.

Do You Collect Hardware, Box, and Instruction Variations?
dwh replied to sku_u's topic in Atari 2600
Yes;and I also got into getting the records with the booklets, and would like to get lucky on ebay and get some of the posters,and....well you get the point. -
That is 'different'.My ? is this-the LED just blinks on it's own;in other words can it be prompted by the software in any way?Nice project.

How much of your collection is stuff you owned as a kid?
dwh replied to Room 34's topic in Atari 2600
I had about 200 games, but I threw away the box that had the boxes and some magazines. So I got alot more loose carts in the last two years, and am now working on getting the boxes again. The best thing about collecting now is the new homebrew games, and 'reproduction' games,it's amazing what people can do with these old systems. -
Welcome aboard..I mostly collect for the 2600,since there is so much stuff out there(alot I can not afford...)I just branched out into the 5200 system, but the controllers I got are all crap(yes, all six of em).I have alot of Odyssey 2 stuff;once again, only missing the most expensive items...The other fun part of collecting is to also watch Ebay auctions go crazy, and wish you had the money to be right in there...
-
I was watching this one, but just got too expensive for me.I bid once ,but got blown away instantly.Maybe next time...
-
I also have a red label Yars Revenge NTSC.
-
Seems redundant,and expensive http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2558340969

My Atari 2600 Memories section is ready to be seen
dwh replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
The compressed air car engine sounds dangerous--since two compressed air plants have blown up in the US in the last two months--having compressed air canisters blow up is not my idea of having a "flying car". Oh yeah, great site... -
What is this item?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3537

Congrats. I also got my copy too! And a bag of those pins;had to laugh when I saw how "tiny" those pins were. But not laughing about Starfire; damn it's a wicked hard game; no way am I going to get 3500 points to get the patch....
-
So if I don't have Paypal, I can not get these games?!? "That's just Swell"
-
Very cool idea!Just like back in the day,in the back/end of the catalog,we can have the "coming soon" homebrews that have been listed here on this site for the last two years Don't get me wrong,I would not know how to program myself out of the many pits in ET,and would like to encourage all the programmers to continue their efforts.

I think the real value in collecting cartridge based vidio games is the fact that you can play and enjoy the games right now..not 20 years from now.Although I am finding myself buying some extra's of a few rare items to sell 20 years from now, because, yeah, the value is going to keep going up.(sure wish I had the $12k I "invested" in the stockmarket to buy more vidio game stuff)
