Bummer that this site is down! I was hoping to use it as a reference. Just bought a bunch of sticks and a few I don't remember ever seeing before. I will likely post some pics in another thread.
-
I shared it on Facebook for all my nerdly friends and sent it to a friend at MAKE magazine. He will likely post it there (if he knows what's good for him).

Well, you got me. I think the game is cool and I have always wanted a game in a wooden shell. I think I posted something about doing this on r.g.v.c. in like 1998 -- my idea was just to transplant a Pac-Man or something into a wooden case, but an original game is so much better!
There goes my Paypal balance...

Gates are open!
Hi Mendon--
I am refurbing our town as well and your grandson is welcome to drop by sometime this weekend. I am usually playing about 11am PT or so. Weird work schedule. All my info is in the main AC thread and I think we are friends already, but I will check to make sure.
Hey, thanks much for the response!!
I'll enter your info into AC this morning and give a check later today around 3pm (I'm east coast so I think that is the correct time difference between us) unless we are tied up with something else... he's been nagging me to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but I'm not sure that a weekend is a great time.
If you have my town already entered in your system from the past, please change the friend code & player name to the one I'm listing below. My grandson decided to start another town (he didn't like the layout of my town) so he has his own player name and friend code (though he stuck with town name of Pixley since he likes Green Acres also):
Town: Pixley
Player: Croniis
Code: 1892 - 5460 - 7994
He now has apples and coconuts but really wants to get one of each other fruit to start a complete orchard. I don't have WiiSpeak, but do have a USB keyboard for communication.
Thanks again and I hope that we can visit!

Oh, that is a SWEET RF switcher! I am totally jealous. Here is a picture of mine, picked it up in a big lot a couple of months ago and I love it. It may have been the best part of the whole deal.
Upstairs in the home theater setup, I just have 2 system setup, PS2 and original Xbox with component cables.
I'm also big on sound, so I'm using an awesome set from Logitech, the Z-5500 5.1 system, which has digital inputs, and can decode Dolby Pro-Logic. That means that I can get cool surround sound from n64 games that support it.

These are now located on the eBay, starting at 99 cents. Just want them gone.

My grandson is visiting for two weeks and he just started playing Animal Crossing. I haven't worked with my town in ages but he is busy cleaning it up (pulling weeds, planting trees and flowers, stocking the museum, etc) and having fun.
Is there someone here on AA who is playing the game... or could open their temporarily on a particular night... that could exchange friend codes with me so that my grandson might visit (it would be his first excursion outside our town) and explore your town and gather one or two fruits for planting (we only have apples)?
Info:
Town: Pixley
Fruit: Apple
Friend Code: 1892 - 5460 - 7994
If you can help my grandson at all, I'd really appreciate it. Just post a message here in this thread with your friend code & what day/time would be good for you for a brief visit.
Thanks much!!

How much for just the "packaging?" Looks awesome and I already have your pen!

If you connect all the RF the video quality will decrease. It's worth getting a switchbox. I have groovy vintage one with 4 consoles attached to it. Yes, you have to push a button, but it's not a big deal. At a certain point, if you want to play vintage games on vintage hardware, you have to accept that some manual labor might be involved... it's not so bad, really. I made some labels with a label maker for mine. I'll try to take a pic later.
That's what I was hoping to avoid, having to press switch 1 on box 1, switch 2 on box two and switch 1 on box 3 to play NES. That's not 'easy'. What happens if I connect all the RF outs together using some RCA splitters in reverse and go right to the TV?

I give mine some wine and then ask if they want to come back to my place to play some games. Seems to work.

I am trying to not pay too much, but I am into some Gameboy these days. Looking to pick up lots of carts on the cheap. Nothing that's the big bucks, but I have a small collection to start with, so...

I have no affiliation, but enjoyed reading people's stories and some of the pictures are priceless.

Aw, someone got to it before I did! Also my very favorite episode. Here is a YouTube clip:
--- gosh the good old draconian AT&T days - when they even had their own police "the phone police" --- no joke...
The "Phone Police" - that reminds me of my favorite WKRP episode where Johnny Fever was panicking that they phone police were coming after him.

Wow! Amazing haul. Those 20SC drives are indeed hard to find. I recommend setting up an AppleTalk network and getting that Sonnet card installed in something good. Very nice finds.
Play some Sim City Old-Skool style!

Sigh. I was unable to make it due to "domestic issues". If there are any leftovers, feel free to PM me. I am happy to pick up stuff to save the hassle of shipping!

-
I will try to come even though I promised my wife I would not buy more stuff.
-
Hmmm... Interesting. How are the prices going to be at this extravaganza?

I am not sure anyone else ever played this game back in the days of GameRanger before browser gaming and all of that stuff... anyway, I love the simple puzzle gameplay and will probably be spending a lot of time here in the coming days:

Weird, I was just looking at getting a 1010 as well. B&C have one on eBay that is "new and tested" but the price is a bit steep. Then again, I now have THREE non-working 410 drives, so maybe it is a good investment. You mentioned a "pile" poobah--any more in there? Any interest in some 410s to add to your heap?

I have never seen anyone spell out H.E.R.O. in an ad before; that's kind of funny. I am going to guess and say congrats on your Waterworld! Funny they did not spell that one out...
