Picked up a 10 TB drive, and yeh, didn't last long.

I must be mega lucky then. Had great reliability on 2.5" external drives. A daily beater lasted me about 8 years and was transported 3x a week all the time.

3.5" seem less reliable however. And they don't like being moved too much unless cushioned nicely.

Strange eh?   Yeh I have multiple external drives that have done well, just when you get up there beyond 4 TB it gets more problematic.
