  1. I'm glad you got to the show & that the reaction has been generally positive. (Or it was a couple of hours ago. :/)
  2. Panzer Dragoon. Hey, they made a version for the Game Gear:
  3. So they really made it to an actual tech event & got to talk with Woz?
  4. No; for now I'm planning on playing with what I have. I may buy more games, but I've got little time to play them, so I'll probably only buy if it's very cheap. Exceptions: If I see an Atari Cosmos, Casio PV-1000, or one of Entex's Video-Handheld things at a store near me, I'd probably try to get it.
  5. Is Casey Jones Available? Oh, wrong type of engineer...
  6. http://advsys.net/ken/evaltut/evaldraw_tut.htm Ken Silverman made a simple language for prototyping games. Not BASIC-ish, but it doesn't look too hard to get into.

So it does fit in its case! ;)

  8. Good song, but not entirely relevant. It's a cautionary tale, nothing that fame & fortune won't solve all your problems.
  9. Wataburger'll put sautéed onions & bell peppers on your burger. That's pretty good.
  10. 'Twas fun when we found it on our school's new PCs. But you're right; it needs polish. As it stands it's little more than a Win95 tech demo. (Your new multimedia PC can do SO MUCH!)
  11. Something like Hover! have been nice. Doesn't seem much more complex than DOOM, & Atari needed more kid-friendly titles. (My opinion!)
  12. Are you sure those aren't screen shots of a mid-90's 3D game? Pretty pictures; probably bad to experience tho.
  13. Just shift the blame to someone else; it was never my fault. I did my part correctly. There are still folks listing Pac-Man Ghost Zone & Black Ice White Noise on their resume. http://www.drawrick.com/pmgzhome.html
  14. I like burgers. Are you planning a burger-themed game? Oo! include Wimpy as a bonus character!
  15. Is anyone else just skipping to the last page whenever they come to this taco; I mean topic?
  16. Overnight shipping. If if I remember right the buyer was supposed to fill out a form pay their state & local sales tax, even in the era of mail order sales...but no one ever did that.
  17. I'm sorry to hear he did that to you.
  18. News flash: Atari SA partners with Emmerson Radio Corp on upcomming console. "We are excited to bring Emerson's advanced knowledge of electronics to help our holding company bring this product to fruition," says Atari SA's CEO. "This will be the first console powered by a 12 volt battery since 1981. Just think, now you can play games in your car or boat again!"
  19. My thoughts too. Retailers might've ordered a large number of units which Atari couldn't fulfill, especially if those retailers wanted to buy on credit. Two million units sold on credit would've wiped out Atari Corp's bank account. Atari Corp had about $150 million, if memory serves. Assuming it cost $200 to build & ship each console, two million consoles would've cost them about $400 million dollars. Shoot, even one million consoles would've cost too much to produce. And two million units to retailers doesn't sound all that incredible; if ten thousand stores each ordered two hundred units you'd have 2,000,000 preorders. (Or twenty thousand stores ordered 100 units, etc.) Of course this is highly speculative & based on a few assumptions. Consider it a hypothesis, one which needs a lot of testing.
