  1. My prediction is July will be a repacked VS with a new arcade collection and hopefully the second July hardware item will be some kind of arcade controller for the VS. The July items will be themed to work together. Now what I don't want to see in July is a VS sold with no cart but just a VS in some new packaging as the VS systems have seemingly been sold out and not restocked for a while. But that's just one hardware for July you say... well it would suck if the second July item is a limited edition of this set because then the 2 slots are really blank spaces on the road map as they would be nothing of interest. As for November's hardware, it'll be a repacked EXP (with different games such as Taito as mentioned by others). The second item seems a mystery that I can't figure out... unless this is the bad case scenario where the two items are repacked EXP's one regular release and the other being a limited edition variant. This would suck as well. I know the Super Pockets are not these items and I'm thankful for that. With four slots being placed on the road map, you have the think they have something interesting planned and wouldn't just rehash repacks. Ultimately, having the hardware releases tied to two cart releases has to be some kind of a clue. That's what makes me think my VS idea will be repacked with one or two new arcade collections. Of the 8 unknown carts this year... my wish is 2 purple carts, two blue and 4 red. Leaves a lot for everyone to enjoy. Now if they can get some 4 player arcade titles out, that VS release could be a real fun time! Oh, an arcade stick with a spinner all in one... and/or a trackball? Now that seems like a pipe dream. lol
  2. Played this fun game on the Evercade... plays really well and for the price ($20 US - $25 CDN) it is awesome! I'll pass on a Jag version. Oh, and the Evercade cart also includes a second game making it even better!
  3. There were three of these released I believe. I recall the third one was Zaxxon. They were definitely cool to see... although the Adam was not a successful platform.
  4. I'm agreeing its Double Dunk. I can't decipher the others... they did say that there will be prototypes and homebrews coming... perhaps this is what these are? I'm just excited to see more games coming to this collection!
  5. So how are the new Paddles with the 4 game pack-in when used on an original 2600 system? I may get a 2600+ but I'm thinking about getting a new set of paddles for my old modded 2600.
  6. Thanks for the update. I'll play the wait and see game with the 2600+. It would be nice to dip back into the 7800 library again... I just don't have the desire to purchase another 7800.
  7. Seeing as this is a thread for question(s) about the game. @BydoEmpire do you know if this game will be compatible with the 2600+? I don't have a 7800 but if this works on the 2600+, I'll be grabbing a copy of this for sure. It looks like my kind of game!
  8. Well I guess in a way, that's some good news! lol A copy will be ready when they hit the store! I'm going to be on the lookout for the new games to hit the store. I plan on ordering on day 1! lol It's also cool that author's get their own copy... after all the hard work that they put into the games.
  9. We're getting close to November... can't wait for this to appear on the store. I'll be putting in an order to get my copy of this! I've been patiently waiting for this release. I've been following the development on Atariage and now we are weeks away from being able to order it. I hope Albert sold all the copies of this that he took to PRGE!! That box art looks great!
  10. I'm interested in picking up the Paddles in November and use it with my original 2600. I'm going to wait to hear reviews on the paddles first though. Playing breakout and Warlords would be fun on the 2600. I guess we will have to wait for the testing results from PRGE? I know it just ended, but I thought there would be some live updates or something on AtariAge.
  11. I remember checking out the 7800 display unit (with Pole Position 2 in it) and giving it a go in the late 80's at my local K-Mart. It had a few titles in the case and I remember picking up some 2600 games (Gremlins, Taz and Crystal Castles at that K-Mart). I never pulled the trigger on the 7800 then but with the excitement of the NES at that time, it was slowly squeezed out of shelf space. Thinking back, I don't think the Woolco or the Zellers had any 7800 stuff. It was only K-Mart that had any 7800 goodies. This was in Winnipeg. It didn't sell well and came in third place behind the NES and Sega Master System.... way back in third place at that. Mind you, it was hard to have sales when you don't have a store presence. Now.. why are the games expensive? Depends where you look, local people have an ET cart and think it's worth megabucks. lol It's worth what YOU are willing to pay for it. The latest 2600+ will give these old carts a boost in prices, especially on Ebay.
  12. Interesting, I was watching tv and noticed on the shopping channel (Canada) that they had an Atari showcase. They had the Gamestation for $140 Canadian and they also had the other two MyArcade items as well... the mini and handheld. Not getting any of these but thought it was interesting that they are on the shopping channel. I was really shocked to see Atari on the channel guide... I was curious to see what they had. I was kind of hoping they would have had some other items such as a VCS for Canadians to order.
  13. There's a set of paddles with a 4 in 1 cart that will be released with the system as a separate purchase. It's on the Atari site... there's also additional joysticks and new cart releases that you can purchase.
  14. As soon as I can order one in Canada, I will definitely order one of everything. Not because I need a new system but this will give me an HDMI 2600 that allows me to play 7800 and also gives me new paddles to use! (Sure beats having to open up and cleaning old jitter paddles) I hope to see this stuff on shelves in Canada and other countries. This is more of what an Atari Flashback should have been in my eyes. Not 100% compatible is fine with me. I have my old faithful 2600 for those and the homebrews but this one can be on display and hooked up all the time. Man, I'm excited for this. lol
  15. If Blaze said that there's a console collection and therefore not a computer collection wouldn't that mean that the Spectrum can be ruled out for that one? Makes me think that the Odyssey 2 or Colecovision could be possibilities. Pick Ax Pete and KC Munchkin would be fun for the O2... as for the Coleco... I don't know what they could release as the system was mainly an arcade license system. There are some possibilities though as Exidy is part of Collectorvision (whether they can use old EXidy roms is unclear). Well, 24 hours from now we will have some clarity. I do enjoy the mystery leading up to these announcements and it helps keep the system in my mind which is what Blaze wants! lol Indie Special... 4 or 5 collections which may be mainly homebrew/indie games. It should be interesting and there ought to be something for everyone! I'm pretty sure there will be an AtariAge homebrew collection announced. Just seems like an easy one to predict. Discord is talking about a new Mega Cat collection... I suppose that could happen but I don't know. Oh and everyone is hoping for the new Wrestlequest on Evercade. I am going to flat out say this is NOT going to happen for several reasons. 1 this is too advanced for the Evercade hardware. 2 the price for this is much more than a normal Evercade release meaning even if it were a single game cart, it wouldn't be enough to pay for the game. Tomorrow will be fun! And then people will be happy/sad/mad etc etc based on their own tastes. I'm just excited to see new collections for this system!
  16. I picked this up on Switch digitally on a sale. I was originally going to play all the games via an arcade stick connected to the Switch but I will play using the joy cons to play Front Line with twin stick controls. I enjoy the games on there but the Super Pocket has some new stuff that I'll enjoy. Oh and in another month or so, you can get Taito Milestones 2 for more good stuff!
  17. I've skipped these handhelds from My Arcade... I did like the little arcades though. I know I have Chack'N Pop on my arcade legends machine but having another Evercade unit to play my purple box arcade collections on is a nice bonus to the Taito Super Pocket.
  18. I don't care for the clear plastic exclusives. I agree... I'll grab a regular Taito but not from Songbird. lol Videogamesplus.ca for me. I'm curious to see what 'easy mode' is for these handhelds. If it's unlimited continues or actually an easier mode for the games? I suppose I could shell out the $1 or 2 for the Capcom invincibility mode on my Switch collections and then I can see the ends of some of the games.
  19. Videogamesplus.ca has them listed for pre-orders that commence on Friday. I know I will pick up the Taito one... Capcom I already have those games on my Switch. But that Taito one... I'm excited for it. Plus, I'll have a perfect dust cover for my OG and or EXP! These units are shown as #1 and #2 on the side of the boxes... wonder what #3 and #4 will be in the new year?
  20. I had the online sub for a year but I never renewed it as it wasn't getting much use. I'd rather pick up the Arcade Archives versions of the classic games and all the collections they've released. My Switch has become a great little personal arcade unit! The Switch and my Evercade have plenty of Arcade fun! I'm having a blast with the two systems!
  21. I'll be buying this on release day. I remember fondly when I played through this game back in the mid-90's during the summer. Rented it and played the heck out of it until I finished it. I'm all for another go with a face lift and to play it on my switch. I forgot about the Nintendo Direct this morning so I got the update from some websites late this afternoon and oh boy! This and MEtal Gear Collection and Mario Wonder (or whatever it's called)... it's going to be a good few months later this year! IF my memory serves correctly, Mallow was a bit of a dud character in terms of in game abilities. Regardless, I look forward to revisiting this and who knows what they add/change to the game! As I haven't watched the direct or read much about the announcements... has it been revealed if SquareEnix is involved in this or if they just gave Nintendo the 'ok' to do this?
  22. When the announcement came out with the little video by Evercade on Twitter I watched it and was underwhelmed. Then later that day, after work, I went on the website and checked the write up on each game and strangely, my interest has increased. I don't know much about these games but I am interested in the collection. Alien Breed has three titles here so that must mean it was a successful game at least. That looks like something I'd give some time. The two fighter games I can care less about... not much of a fighter fan. However, that one fighter that looks like a wrestling game... is it a wrestling game or just a stage that looks like a wrestling game in a standard fighter? That could change things. I'll keep this collection on my radar and do some more investigating in the titles this weekend. That reveals one of the two May titles... any idea when the second collection is going to be revealed? Always interested in seeing what else is on the horizon.
  23. Not really familiar with the Amiga library but I'm hoping there will be a good selection of games and not re-treads from previous collections. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the Atari 2600 version of a game and then the Arcade collection releasing that version but if there's a c64 and Amiga release of the same game, how much of a difference can there be? It's always fun to see the games when the announcement comes out... the anticipation and wonder can be fun. Just need to keep my expectations/hopes in check.
  24. So my hunch is that there will be a special item coming this year (perhaps a new controller like a Trackball and or Spinner/Paddle type idea) that will be on the roadmap as a mysterious ??? item. In previous years, we had the VS and EXP releases as the mysterious 'NEW' thing. I'm thinking there will be some kind of new mysterious item. There will be a dozen games sprinkled throughout the year as well. Indie Collection 2 was the start and it sounded like 11 others are signed/incoming for 2023. The one thing I find interesting is that the 2021 and 2022 roadmaps were released in April of their respective years. February is a bit early but I'll take it! I'm wondering what the next surprise collection will be. Whatever they are, I'm looking forward to them all!
  25. Saw an image on one of the Youtube videos of the user interface for the gamestation and it shows a sample of 8 or 10 games on the screen and the one that stood out was Boxing as it was the Activision Boxing box art. If there are Activision titles on here (similar to Flashbacks in the past) that would be kind of interesting. The Atari Gamestation has my interested piqued so I will continue to pay attention to learn more. The mini and micro... is less interesting to me to that point that I will pass on those... especially when they only have a collection of 2600 titles. There is also talk of new Arcade Microcades at CES. I havent read what games but those could be fun... especially if they are actual arcade roms like Contra etc. Time will tell.
