I bought one of the BDPS3500's despite my mistrust of Sony because I needed a very small Blu-Ray player. It does Blu-Rays just fine, but it has audio sync issues with DVDs. I should never have bought a Sony!
Parents bought a Samsung Blu-Ray a few years ago. I bought them a copy of Underworld but, as luck would have it, it turned out that it wouldn't play on this particular player. So it's not just Sony.
