Yes direct to the VDP.
-
No. It doesn't use the RF.
-
There is the nesrgb. Although it is obviously more involved.

New boards are being assembled and tested. Hope you all like the black silkscreen.
-
Boards arrived from fab today. I will be assembling and testing this weekend. With any luck I will throw together some kind of install guide in the coming weeks.
-
Looks like I should have more by the end of the week. Received word today from fab that they have shipped the new batch.
-
Sold out again. The next batch will be significantly larger than prior batches. I wanted to verify the interest level before building a big quantity. I will update everyone when I have more, which should be soon.
-
Awesome! So far everyone from the first batch has said they have had great results. Eventually I will keep one of these for myself. I definitely have to give huge thanks to citrus3000psi. Without him this wouldn't be possible.

Boards are assembled and ready to go. This is the last small batch. Likely will not last long. If you want one shoot me a message. After these the large production batch will hopefully be enough to cover everyone else that wants one.
-
This morning I submitted for a large production order. Hopefully it will be enough to meet the demand. Thank you to everyone who messaged me to let me know you were interested. None of this would be possible without the hard work of citrus3000psi. I am not making any changes to the boards or even the silkscreen. My whole goal here is to help get these out to the people who want them. If you want to assemble them yourself and don't want to purchase one pre-assembled, that is totally fine as well. Just remember the components are 0603 so it does require some skill to assemble by hand.
-
I am fully assembling the boards so they do have the pots. It's a drop in and go operation.
-
I will have a couple more boards available shortly. Just need to assemble. I am trying to gauge interest overall on these. If there is enough interest I will do a large run. So if you are looking to buy a board or get one installed please let me know.
-
Correct the boards are blank. Component sizes are 0603.
-
Right now I am building them by hand. If I do a large batch I am going to look at having them assembled.
-
Yeah those are the ones I am building right now. I just meant if there was some sort of sweet spot we could remove the pot and jumpers all together. Either way, I and many others thank you for bringing this to everyone.
-
I am building them with the pots right now. I plan to investigate the the values as I have more consoles to test with but all of the boards I have built so far are being sent to others that wanted a DIY. I do intend to see if there is a happy medium value that citrus3000psi can change the boards to use or with his permission I can change them, if I find a magic value.

I just ordered more boards yesterday because the first run I did are almost gone.

The Official NEO-GEO Thread!

Hope everyone likes the new stereo audio boards. I've got quite a few NeoGeo systems here for repairs right now. Once I get some of them finished I will post some stories. If anyone is looking for an AES, I have one I just finished repairing that is for sale or trade. Looking for Nightmare in The Dark MVS or Metal Slug 5 MVS kit. -
I was able to buy everything from mouser
-
I don't know if citrus3000psi is going to but I will be. I'm waiting on a set of test boards so I can try them and also figure out assembled unit pricing.

For anyone who is wondering, my shockboxes are from SouthTown Homebrew. Also, those are 2 different AES consoles I have. Still need to get pictures of some of my equipment but I've been under the weather and haven't had a chance to do much lately. -
NES Top Loader get! Upgrade? Kevtris?
mobiusstriptech replied to Tanooki's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I did not read this whole thing but I did see my name mentioned. I definitely do these installs. I charge $85 and replace the caps for free if you include them. With shipping in the continental US its $100. I cut the slots as tight as I can get them, everything is socketed, you don't have to get the interposers presoldered but if you want to you can. I have plenty of pictures of installs I have done on these. All my equipment is Hakko and I do use a FR300 to remove the chips cleanly. What makes the chip removal difficult for most is the ground plane and the heatsoak. It's worse on the front loaders than on the top loaders. Especially the 4 ground pins on the PPU that are next to each other. I just did one of these last week actually for a member on NA. -
I have some of these on order which I will be installing or selling as DIY. Assuming everything goes well, if the demand is high enough, I will do a bigger batch to sell or do installs with.

Looks like I have to buy ACA Shock Troopers now -
Especially if you want any of the coax shielded cables. The cost for the cable alone is far too high in small quantities.
