Actually, the Y24,800 was the MSRP of the Atari 2800 system itself. In late October 1983, the dollar-to-yen rate was 233.87. So in October 1983 (when the 2800 was released), the Atari 2800 retailed for roughly $106. The 2800 is a collector's item right now. A CIB 2800 console is currently being sold on eBay for $500, while a boxed copy of Missile Command for the 2800 is currently being sold on eBay for $200. And there's even somebody selling a CIB Epoch-distributed Heavy Sixer for $995.
