And believe i have seen looping too.

I think they made these in a rush to comply with the canadian laws requiring bi lingual wording on products sold there.

    Many thanks for sharing!

Thanks but how do you know? I'm really lost here so I'm wondering:

    1. Is it Space Monster?
    2. Is it Vulture Attack?
    3. Is it K-Tel or is it Funvision?
    4. Is it PAL or NTSC?
    5. Why are there 2 separate game labels? Were each of these their own game at some point?
    6. Is it just old stock or old labels?

I also have a Condor Attack (Ultravision) and a Spider Maze (K-Tel), how do I find out if those are something other than what's on the label?

Most of your questions I already answered. It was released by Funvision in PAL format as Space Monster and then relabeled by K-tel Vision (which was most probably the same Taiwanese company) as Vulture Attack. The game is the same.

Check out the titles on Atarimania or Atariboxed to see more cases like this.

What did I buy here? Online sources show me these as being 2 separate games but the shop owner wasn't sure if it was a relabelled PAL version. What exactly did I buy and why is there a second label? Do I need to actually play the game to figure out which one it is?

You bought a relabeled PAL Funvision T-handle.

Here are a handful of cartridges that came to me from Thailand. I love the label-maker end labels on many of them -- you tend to only see those on cartridges that originate there. Love that the 2-in-1 cart by "Galaxy" uses artwork from もえろツインビー シナモン博士を救え! (TwinBee 2, released in the USA as Stinger). Also... BOOM. 🤯

    Nice!

Which game is on the Carbomb cart?

Hoping the Skylab letter might make this haul worthy of this thread-

It was actually a gift from the seller, included with the other purchased items, so huge Thanks to Joe!

Does somebody have more information about (the rules of) this contest?

    Or the mentioned StarMaster jacket?

    Here's the poster:

Notice the piece of Skylab attached to the front.

Does someone have a better quality picture of that poster and piece?

Would love to know more about this.

It was not produced by Activision, that's for sure.

    • H.E.S. Smash Hit Pak - seems to be a collection of Activision games and is just one of the collection packs they sold. Was this licensed by Activision? Yes
    • Glib - I know this one, it cost a lot. Great find
    • Fire Fly - Looks like a Sears Tele-Games release. Nope. It's from Myticon: http://www.atarimania.com/pgelstsoft.awp?system=2&type=G&publisher=24&step=200
    • Sorcerer - Also looks like Sears Tele-Games. Mythicon as well
    • Kung-Fu Master - this one doesn't look like the typical Activision label, is this the usual label for this cartridge? Yes. One of the later Activision releases: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-kung-fu-master_7366.html
    • Coconuts - this one I already found online easily.
    • Cosmic Creeps - also easy to find online.
    • Crystal Castles - I just bought this to complete my empty box.
    • Name That Game - I bought this strictly for the interesting name. Why did they name it this? Because of a contest: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-name-this-game_17161.html
    • Ocean City Defender - Looks like a Zellers Canadian exclusive. I might even have the box already, I need to check when I get home.
    • Super Action Pak - another Activision collection cartridge.
    • Modern Knight - now we're getting into the ones I could not find anywhere. What is this? A Fast Eddie pirate cart from Taiwan: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-modern-knight_12934.html
    • Bumper Bash - I already know about this one.
    • Home Video Game - ??????
    • Dice Puzzle - I was able to find this one online. Great find
    • Tecmagic - ?????? It's a brand from Brazil: http://www.atarimania.com/pgelstsoft.awp?system=2&type=G&publisher=88&step=200
    • Space Eagle - ??????? It's a Exocet pirate from Hot Shot: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-space-eagle_18267.html
    • Imagic Centipede - weird label for this game. From Brazil: http://www.atarimania.com/pgelstsoft.awp?system=2&type=G&publisher=2174&step=200
    • Snail Against Squirrel - the owner told me only one of these 2 copies work and wasn't sure which one so I got both. I can see when I look into the bottom of both cartridges, one of them has little transistor things soldered to the pins while the other one does not have anything extra. Was that usually done to repair these or reflash them?
    • Futebol - ?????????? Brazilian cart from Cosmovision: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-futebol_8497.html
    • Sky Skipper - I couldn't find any evidence of sold boxed copies online. The only thing I know about this game is the history of Nintendo having the only surviving cabinet of the original arcade game in their storage warehouse. I didn't know it was also on Atari. Yep. Released by Parker Brothers. Great find
    • Bobby Is Going Home - I found a few copies sold online but they were full size cartridges with the game name printed in German. I opened this one up (I can take a photo if needed) and it's just a half size cartridge, it's really short with a full colour label.
    • Sea Hawk - I found this one online.
    • Karate - I knew there was a super rare version of this but apparently I have the common Froggo version.
    • Super Ferrari - PAL? Yes
    • Motocross - PAL? Yes
    • Racquetball - ???????? A game from Apollo: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-racquetball_8306.html

    A [32+1-3+4-20+1-3]

I guess the island in the background.

clearly the location where Pitfall 2 takes place.

    All you needed was this:

book How to win at ET the Video Game

Or read tip 5 from the manual (of which only trillion copies were made):
    et_silver_i_11.jpg

If you don't know how to play E.T. or get frustrated by it, you haven't read the manual or you don't know how to handle a X40 properly.

    It's as simple as that.

The game plays well, has its unique genre, a title screen, an ending, great graphics, music & sound FX, follows the movie nicely, contains tons of easter eggs and was made in 5 weeks time.

It's not even a mediocre VCS game, it's a good and well made VCS game that contains only one counter-intuitive mechanism: pushing Left or Right instead of Up while going up (which can easily be learned in 1 minute practice time).

It just didn't live up to the expectations of the masses (of kids), who most probably wanted a more action packed game.
