Thank you!, I'll knock up a sketch for you to fill in and PM it to you

That would be the perfect companion to Jon's GUI. Also ideal for use with the 1088XEL/XLD, which is why I want to make it.

Your mouse looks terrific, I'm glad I didn't see it until after I came up with my idea or I might never have bothered!

1088XEL Atari ITX Motherboard DIY Builders Thread
Mr Robot replied to Firedawg's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Same here with my XEL... I haven't yet worked out how to wedge a Covox in there either but I think I'll be trying to fit one under the XEL board. I'll be using Eric's board but the Rapidus is an expensive addon that will have to wait until I have spare cash and I can get it from Amiga on the lake- 1,748 replies

I want to make a mouse shell that I can stick my mouse innards into to make it more Atari-like. I thought I'd do something like the Atari ST mouse but instead of the rounded edges I'd use the chamfer of the XL range and of course go with XL colours as well. I'm not a big fan of the ST mouse from an ergonomics perspective but there isn't another mouse that is as Atari as the ST mouse so I can live with the shape. I've mocked something up and it seems to look ok and certainly has enough room inside for whatever mouse board I wish to integrate. Now I need some help. I don't have an ST mouse so I can't measure it to get the sizes and angles correct. Is there anyone with calipers and an ST mouse who is willing to measure all the odd angles I'm likely to ask them to measure or is anyone willing to lend me an ST mouse for a few days? Of course the final STL files will be released for people to make their own when I'm finished.

Ultimate Cart vs. SDrive-MAX for Atari XEGS?
Mr Robot replied to sixersfan105's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
If the game is a cart image and you loaded it in a multicart with enough memory for it to load, it will probably work on a stock XEGS. If the game is an XEX, almost certainly not -

That's the thing the Ultimate and UNO are missing, a motivated programmer working on them. -

@DrVenkman You've got an UNO cart, could you stick Atariblast on it and give it a quick test? Cheers! -

For an extra $1 I got a screen and UNO that just works. It does seem like a lot of hassle for $1 -
Ultimate Cart vs. SDrive-MAX for Atari XEGS?
Mr Robot replied to sixersfan105's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
IMHO it would be worth it if it cost the same as the Ultimate cart, you'd still be getting more functionality for the same price. We probably shouldn't be telling @tmp that though should we -
Ultimate Cart vs. SDrive-MAX for Atari XEGS?

Yep. I got fed up waiting (little did I know than that the preorder thread isn't really a preorder thread and it won't get you added to a list, someone should delete it, at this point its more a troll post than a preorder list) so I got an Ultimate from The Brewing Academy. Then I watched the AVG get better and better so I messaged tmp and asked to be added to his list, he replied and said it would be a while, I said ok. Then I waited and fortune smiled when he gave me a cart for helping him design a new label for it. I now have the Ultimate in my NTSC 800XL, just for running CAR/XEX games, and the AVG in my 1088XEL for doing CAR/XEX and all the cool things I can't do from @flashjazzcat's loader menu. I have an SDrive-Max for ATX and CAS files. -
RGB2VGA: customizing a GBS-8200 for a cleaner low-lag image

There's this album, posted on twitter. Just the odd photo here and there apart from that so far. -
The Pico-8 is an imaginary 8-bit computer, implemented in software, with no compatibility with anything else but a thriving developer and user base. He's trying to make a real 8-bit computer like that? Nice!

Bravo Sierra Computers and Ben's status
Mr Robot replied to Justin Payne's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
That website is blocked as a badware risk by uBlock Origin, and has an expired certificate so it gets flagged by Chrome and Safari as a security risk. I wouldn't click to go there. Im sorry I don't know anything about Ben -
Got this now, thanks everyone!

I got this far with my reprogrammer and just haven't had time to work on it since. It is still in my active projects list so I will be watching this thread with interest. -
Ultimate Cart vs. SDrive-MAX for Atari XEGS?
Mr Robot replied to sixersfan105's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The UNO is the baby brother of the Ultimate, it has a slower microcontroller (that you won't notice) and 128K of ram instead of the Ultimates 1MB which means you wont be able to load cart images over 128K, in practice that just means that you wont be able to use the UNO to run Maxflash 8mb cart images. The Ultimate is bigger and more powerful but nobody has done anything to tap that power yet. The AVG is about the same as the Ultimate and @tmp is using the extra power to do cool stuff. -

UNO Cart, Ultimate Cart or AVG Cart will all work for you. I'd get the AVG Cart -
Ultimate Cart vs. SDrive-MAX for Atari XEGS?
Mr Robot replied to sixersfan105's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yup, works fine with a mac. Don't forget to use something like dot_clean on the SD card before you eject it to clear out all the junk that Apple dumps everywhere. Should probably clear out any Windows thumbs.db files too. I have both carts and I think they are both great but the Ultimate is under supported and there doesn't appear to be anyone with the skills to adopt it and make improvements.
