  1. I have tried just about every video combination possible, and have settled on using a CRT with composite. It's convenient and nostalgic and the picture is clean and sharp without being overly sterilized like RGB on an HDTV. Plus, there's just something about the way a CRT renders that is difficult, if not impossible, to replicate on an HDTV.
  2. I slightly missed the boat on the VCS back in the day, and as others have said, it was a mythical creature. I was always fascinated by it, I would read mentions of it in magazines, but I didn't go to any thrift/second hand stores until I was an adult (although I would have loved them as I've always had a fascination for old stuff). Didn't actually get to put in real hands on time with one until the past few years or so.
  3. I was one of the brave few that owned a Master System in the 80s. These were my top 3 of that era: Alex Kidd and the Lost Stars Astro Warrior Safari Hunt Honorable mention: Ghostbusters As far as games I've found in recent times with the advent of the Internet and being able to import some sweet European exclusives and finally play the obscure American titles: Alex Kidd in Shinobi World Master of Darkness Golden Axe Warrior Honorable mention: Dragon Crystal (similar to Fatal Labyrinth, one of my favorite Genesis games)
  4. Good luck. I've also only ever run into one in the wild, and it was at eBay prices anyway.
  5. Pre-ordered for sure. The Duke was an awesome controller, very comfortable for me.
  6. The dual shocks (1/2/3) as actual controllers are barely tolerable. Cramped layout, loose analog sticks with large dead zones, bad d-pad, poor button feel, grips that are too short, etc. Even more annoying is the fanboyism that insists they're the best. The controller port standard, however, is great for adapters and such, so if you have an arcade stick or something you really like, if it has a Playstation connector, you can find an adapter for just about any system. The best actual controller is probably the Xbone controller, with the 360 a close second.
  7. Gamestop's recent move towards toys and other trinkets reeks of desperation, and the stores are a cluttered mess because of it. And their stuff is usually marked up, so they're not even competing on price.
  8. Called up the UPS Store, they gave me a rough estimate of $140 to ship it just based on weight alone, and about $70 for them to package it up in a box and everything (would need extra padding since it's fragile). I'm going to have to tap out, but just in case anyone else was interested, there you go.
  9. It's true, half the good stuff I order ships out of Cali, the other half from Florida for some reason.
  10. Any idea how much that would cost? If it's $50 or under I'd totally do it, but I think with the box, packing, etc it would be at least $100, I've only used them once and they were not cheap.
  11. Too bad you're not in my area, I would be all over this.
