In between hacking up my lungs I am sorting some old stuff that I definitely do not want. I have several Atari 2600 power supplies that do not work. Should I just chuck these or is there anything they can be used for?

2600 Jr. Start and Reset Buttons Broken--Tips for Repair?
phaxda replied to phaxda's topic in Atari 2600
Zylon is the man! It is saved and working great. Thank you so much for sending the strip. Now for a public apology--your payment went in the mail a little late, but it's on the way--sorry for the delay. I threw in some interest. -
Is this a bootleg cartridge or an early homebrew device?
phaxda replied to venturesagogo's topic in Atari 2600
I'd give you $10 shipped for it. -

Classic bootlegs. They are fairly common. Never seen that blue kind of slot though, most of them are a kind of avocado/lime-ish green. Sometimes you can luck out and find prototypes that look like this, but the chances are slim. Fast Eddie is also pretty common: http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareID=1012 -
Puzzy Seamonster Loose In This BIN! $80 + shipping
phaxda replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Auction Central
Thanks for the heads up on this auction! As you say, I wanted to wait until it got into my greedy little hands. This is one I have always wanted (I am still kinda mad that I missed the one that went for like $40 in lot some time ago). Sorry, no pictures (yet). Oddly enough, I had also been looking for a Jr. to replace my non-working one so that worked well too. If anyone wants a boxed Amidar or loose 8-Bit Tablet (I am keeping the boxed one from this auction) cheap, feel free to PM me. Once again, a big bow to CPU--he's one of the best. -
I picked this up last week and I just can't use it and don't have the room. Compatible with Atari 8-bit computers. It is untested. Two SIO ports on the back. Includes ribbon. Power supply is integrated; you do not need a separate one. In decent cosmetic shape, but no paper is included. If I can't get rid of it here I will try listing on eBay for .99 as that is free now, I guess. I do not want to toss it, but... Weighs 12 lbs, shipping from 94610.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
phaxda replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Had a pretty good pickup this morning. Spent $100, but it was worth it. Details on my AA blog for those who are interested in such things. http://www.atariage.com/forums/blog/104/entry-7012-some-good-genesis-stuff-another-sega-cd-2600-and-a-cool-switcher-unit-from-craigs/ (I tried to use the blog link, but it got mangled.) -
Had a mildly good score today. 22 Genesis games (boxed) console (with Sega CD) and a couple of Sega CD games. TONS of controllers--looks like someone besides me had a thing for cool third-party controller offerings. Also has the awesome video cable. The guy also had a 2600 six-switcher with all the hookups and controllers--the best part is that this one is one of the cool ones with the shiny smooth chromed switches. After the heavy 6, these are my favorite models. Also a couple of random 5200 games and a cartridge adapter. Probably the coolest thing though is the Video Commander switchbox, which is super neat. I have never seen one before. It says Video Commander | Santa Ana CA on the back. I love the classic woodgrain styling on this puppy! It has a kabillion inputs, which is good because I need them! Not pictured, 10 common 2600 carts. Sorry about the weird image cutouts--there were some other items in there that were not included in this lot, so I just cut them out. I paid $100 even. Not the greatest deal ever, but there are some Genesis rarities in there and I can probably make my money back on the systems alone. Plus I had a nice drive out to the country. Game on!

ORDERS ARE READY!- ATARI 2600 NTSC Bouncing Baby Bunnies
phaxda replied to Wonder007's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Wow, this looks great; really looking forward to it. Do you still need Telesys shells? Just picked up another one. -

Just some good-natured ribbing and free thread-bumping. That Sears is a beauty and a shame I could not get it working. It did come with a SWEET Sears console/cart storage thing with the smoked plastic lid in pristine condition so at least I have that. I would get a lamp, but I like it dark. -

Guess they made it there safe and sound then? Happy lamping! -
As I mentioned in another thread, I also have a 1025 that I need to part with. It's just too big. Will sell for shipping or trade for pens/paper for the 1020.
-
Cool! That is one of the neatest things I have seen posted on AA. Always wondered about this one.

Wow, I have a way lower percentage of all available carts than I thought... a long way to go no matter which version of the list I consult!

For Order: Monkey Labs Production Atari Lamps
phaxda replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I hope you are a hot chick, because the instructions for Phaxda clearly state that it is to be taken "ONLY BY HOT CHICKS, once per day and twice on Sunday." -
Ha you beat me to making this comment by a couple of minutes; I stopped reading that site after the Robotron review. This person and I are on totally different pages when it comes to evaluating games. I like Wasp. Is it a little rough around the edges and are there some things that could be improved? Sure. But it's a pretty fun game. I would give it a B- for playability and an A+ for collectibility (I am a huge fan of the label/booklet art on this game).

For Order: Monkey Labs Production Atari Lamps
phaxda replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
OK, look here people, if you are going to give Cebus static about not pulling parts out of these and recycling chips or whatnot, let me just say this again--where were you when I was offering these systems up for literally WEEKS? And at one point I was told I should just try to get someone to pay shipping for them and I would be lucky to get that. In several posts I offered to pull parts from these dead systems and sell them at a reasonable price and NO ONE took me up on it. I hate seeing Ataris die too--that's why I didn't just dumpster these and I am really glad someone can use them. If you have any thoughts of writing Mr. Lamp Man after reading this thread and chastising him for making lamps out of DEAD Ataris, let me just say this: write me the PM you were going send him and let me know how much you're willing to pay for the remaining dead systems I have or parts from them. Don't want to pay for them? Then don't bother complaining. I can't believe how many people want something for free and then complain about what someone else is going to do with items that they paid good money for. The lamps are cool and they are helping to preserve and enhance Atari culture. I am happy to have contributed in some way while at the same time making some scratch to help finance some of my recent eBay purchases: if you really need your Atari chips that bad, then MAKE AN OFFER. OY VEY. -

There were plenty of chances for people who wanted those dead VCSs to get their hands on them, but the monkey was the only one who came through with the cash... -
That is some great salesmanship. He will probably ship it in a Hefty bag, though: too lazy to list games=too lazy to pack well.

2600 Jr. Start and Reset Buttons Broken--Tips for Repair?
phaxda replied to phaxda's topic in Atari 2600
Oh, I have already popped out the buttons and tried to revive the mylar strip (thanks for the correct terminology). But is it actually possible to purchase a new mylar strip thing? I have like $20 into this already and that's about all I am wiling to spend. -
Just bought this one "untested" on eBay. Tried all my usual tricks but the membrane ribbon/circuit thing appears busted. Rest of the console works fine. Anyone have any experience in this repair? I was thinking about some sort of mechanical switch but that is probably over my head. Just asking before I junk it. Grrr, eBay.

I have always enjoyed the poll of the week and may start posting more myself. I had lots of fun with my recent one re: Dreamcast VMUs. Still, I will miss you! Definitely keep checking in on all of us... -
