  1. OUCH! Only a year ago these arcade games were going for $500, now they want $1600 reserve prices. If you know electronics and could piece these games back together, you could do it much cheaper;but if you are like me,and don't know jack, then you gotta pay for the fully assembled & functional game...You can piece together these by buying the electronic boards/inst manuals/side art/button overlays/joystick-button units/cabinets...then put it all together.Good luck!

  2. Sounds like a new mold was made, thus making the carts slightly larger;or they were so cheap that they just 'retouched'/polished/ground-down the old molds, once again making the carts bigger.China has been making crappy molded parts since the early 80's.Companies are bringing their molds back to the USA from China to try to fix them nowdays; They saved/made a bunch of money going overseas and now they are paying big bucks to fix their mistake.Of course, the politicians that 'endorse' trade with China never 'lost' any money,as people lost jobs...

  3. How about the worst companies being the ones that just pirated/copied/ripped-off games, without ever making any original concept games at all.

I must agree with all that Mythicon is the worst company 'claiming' to have good original games.

I posted my link before looking at the 2600 hardware webpage here at atariage. Thanks for the correction and the tip;I'm mow watching that auction...

  5. Yeah, crowns are a 'pain', but it's gold right? It's sort of like having permanent jewelry in your mouth--until the crown falls out-which it will someday.

    (now before this goes off-topic)

Thrust is expensive&very popular at this time, but worth every penny.

  6. The rarest Indy 500 item to get is the sears version of a complete boxed set(game box+driver controller box)<--Correct me if I'm wrong here.

The Tramiels sure could not keep things straight then;but made messed up label variants for us to collect later.

  7. Several of the message board people here have a white label space shuttle that is NTSC format and will play on US/Canada TV's.So it's always worthwhile to get the white label carts to see which type they really are.

  8. I just started buying boxed games, and must write that ebay can be a pain for label/box variants just because you can not see the fine print on these items(if a picture is posted), unless the seller spells out exactly what it is.I have the silver label variants/release dates listed on my want lists, but it gets confusing. All in all, it opens up a new door to 'collecting'.I will also endorse Tom Young on ebay--most of the carts I'vs gotten with good labels come from him.

  9. I am planning to attend the Classic Gaming Expo at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. My question is this-is the Plaza Hotel nice to stay at,and is it just more convienyant to stay there anyway to attend the Expo?Did people that stayed there last year have a good experience staying at the Plaza Hotel?
