Intel really does have a 14-nm shortage, since their 10-nm CPUs have been delayed ad infinitum, but my guess is that the software isn't ready and this is convenient cover.
Extremely convenient since PS1 is 2 months away from being usable and SNES enhancement chips aren't implemented.

Update 6: Now some bad news, 14nm supply shortages are affecting the ship date for Polymega. We're in line behind a few larger companies but target is summer for receiving most of the CPUs and ship. Press preview units and pre-orders will be shipped as soon as received.

Update 3: On the eve of the Sega Saturn's 25th anniversary, we are proud to announce we have hit 99% game and 99% HLE BIOS compatibility for the entire Sega Saturn Disc Library. Full speed. PS1 HLE BIOS is 90+% currently and will be improved further in the coming 2 months.

Complete silence, no movement on the rewards page...
People may as well start doing charge backs on their credit cards now.

Well, now they are at $339,678. Things are slowing down but it sure is depressing.
-
I wouldn't mind betting for some of these stretch goals for CD systems an additional module will be required for the "enhanced processing" required and to give control ports.
Got to keep the cash flowing in after the pre-order afterall.
-
Why do preorders have a closing date? We'll take your money until October 1 but then you get nothing and like it for 6 months afterward.
You would think that they would want as many unsecured creditors as possible.

Finally I can actually get on the website and view it properly. Only took 4 days.
Seemingly they have managed to get $71,302 in "pre-orders" *cough* crowdfunding so far, which is a bit terrifying. People apparently really want a x86 emulation box that isn't the computer they already have...
I find it really interesting that on Twitter they refuse to discuss how much funding is required to make a N64 module a reality, just saying its a rewards level - despite the fact that it is plain as day on their website that they need to get to a mere $8m to make it happen.
Now, OCD time.. even if I was willing to ignore every warning sign from this project, the fact that the SNES module's controller port labeling is in a different format to the rest of the modules (IE SNES is 1 [PORT] [PORT] 2 compared to all other modules being [PORT] 1 [PORT] 2) I could never live with it haha.

From Twitter:
the TG/PCE mention is regarding whether we would do an FPGA module for TurboGrafx / PCE, and the answer is no as basically no games would benefit from it the extra functionality.
Just for fun one of their responses to someone questioning why the old FAQ and new FAQ are completely different was along the lines of "The Sega Saturn wasn't on the old FAQ either". Real pleasant people this lot are.EDIT: How in God's name is the website still not up. I am in Australia, surely I am trying in off peak times when the website should actually work. -
They are getting eaten alive via Facebook comments.
No no, they are educating people that FPGA is only necessary for "hardcore gamers" that are concerned with minuscule differences.

Waaaait a second. This thing is shipping in April?
In 7 months...
After credit card charge backs will no longer be possible...
On their own website (if it is ever up), not an independent platform...
For a product that doesn't resemble what was initially presented...
And people are actually giving them money? While there is some negativity on Facebook and Twitter, there is quite a bit of positivity and YouTube 'personalities' are still defending the product.
I give up on humanity.
EDIT: I am really struggling on this one. To me, any rational person would look at the back peddling from what Polymega has been touting since day one up until recent interviews and think "Hey, maybe I should wait on this a bit and see how this plays out" but instead people are fawning over this as the second coming of Jesus.

I do find it amusing that in the correspondence between Bryan and godslabrat they claim to be delivering on everything they promised when they simply are not.
At the end of the day this is just an x86 box (Intel Pentium Gold G5500T processor is listed in the FAQ) running Linux pre loaded with licensed emulators.
The thing that really irks me is if they had come out at launch and said exactly what they are doing, making a better Retron 5 that has modules to support the exact systems you desire I would have bought the bloody thing. Now I feel I can't trust anything they claim.

The Super Game Boy is no longer compatible with the EM02 SNES SFC module, however, we have set up a GB / GBC / GBA module as an additional reward tier if reached.I am taking this as they are acknowledging that this is nothing more than a Retron5 style device, something that have claimed since the beginning that they are not. Surely this has been known internally for a while, so why would they go into E3 still touting this as some revolutionary "hybrid emulation" system where it seems to be a simple cartridge dumper running in emulators that they didn't develop from the ground up but merely licensed.
Also, reward tiers? So this pre-order is a Kickstarter...
EDIT: From their interview on RPG Site: https://www.rpgsite.net/interview/7350-polymega-interview-how-this-modular-console-may-change-the-way-we-enjoy-retro-gaming
RPG Site: I know this was brought up before and I forget if there was an answer for that, but is there any plans at all to support portable platforms?
Bryan: That's a good question. Our perspective on portables is that they were made for being played on portable devices, so we haven't really been focused on it that much. You can use a Super Gameboy on the Super Nintendo module, so there are ways to play it. But as far as if you're talking about Game Gear and GBA, we may make a module for it in the future. I can't really say one way or another. I feel like if we were going to do it, we would just make a handheld at that point.
So in June 2018 at E3 it was going to work, just like they had claimed since day 1 of this product. Now on launch they have suddenly realised it isn't possible. How can anyone trust these guys...

So, they are cutting it real fine on their commitment to launch their pre order campaign in August...
Of course no sign of their technology rundown before launch as well.
Their forums are buzzing with excitement as they all know that Polymega are doing this for the love of the scene, not for money...
-
Based off some threads over on Polymega's forum it seems like quite the toxic community over there.
Also, their "spam filter" definitely loves to make it hard to post semi-critical content on their site such as:
When I read the Nintendo Life article I will admit to being a bit concerned regarding the comments of not being able to play the enhancement chip games. I have read Polymega's response to this (it is only referring to saved games - not off cart) but their choice of which module to exhibit at E3 (the Turbografx-16) leaves me a bit concerned. Of their choice of 4 launch systems they have, they did chose the system that has no carts with enhancement chips to show off.
I feel a lot of doubt and concern shown by some would have been deeply minimized by having a SNES module on hand to demonstrated enhancement chip games or even the Super Gameboy which Polymega has claimed compatibility.
I guess it was just a missed opportunity by Polymega to help eliminate some questions people have of this project.

According to this, the system overheats...

Seems that Polymega actually has something that isn't a render based off their twitter...

Of course it is just the controllers...

Well, they do apparently have a booth at E3 according to the post.
To be honest I wish this product was real - the modular nature has appeal to my OCD mind. But it isn't..
-
No need to release information on how the system works or a release date... WE ARE MAKING OUR OWN CONTROLLERS

I'm disappointed. The website is online now. They had a host issue.
Though, a lot of people have drunk the cool aide on their forum. Was just reading two recent threads on the forum where the OPs raised legitimate concerns and other members immediately lept to the defence of Polymega.

With it appearing likely that 8bitdo is going to be releasing a Turbografx control pad:

Is anyone like me thinking that Analogue may eventually complete the holy trinity of the 4th gen consoles?
