The Official Turbografx 16 Thread!
Krathoon replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My Nexzr disc did not work in the Analogue Duo. It made weird noises and spit it out. The disc works on Retroarch. So, there is something wrong with the Duo. Other discs have worked.- 3,839 replies

I got a device with Emuelec and Retroarch on it. It does not seem to run N64 games very well. I will have to mess with the settings. I am transferring the SD card image to a larger card. I may have to try to resize the partitions. I am not certain if the partitions increase in size after copying the image. The Retroarch seems to have overrides enabled. I am not certain if I have to disable that to change the settings.

What was the version of Stella that came with the console?

Do the Ranger controllers work with 3.9.4? I would think they would. Does that version allow you to access all your roms?
-
This is why I just ordered a woodgrain Retron 77. I assume those are the first batch. They still had them on Amazon. Also, for some reason, the Ranger controller does not work on an Atari Flashback X. I blame AtGames. It should have worked.

For some reason, the Ranger controller does not work with the Atari Flashback X. That was annoying. It should. It is supposed to work on an Original Atari 2600. I assume AtGames did something.

Yeah. I didn't think about that. Make a whole new folder and delete the old one. I will fiddle with it later.

I may have to re-image the sd card. Windows will not let me rename the folder.

It turns out those Microsoft games I was thinking about were Starlancer and Freelancer.

I would take Wing Commander over Star Raiders. I miss the heyday of the space flight simulators. There was some pretty neat stuff in the 90s. I remember there was some Microsoft space game. I forget the name.

Yeah. I screwed up and got the 2600-daptor and not the 2600-daptor II. That one supports the keypad. Still you can probably just emulate Star Raiders on the PC and use the keyboard. Really, Star Raiders kinda sucked.

I just wish the cartridge slot supported all games. You pretty much have to use the community firmware to get the most out of it. We pretty much have to wait for Analogue to make an Atari system.

Really, the Ranger joysticks sound really good. People seem to adapt to them pretty well.

Does it matter if your games folder starts with a capital letter?

Good thing I went with the wood grain version. It looked more nostalgic. I went ahead and got the Ranger controllers too. John Hancock liked it in his review. They seem much more convenient to use. It seems like Hyperkin did a really good job with the controllers. They are very much an upgrade.

Ah. I bet it will not work with the Spiderman cart. Darn. There was this guy making Atari adapters for the Retrode, but he stopped.

Ok. So, the latest firmware works with the amber Retron 77s? Since this system is also a rom dumper, I was going to go ahead and get one. Edit: Really, the wood grain ones look better. I went with one of those. Also, better odds it works fine with the firmware. So, I guess it works with a wider variety of cartridges now? It is kind of weird how it will not work with a cartridge, but it works with a rom. I guess the rom dumper is not perfect. It is like how the Retrode will screw up some rom dumps. It tried to dump the SNES Retrobit cartridge of the R-Types and it messed it up.

Does it work fine on an Atari Flashback X? I suspect it does.

Flashback X firmware upgrade issue
Krathoon replied to mrhalloween31's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I figured out how to get it to work with Windows 10. You have to manually install the driver. Update the driver of the unknown device that shows up when you plug in the flashback in device manager. Then, get to the part where you select a driver. Then select the have disk button. Go to the driver directory of the driver install software and go into the x64 and then Win10 directory. Select the rockusb.inf file in there. Windows will complain about installing the driver. Say yes. Win10 had trouble matching this driver to the Flashback. You have to force it. -
Flashback X has no SD slot?
Krathoon replied to calico1997's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Yeah. AT Games dropped the old instructions. They probably shouldn't have done that. -
Flashback X has no SD slot?
Krathoon replied to calico1997's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
The instructions have changed for this. Now AT Games is saying to put the firmware on the root of the usb drive, hook it up with the Y cable and start the system. Then, it will prompt to update the firmware. -
Atari Donkey Kong is awful.
