  1. After initial testing I haven’t used the original power supply, my model is based off what Google images showed me the “breadbin” model. Wonder if a new power supply would fix my issue? Or if I will need new parts like the PLA?
  2. I recently dug out my old Commodore 64, and decided to hook it up. Well at first it was slow to start up, and the keyboard didn’t respond, so I cleaned the connectors on the keyboard, and it was still slow but the keyboard worked. Fast forward 2 hours later, I went back to it to mess with it and it’s stuck on a black screen, if I turn it off and on a few times it will eventually load into basic. Any idea what the problem is? Or know of someone who repairs them? I’m not good with a soldering iron due to a issue with shaking hands if that’s what it needs.
  3. Thanks everyone, with a little persistence and advice from all of you, I got them all off safely and got them soaking in some soapy water as I type this.
  4. Purchased some Atari XE carts, expertly packed and worked great, he was very helpful and had more then fair with his prices.
  5. What would be the easiest way to remove keys from the XEGS? My keys are pretty dirty and would like to pop the off and clean them better then what a qtip is doing. (Particularly the space bar) thanks
  6. Just curious how much you looking to get for all of them? I know next to nothing about the XEGS, I recently just stumbled onto a XE and only have two games. Also happen to have or know where to get a XE joystick? I kind of want a grey one that came with the system, but mine came with a black 2600 joystick.
  7. Hi, I am looking for a joystick for an Atari XEGS, I know I can use 2600 and possibly 7800 joysticks which I have plenty of, but I’m looking to get a grey one like the system original came with. (edit: no longer need a light gun) Thanks!
  8. I recently got an Atari 5200 and picked up about 17 games all for pretty cheap, but anyway everything works great (even controller which was unexpected). But one game Star Raiders just won’t load up properly, I get the Atari Logo and it shows the games name, but after that it’s just a gargled mess of lines and letters, numbers and symbols. It’s the only game to do it, I’ve tried cleaning it several times but no luck, any suggestions or is it a dead cart?
  9. I used to solder all the time, but recently been on a medicine that makes my hands shake to the point where I’m not comfortable soldering anymore. So I’ll have to hire someone to do it, if you got any suggestions let me know tho.
  10. After messing with it more it’s a problem with the RF jack, when I put light pressure on it it works perfectly. I’ll need to find someone who can resolder it back on. It was cheap since they didn’t know the condition of it, so $20.
  11. Ok, the power supply it came with shows correct voltage and all, but it just doesn’t like it for some reason, so I went to a local retro game store and they had a power supply so I picked it up, with this one the system turns on and plays but only in black and white and still no sound. Not sure if it makes a difference but I am using a RCA to F adapter and not a game box like it originally had. The game box adapter it came with was broken.
  12. Hi, I recently found an Colecovision at a flea market for a decent price so I picked it up. Got it all hooked up and cleaned the cartridge slot and games. When I turn it on, the picture goes black with static and nothing else. Any ideas what’s wrong and how to fix or who could fix it.. not good with a soldering iron at all if that’s what it requires.
