  1. Hello, It seems funny that all these portable units being created are salvaging old 2600 units to create them. It seems (from what I've read) that it all comes back to the TIA chip. Is there any reason why it couldn't be created on a Xilinx or Altera or PIC or X chip? I remember using the Altera chip back in college and they had a chip that you could drop an entire Motorola 68000 on. If they could do that a few years ago, I can't see why you couldn't do the 25 year old TIA on it. I am not a hardware engineer (actually software), but I just know enough to make intelligent sounding questions... Just wondering! Derek
