  4. It's a 3D smile... I added a pirate style. In Latin America there was very popular comic called "La Zorra y el Cuervo" , that means "The Fox and the Crow". I draw the characters in paint and exported to g2f and added color to the painting. It takes me about 6 hours to complete the work. This time, I learned more about G2F format and his tool. I wanted G2F.exe has a fill tool, at least for working only in graphics area. (I have to fill pixel by pixel ) cuervo7.zip

  7. In old times (eighty years) we make games for fame or money, but anyone knows about our games until is finished. Now with the forum it's different. But not all is lost, applied technique is there, a presentation, graphics. Some day this could be a start point for another enthusiastic programmer. I think Super Mario Bross 3 is too long and complex game for only one programmer without the dedicated time. As Fandal say, we aport in the Atari 8bit because we love this machine. Only the atarians knows the beatifull powerfull architecture of them. But I don't think Atarian efforts had been ignored...maybe there isn't feeback but you sure you're always remembered. Who don't remember FANDAL, ATARIAGE, ATARIMANIA and others great sites? Who don't remember NUMEN, REDITUS and ROBOT demos? All of them are fishined works and that is exactly the best prize of a great sacrifice. In other way.... BROSS is still there Mario
  8. i started work on a graphics library for cc65. Not the TGI library, but a custom one that took into account all atari graphics modes, pm graphics, etc... All of the functions are written in C, but could easily be hand-tuned where they needed a speed up. I have textout functions for all graphics modes, blit, etc... Might be time to dig it out and put it somewhere for other people to play with. 944369[/snapback] That's a great help for non-assemblers programmers. C is easy to use, but CC65 don't have a library specifically designed for Atari computers. I read very promise capacibilities from ADVAN BASIC, QUICK and QUICKCODE, but really I prefer to program in C with a good graphic and sound library. Well, I have the Original Quickcode Manual and describe interesting routines... maybe can implement some ideas... I'm going to scan and put for all atarians. Mario
  9. Thanks, I loaded with courage and take assembler and get a surprise... MAC65, XASM and MADS are not compatible... After a general view I suposse it's very convenient to work in a PC with CODE GENIE editor. Text ASM code I can compile with these 3 compilers and after that I can execute with Atari800Win But I test with some examples, and every compiler have his own format. I'm noy an expert , so I like to know more about pros and cons of working with: - ATASM (Pros: compatible with MAC65, generate image state emulator, Cons: ???) - MADS (Pros: ????, Cons: Manual written by Aliens) - XASM (Pros: ????, Cons: ????)   10. Thanks, I use for the emulator. Otherwise I have the real Action! cartridge, but lose the manual. I'm wating for the electronic manual. Turbo Basic is excelent , I used for years... but really I need a more strong tool programmig ... really I'd prefer the Advan Basic Compiler or Action! If there is no way, then I'll use assembler MAC65 with Quickcode library...if anyone give me a help with ATR Quickcode... thanks.

I want to port some games, but I need an easy and fast programming tool.

  13. I downloaded from another sites and the same thing... Inside the disk there are only no executables files. Well I keep searching then... Someone had used QUICK or QUICKCODE for programming games? Both are nice tools for design a low level program in short time.

  17. 130XE is a complete Atari, the last model of the 8-bit series. While 400 is the first model in the 8-bit series. Is a good trade if you want to experiment the world of Atari, but Atari 400 is really a precious piece of collection for an Atarian.

  19. The best Atari Basic I remember is Just a great german program SKI EDITOR with MAPs Editor and game is in Basic. Only you load any map like PAC and just play. Good sound, good motion.
  20. Please, someone could explain (or refer) hardware and programming differences between a 130XE and 7800. I know 7800 have superior posibilities, like more colors, sprites, etc. But really I want to know about that.

  23. EG has built in Gr.15 mode, panel car take space from screen. Maybe if resize height screen EG to double, and crop some of the sky.
  24. Wow!! it's better than I expected... only Gr.7 160x96 It's a initial screen simulation with only four colors and rastering applied only. Bitmap with PM overlays is necesary to extend graphic quality of sprites
