I had this happen sometimes when going back to the title screen. I think temp1=sfxoff() worked for me. Maybe repost that as a separate query in the bB forum ?
-
I'm using DPC+ on Dare Devil and also Tyre Trax with my roms set to NTSC and I don't see the same issue in Stella 6 Are you using anything like the title screen kernel? I found a couple of times I managed to cause that to screw up (my causing by not following the rules / settings) and I had roms picking up as PAL until I fixed my error. or maybe you are doing too much before the first drawscreen? hard so say without seeing the bin and or code.

new build attached at the top, V105 with a bunch of new stuff - follow the development http://atariage.com/forums/topic/286538-wip-dare-devil/ edit : this was built with the revised library so I hope with works with Encore carts without modification.
-
some gameplay footage of testing level 2 where the obstacles intermittently speed up and slow down. This build has 4 test levels, wind, birds and new obstacles Bin in the first post
-
This would be amazing to get something like this in bB, unlikely, but amazing all the same.

Thanks Keebz, appreciate the feedback. It's great for homebrewers to hear from folks who play our creations, makes the hours of work well worth it! I'll be adding a new build today / tomorrow
-
Thanks for updating Keebz!
-
I certainly hope so!
-
are you using Visual bB? You can set bookmarks to switch between areas of code you edit often.
-
Thanks Darrell. I've made the update as suggested & will upload a new bin later so that folks can check all is good. Thanks again for helping!
-
Thanks Cimmerian, Experimenting with the strengths, but I think it's probably fine as it is. Will have another update in the next day or 2 with a lot of extra assets and some of the new features.

Works on my regular Harmony cart. I don't have an Encore so can't test, maybe someone can confirm?

Recent Atari 2600 prices make it hard for collectors?
Muddyfunster replied to AlwaysOnPlanetPatrol's topic in Atari 2600
Ok, I just checked out of curiosity, Nearly every copy of Adventure is listed as "Ready Player One" edition or similar, cheapest boxed is currently £34,99 so around $44, loose cart is around £23 or $30 There is even one listed at £100/$126 for the Ready Player One Final Task edition.. Glad I picked up a boxed copy for my collection before things went stupid. -

Yup, cant beat the Adventure "Ready Player One, Retro Vintage Classic Atari Loft Find Edition". Prices for that game are still inflated on Fleabay in UK / Europe last time I checked. -
I don't think you can have 2 titlescreens present (1 for title screen and one for game over) but you could use this code provided by KarlG : http://atariage.com/forums/topic/282960-batari-basic-logo/?hl=%2Bsplash&do=findComment&comment=4164552 To allow a splash or game over screen as well as a title screen.

Those are great ideas Sramirez, thanks. I really like the boat one. I'm about 1/2 way through adding in some new sprites and making the sprites change by level or screen then I'll be working on the landing zones, so I'll probably update this weekend on that. Thanks everyone for the feedback and testing, it's really appreciated.

Thanks, I had a lot of guidance and help from time to time on these boards. I hope you keep going with Shark Jaws, I'm looking forward to seeing this develop.

Investigating genesis of horizontal div15 routine
Muddyfunster replied to DEBRO's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
I don't pretend to understand half of this (the assembly bits at least), but this is really fascinating, thanks for posting this. -
I would have liked to have seen some more categories as well, but like Splendid Nut said, a line has to drawn somewhere or you would end up with 35 different categories! I think KarlG's point is a good one, "Vanilla" games should probably have a category as they are usually quite a bit different from "assisted" games, but then how do we define "Vanilla"? 4k? 8k? no SARA or other addon RAM? It's a rather subjective topic. Ask 10 people, you will probably get 5 different answers. For the inaugural awards, I think this is ok and we should roll with it. Some ideas for the future (please read these constructively as no slight is meant or intended): Vanilla category of some description (good luck who ever takes on the task of defining "Vanilla", maybe a poll ? ) Solo vs Team - a game made by 4 people is still homebrew, but for me that's a bit different to a solo effort. I'm thinking like how music awards separate solo and bands I would also like to add that I really appreciate the folks organising this (Arenafoot and Cimmerian) and putting their time and effort in to making it happen, win lose or draw, it's going to be a lot of fun and that's the spirit in which I think it should be taken

Updated WIP build added, V88, now with added wind.
-
Build 88 has wind! (must have been the cheap fizz on New Year's Eve). The weathervane in the bottom left tells you the direction (level 0 has no wind). for this build, game number = level number so you can skip to level 2, 3, 4. etc.,

Starting to look really good ! I didn't mind the diver sound, as an alternative, try a sound that alternates on and off but gets faster as you run out of air / time.
-
I think it looks great with all its DPC goodness!
-
Dare Devil is missing from the list but I only uploaded the first public build on the 30th (although James had a sneak peak earlier!) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/286538-wip-dare-devil/ An earlier version of Tyre Trax was also demo'd at the AA booth at PGRE

Dare Devil is a reimagining / homage to / inspired by : Parachute Dare Devil is now complete. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/286538-wip-dare-devil/
