  1. Searching for DB9 extensions for my consoles but only 6 inches or so. Google is not my friend today.

      Usually, the 6" cables are not meant to add length, but to make it easier to change controllers in hard-to-reach ports without wearing down the original connectors. I suppose that's why they're called "port savers."

      (Longer extension cords would do the job, too, but they're not as convenient, and sometimes you don't need all that extra wire.)

      The only system that a controller extension cable is a must for me is for the PC-Engine... but luckily for me it's the exactly the same connector as the Macintosh serial port connector. I bought the cable at Monoprice. It's where I go for my cable needs be it audio/midi/serial cable etc.
