  1. Wow, took all the way until page 2 for this one!

The HyperScan is definitely something I regret snapping up, along with all the cards. Even at clearance prices it was not nearly worth it. Plus I will never get back the time I spent "playing" X-Men.

Nope.I can't see why anyone would regret buying any console system.I feel they all have something good to offer and are all a precious part of gaming history now and for the future.

    even the mattel hyperscan?

  2. It's-a alla onna the eBay!

Here's a link for those who might be interested:

    eBay Seller: pdangler-half1?ff3=10&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

But keep reading, I have saved from eBay a heavy sixer unit. It is working, but the bottom is kind of odd and my theory here is that the top is from a six-switch woody and the bottom has been modified to fit it. There is a gap between the faux woodgrain and the heavy sixer bottom that is not present on my personal and original sixer. Also the tag say "manufactured in Sunnyvale" and "Made in Taiwan" so I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

If anyone would like this for $20 plus actual shipping just let me know. I will also answer any questions you might have about this beast.

  3. Well, I was going to start a new thread, but I don't really change enough for new threads!

Besides it's not a BAD bump, like I am trying to sell something I had two years ago or something. I didn't even bump it because I wanted people to see how witty I am, wanted to give a fellow AAer his deserved due  .

  4. I hate to agree with this, being a 5200 fanboy and all, but the 8-bit is probably the best way to go if you want that "arcade action." Get a nice 800XL for $20 and call it a day. Maybe buy on SIO2SD or Atarimax cart or whatever to play all the games you could ever want on real hardware without flaky joysticks.

I am not really a fan of either the TG-16 or the SMS, but I guess that's why I am on AtariAge. ;)

Depends on what kind of games you like, but I'd go with a TG-16 first, SMS second and yeah... screw the 5200. Get an Atari 8-bit computer instead. you'll be much happier in the long run.

  5. Dude, I just printed out your drawing. I am going to frame it and hang it up in my gaming room and I am not kidding. Awesome!

As far as plugging directly into the coax in the back of the TV from the 7800, yes you can do that with the adapter. Just screw the adapter directly onto the coaxial input on the TV, plug in the cord from the 7800 input and voila! You wil need to set the channel on the TV appropriately, of course.

  6. Last day before eBay - also getting ready to list my 2600 systems for last-minute buyers. As always, AA members should identify themselves if they win one of my auctions - I will always give a break on shipping, throw in some extra goodies, etc. because you are all the best.

Please do not be afraid to make offers on ANYTHING!

I have also unearthed even MORE Dreamcast controllers, so if you're looking for about 3-4 of them, let's talk!

  7. Got this from a friend who is on on their email list:

The colorful facades are a comfort to last night's (totally random, unassociated with today's edition) conversation that strayed from small farming practices to super-intelligence and that kept me tossing and turning, fretting about the fast-approaching future. There's no sense in losing sleep over it, our increasing inability to know what's next is the nature of this life we're living. Atari serves as a humble, 2-D reminder that there's no reason to lug around 3-D baggage as we hurtle through time and space. Left in Brown's hands, the games are reconciled as a portable part of our modern myths. While in the near-term, and in the far, there's really no telling what's around the corner, in the meantime, it's easy to get lost in smaller details, like just what to gift the guys, geeks and children of the 80s in your life. Perhaps that's one more stress Atari can address?

Same guy has a print of Space Invaders theme and a bunch of VCR tapes. Weird.

I obviously need to become an artist.

To me it kinda looks like a bad eBay seller picture and that description is way over he top! Plus, what is up with the filthy Donkey Kong--it's so dark I thought it was a Coleco cart. Still, thinking about it - $20 for a high-quality print is not such a bad investment. Or maybe I will order the largest size ($1000) and a copy of Ian's book.

  8. Prices lowered on some things, some others added.

    I am also selling a Pioneer CT-F1250:

The CT-F1250 marked the high water-mark of cassette deck performance and technology when it was introduced by Pioneer in 1979. It had every feature any cassette owner could possibly want. Performance specifications rivaled those of reel to reel decks. It had a list price of just under $700 and was manufactured for two years. Collectors are snapping up the CT-F1250 today because, as the saying goes, "They don't make 'em like this anymore!"

These are rare decks and go for a premium, but if any favorite AAers are also into vintage audio and want to make a FAIR offer I am listening. This unit was fully refurbed 2 years ago so the belts are not mush. It will likely hit eBay early next week if I don't sell it here or on other sites where it is listed.

  9. Loose, or CIB? I have a loose one that I bought last year for way less than I have ever seen a River Patrol go for.

  10. I also have a question about this cart--is the only way to get one to pay $49.99 to a guy on eBay? I read a thread about making your own, but it was way over my head. Any tech-types here want to help a fellow out?

I've an idea in my head to play through my entire Sega CD collection before I sell it (what better way to test?!), but a lot of the games seem to need save space.
