  1. I have one of these as well, and have passed on others at the Goodwill. I have it nicely displayed, though, as it is very cool looking!
  2. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/ele/221958927.html I would love that Robotron, but am not allowed to collect arcade cabinets until we buy a house.
  3. Even if that's the half-truth, I am more excited than ever about this system. This is the type of video gaming I have wanted for years, the type that Sony tried to deliver with the EyeCam (Kinetic, anyone?) but didn't. This article also mentions SHIN sensors to track kicking motions...can you imagine what FIFA 2008 might be like... So excited about the Wii!
  4. I miss thrifting, too. That was really what got me back to the hobby--I just happened to go to a flea market where a guy was selling 5200 games and I bought the lot of them. Praising Bira Bira, and all of that. Fun times back then and I would alway discover other cool stuff in the thrifts. Now there's never any carts and all--I still buy most of my clothing there, but it's rare to come home with games. I like having my collection, too, but the CC2 has made me far more likely to fire up a quick game. I rarely use my poor heavy anymore--it's just a showpiece at this point...
  5. I found the item as well--CPUWIZ isn't the only person on here who knows how to use eBay efficiently. Once you posted the bid history, the cat was out of the bag. Way out, and headed to get some tasty feline treats. I have no interest in the auction, though, so you're safe from me. Shallow pockets, too. There's a book called "eBay Hacks" that is really good for info on how to find an auction item when just given a bid history, etc. PM me if you are interested; I will send you a copy gratis.
  6. I would pay a little extra for someone to make a cartridge just like this JUST so I could auction it and dilute the market. Heck, I'd just make a donation to the maker without getting a cart. It'd be worth it.

    Huge Lot

Ah, this is the pawn shop haul! That's alotta stuff... Maybe $500-$600. Maybe.
  8. I think that, on some level, you need to accept that Atari 2600s and most games are not especially rare commodities. It's nice that you take the time to clean them up and nurse them back to health, but many eBay buyers can (and will) do this themselves. It not a huge value-add. For me, part of this hobby is sharing the games and systems with others. If that means selling a nice 2600 with some great commons for $9.99, big whoop. I have had TONS of people in this community do nice things for me, and practically giving someone a nice console is something I can do for others. As I said before, it all tends to even out. Call it karma, whatever, it works. Just want to wish you good luck on all of this--no offense meant, but you sound wound up a little tight about the whole deal. I guess that's the difference between making it a business and a hobby. I'll stick with the hobby!
  9. That was AWESOME. I was seriously impressed with how BAD it was. My first question was "how can I do this?" so I am reading http://www.nesplayer.com/database/info/emu...doc/romdoc.html
  10. I was writing a post earlier, but went off to to get some dinner and Zwackery had posted in the time I was gone and put things much better than did. I agree on all counts. Look, you want to get rid of the stuff, put it on eBay and see what the market will bear. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. It's a crap shoot. I've sold 2600s with a dozen games for $9.99 and shipping--another time sold a nearly identical set for $60. You just never know--eBay is all about what the market will bear. Your BIN prices are extremely high & I can understand the "just hope I get lucky and some sucker buys it for that" feeling, but EVERYONE knows how to search for completed similar items and yours are priced so far above the norm that buyers may just write your items off completely. Those wireless joysticks for free is a definite distraction--just include it or don't. I tried to sell my boxed set of the Atari ones for $30 shipped and no one wants them in this interference age...
  11. I beta tested Caesar III and Lords of Magic SE. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lords_of_Magic It sounds like fun, but I HATED LoM like you would not believe. I just found it really boring. Caesar III is pretty good, though.
  12. I bought an original Gameboy just to play Tetris.
  13. 9,100. I will get at least 10k! I grew up on the 5200 version and stayed home playing it all day once when I was sick.
  14. I have lots of consoles, so pretty much all games are accounted for. However, I do not have an Arcadia to go with my "American Football Video Game Cartridge". That's the only one--I keep it on top of my TV as a conversation piece (I watch a lot of football).
  15. It wasn't for me--I sold a 2600 on eBay and the seller needed an adapter. I didn't have one to include with the sale, so was trying to be helpful and show all the available options. I got rid of all my switchboxes a long time ago. Lucky buyer got a crazy good deal because I forgot to change the shipping to "calculated" and charged just $10 to make what turned out to be a $19 Priority shipment across the country. Gah.
  16. My Google-Fu is not what it used to be, but I got it. 300 ohm to 75 ohm. Guess I should know these things. http://www.bkaphoto.com/detail.asp?section...;product=KV418V
  17. This is a very silly question, but what do you call those older tiny box adapters that have the female coax end on one side and the little screw-in tabs (to connect to the standard switchbox) on the other side so that you can plug the switchbox into a TV that has only coax? I am looking for a picture of one. Thanks.
  18. I was the one who bought Tanks, Gopher, Time Pilot and Eggomania. CPU gets a free bump for packaging and shipping--they arrived today, with individual Ziploc bags for each game. Thanks again! Or 24 hrs a day

  20. If she can make one in black with the Fuji logo (in white or rainbow) on it, SOLD!
  21. I am still paring down my collection. Thanks to everyone who has bought some stuff in the past. None of these are valuable, but I though maybe people who collect label variations might be interested in: Sears pic labels: Defender and Haunted House Text labels: Brain Games, Slot Machine, 21 Video Olympics (these are all R3s) I'll sell all of these for $12 shipped.
  22. Wii. I am very excited about the controller. I want to golf with it. Yeah, that right, golf!
  23. Breaking news from the Apple Special Event. You can buy games for the new iPod. They showed Pac-Man and others will be available for download... 10:10 am iLounge: games will work on 5G ipods 10:09 am iLounge: games for sale off iTunes for $4.99 10:08 am iLounge: new iPod software features: instant searching, new games (Bejeweled, Cubis 2, Mahjong, Mini golf, pac man, tetris, texas holdem, vortex, and zuma)
  24. I just ran into this myself after I got my CC2. The temptation was to dump all my 2600 carts, but instead I decided to do away with label variations and slow down the pace at which I bought games. So I purged all text label carts and only have one pic label variation (I like the artwork). I dropped my collection number by 50 or so, but I still like having the carts around. Ideally, I would like to display them better someday--my collection numbers around 250 right now (I was over 300 before the paring down). I'm planning on getting a 5200 flash cart as well, but there's no way I'll get rid of any of those games! I love my complete 5200 collection!
