  1. ...spoiler.... After the first impression, i didnt liked the new intro music. But, thinking , the new musics are more oriental style. Maybe its better then. Great porting for the 8bit !!!... the only thing, its a pity only works in 320Kb, maybe in the future will have a solution. Good job!
  2. Who has a ROM image from Midi Maze, the first multiplayer game for 130XE Midi Maze
  3. YES !!! Commando... but I think you are very tired,... take your time... not hurry
  4. I tell you what I will do... I will use the TXT to find easily what software I have, I use the Sio2pc adaptor to get the image (pray for the integrity disk) and I send you for review. But really, I will surprised if I have anything "rare"
  5. It seems some software of this list appears in the Fandal or Homesoft site. Even I had some of them in my diskettes collection.... Are you sure dont have Pharaoh's Curse for example?
  6. Sometimes memory fails Practically Beach Head 1 is the same version in Atari 800 and C64.... well, some jerky colored text in the score could be a +1 point in the C64 version. Both version are old and lack of colors. Beach Heach 2 is from 1986, just when C64 was the top 8bit machine porting. But the Atari version is superior graphically by far. You right, Atari version dont include the speech effects, I think for Atari 800 (48K) compatibility. In overall is impresive the Atari version, using the color DLIs, multicolored sprites, sound efects...
  7. Dont say me FTP utilities is in Czech language......
  8. Well done Fandal... I played in the emulator and its cool! Ive tested in the NTSC system and only I can load in a good way with DOS 2.5 .... Great! Thanks for the work!
  9. In the emulator I cant apreciatte this. Maybe... are the lines mixed or my vision fails?
  10. What a beatiful graphics... im not sure how was made.... I think its a mixture of gr.9 + gr.11, isnt it? Why the interlaced lines? Kaleidoskop
  11. mmm... you right...interesting app... I must to read the instructions... will be work with 2 graphic games?...
  12. Well, this type of application arent multitasking. They are Task-switching, the best example that I used is GENIE program. Once you load in the memory you can load a game. After you pressed CTRL-SHIFT-ESC Atari keys, the game stop and GENIE appears at the screen, you have a notepad, a calculator and other things. Its a pity emulator GENIE cant work in the emulator. This combination of keys is tha same that Windows use to call the process list.
  13. I've played it but not extensively. What's you opinion on it? Graphics are similar. But has few frames per second, the animation is jerky.
  14. You forgot Asteroids II a clone for vectorial Asteroid game in high res.
  15. This is a list of Atari forums : Atari Age (English) Atari Chile (Spanish) Atariware Chile (Spanish) ABBUC (German) Atariarea (Polish) Atarimania (English) Anyone knows about other interesting Atari 8bit forums?
  16. I think PCWorld Editors considered C64 the same thing as Apple and Atari 6502 technology. Nothing new have the C64. In this way Apple II has been considered, and later Atari 800 only for his innovator chips architecture.
  17. PAL have 50 VBI per second and more cycles per single VBI. You can add more code in a VBI in PAL system. That an advantage. In other way, the 6502 CPU is more fast in NTSC system, so the main code runs more quickly. Because, the main factor of the game speed is the main code, then usually the games works faster in NTSC version. But, you can do aditional things in PAL version. Am i wrong?
  18. In fact. They are totally diferent. Jay Miner design the 2600, 800 and Amiga computers, the best 70', 80' and 90' systems. Meanwhile, Jack Tramiel destroyed the 8-bit market selling the C64 at low cost (under cost production), he creates the infamous "price war" that dropped down every great 8bit superior model, even Commodore was at the point to bankruptcy, after that he leaves to continue the bad managing in Atari (of Course Warner cant do it better, I think).
  19. PCWorld write an article about the best 25 computers of all time. The 25 Greatest PC of all time Our loved Atari 800 places at the 14th.
  20. Thanks, I fixed the Dlist with last line without VSCROL, now the dissapear efect looks good. I set the VBI as inmediate mode, and PAL scroll was fixed, but NTSC scroll still get jerky. Beacause I used in the same VBI routine the call at RMTPLAYER. Even if I use the RMTPLAYER outside the VBI, the scroll still looks jerky. Only if i remove the call to RMTPLAYER routine, the NTSC scroll gets fine. At last, I have a working PAL game scroll with music, and a working NTSC game scroll without music Is posible to use both VBIs, inmediate (for VSCROL update) and deferred (for RMTPLAYER) ?
  21. I have a screen, first line is static GR.0,. rest of lines Gr.12 with VSCROL. Beacause a scroll the screen I need 2 poniters to refresh the screen: - The top scanline pointer - The middle scanline pointer who save the initial top screen memory address. My Dlist is: as the scroll go on, then change at: Even I had Changed the VSCROL in the main code, and now its inside the VBI code. Perhaps I need to change the DLIST inside the VBI too. The problem is only with fine scrolling, I saw all right with coarse scroll.
  22. Another strange thing in my Atari. I design a game with vertical scroll. Works fine in the emulator in PAL mode. But when i test in NTSC mode the screen flicks (like shadows). I saw this happens with some comercial PAL games with scrolling when I tested in my NTSC machine. But in the programming I cant explain why this happens. I use fien vertical scroll in gr.12 mode. What are the basic concepts to modify to get both versions working fine? Thanks
  23. Thanks, At 26 continuosly hours working my brain was off. After sleep, I saw its very easy to fix problems.
  24. Well done!, cool logic game. It's very nice, but like Heaven said... PM overlays could enhance the Hi-res mode. Anyway is a great game, congratulations!!! Mathy: ABBUC members should to post the contest information (rules, new entries, maybe screenshots, etc) in this forum periodically for marketing purpose. Well, I think every contest from anywhere should be announced here.
