Hmm.
It looks like they belong in the same series as this one:

Most probably Taiwanese bootleg carts.
I'm pretty sure Activision did not officially release these.

Many thanks for sharing this information, Ballblazer.
It confirms my earlier findings/theories about Sinmax / Dimax / Home Vision.

I was outbid on that one but did manage to grab this full color original circular ad last month. First time I've ever seen one. I'll scan and post it sans watermark when I have a chance.
Please do.
Would very much appreciate it.

Again: excellent video and research.
I would recommend every VCS fan who have not seen your videos yet to watch them.
Thank you so much!

Interesting.
No idea why they changed this.
Perhaps the 'moving cloud' Lochjaw can be dumped and then we know more.

Is it the Mystique one?
If so, we would love to have scans / pictures of it for the database.

That version is a prototype and had a different cart and box:

Because the BY ALPHABET folder in the HC ROMS map contains all the original (first) releases and some of them were PAL.

1 hour ago, Thomas Jentzsch said:The problem is, that each bank contains the 1st 2K repeated as the 2nd 2K. 50% are missing.
But the good news is, that the existing two 2K banks are 100% identical with the NTSC release version. So this is no prototype ROM and nothing got lost.
This is what Matt has found out:
http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/mspacman/mspacproto.htm
So, it's not really worth keeping in the collection?

Thomas, here are the high and low .bins of that proto.
Perhaps there's more to find in the code.

Incredible.

I don't think it's a good idea to base findings on a HTML manual.
ROM comparisons would be better IMO.
AFAIK still only one version is dumped.

IIRC Cruisin USA had an unlockable schoolbus.

Interesting.
Never seen that one.

As always, excellent work Stephena and Thomas.
Many thanks!

Also, the date seems off.
1982 is more likely.

Can you make pictures/scans of the boxes?
Would like to add them to the database.
