  1. Now all wee need is a track ball for missile command, or would one of those gadgets from X-Arcade work. . .
  2. Ugg, I really wanted to get one of these soon too. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but when I buy an electronic for a few hundred or few thousand dollars I expect it to work perfectly from the start. And I don't think that's such a crazy idea, these companies have billions of dollars, they could iron out all the bugs first. Anyway, I'll still be buying one, but I'll wait now till long after Christmas when they are overstocked and get the EB warranty, that way if it breaks I just take it to the local EB and get a new one same day.
  3. I've got no problems with the virtual console and the charging thing, I am a fan of XBL after all, but I do think some select games should be free. $5 for NES SMB for instance it a bit crazy, why not just do something like MS was doing for a while and bundle points in with the console, or have a promotion where if you buy a new Wii, you get a free download of the first three Mario games or something. I mean those games are dirt cheap and common, you can walk into almost any thrift and pick one up for .50.
  4. I got this one as a rental and wasn't interested enough to keep it more than a few days. I think I'm just getting bored with this kind of game. Maybe I'll buy it when it hits $20 or so.
  5. Oblivion is pretty good, but odlly enough I'm not addicted to it. I've had the game maybe 3 months and have only logged 10-20 hours. Anyway, as a far as Dead Rising and your TV in concerned, I personally wouldn't even think about buying a new tv to play that game, I hated it. I got DR on release day, figured it was gonna be as awesome as the demo, played it for a few hours, then got stuck in a loop of having to repeat the same thing over and over due the save system. Plus I was just bored by the game, I'm sick of GTA clones and zombie shit.
  6. I was gonna PO the legendary edition, untill I realized I never cared enough to purchase any other Halo game, so why spend 100 beans on this one. Though I do have a cat. . .
  7. I'd buy that, but only if it didn't have that crappy save system
  8. either that or they're tying to make it look like they're not buying into the hype by intentionally low-scoring every game. I think it's kind of strange that no games have gotten a 9.0 or higher.
  9. Yeah, I'll probably be getting this for my girlfriend for Christmas, like most she's into all the HM, AC and Sims games. Though I will admit that I want to play this one as well.
  10. What upsets me with these morons is the waste. They could have taken that brand new system, sold it on ebay, and take the $2000+ and given it to a homeless shelter and helped out people who needed to be helped. To me that would have been the more anti-corporate statement because they would have been getting more then what they paid, so Sony wouldn't have gotten and of the $1400 or so profit gained, and they would have been helping out the community. Smashing the thing just adds to our already over consumerist and wasteful culture. how was this supposed to hurt Sony or make a statement? They already got the money, what would they care?
  11. Well it wasn't really a gift, He had to buy it. I probably would have done the same thing, though if it was given to me I most likely would have kept it just to play Blu-Ray movies. Anyway I'm glad I didn't camp out as planned, not only was it pouring all night, there was also a stabbing over one of these things at the local BB
  12. I'm surprised Zelda got so many more votes than FF. I voted for FF myself because I've always been into true RPGs more than action/RPGs.
  13. DOOM 3 is definately one of my current faves for the Xbox. Like the rest of you I love the atmosphere, it's like playing through he ending of Alien. I can't wait to get a new PC so I can get the expansion pack and and play it through again.
  14. My girlfriend also loves Donkey Konga. The minigames are kinda cool, though they work off the same basic principal as the game, and multiplayer can be pretty fun, so if you like the game and have the money I'd say go for the extra bongos. If you're looking for more games she might like try the Harvest Moon series, my girl loves those, along with 2D fighters, DDR and simple racing games like Mario Kart. She's also a comic fan so she likes any comic related game.
  15. I find that if you switch the camera to the overhead view it looks like you're traveling faster. Granted it doesn't actually increase the speed but[for me anyway]it helps cut down on the boredom cause you look like your going at a good rate.
  16. I'm about halfway through it now and I'm really getting into it. The graphics and sound is all nice, as is the battle system, and I've finally gotten the chanse to go out an explore, unfortuately the world is small and there doesn't seem to be much to it. the other problem is that it's too short, at the rate I'm going I figure I'll complete it in about 20 hours, and that counting getting all 108 characters. Still though well worth the money I paid for it, though non Suiko fan or people who aren't too keen on RPGs may not like it that much, cause the story is kinda slow and there are a ton of random battles.
  17. I played it for a little while and was greatly impressed, especially by the graphics and sound. Though I'm sucking at it right now cause I always have a hard time with aiming in games. I wish it had a lock on or auto aim feature. It doesn't seem that hard yet, though I hear it gets pretty hairy the deeper you go in. I'm gonna finnish Suikoden IV and then start RE. Also there is a person over at the gamespot forums whose supposedly beaten it and claims that it's 18 hours long. If that's true that will be nice cause usualy the RE games are rather short.
  18. EDIT: I am not condoning nor admitting to the illegal use of pirated software, just providing an opinion on the subject
  19. why not just head over to the marketplace and see if anyone has one they'd be willing to sell/trade/ It would be a lot cheap than ebay. I also can't see how back up could damage the DC. From my experience the DC ssems to load/seek with a back up just as much as it does with a normal game. And as far as back ups go, I say legally own whatever you can get your hands on, but certain games (like Marvel vs Capcom) are just way over priced in the wild and on ebay, so "purchase" those.
  20. San Andreas 007 Nightfire (GC) OutRun 2
  21. The console version is pretty fun, a friend of mine got the PS2 version for x-mas and were were having fun with it last night. Definately get the Xbox version though, as it's the best looking of the three IMO. And there is falling damage, but you have to be very high up. As far as I know though it won't kill you, but jumping off the emipire state building took away half my life.
  22. I got the CE one from Gamestop today, but haven't played it yet. It looks outstanding though. I also really want that controller
  23. That's a great offering of stuff. I wish I had the cash to buy it (unless you want to sell it for $50 ).
  24. It seems to me that many of the people who charge crazy s/h prices are buisnesses. The is one inparticular, videogameliquidator, I think that charges $5.95 for every auction. Now that may not be bad for a game gear or a couple of carts, but when it's things like a Saturn a/v or N64 S-Video cable that sold for $0.99 it's quite a rip off. When I shop on ebay now that first thing I check is the shipping cost, and if possible I try to buy from individuals because they tend to charge closer to what the item actually costs to ship.
