I love this hack!  What a fun way to play MM!  A belated "Thank you!" to the late Nukey Shay for making this!

@ComputerSpaceFan  Are you still around?  I just watched your video on Youtube.  Great demo and explanation about this hack!  Thanks!

Yup still here and still loving Nukey's work, he was a great guy.

Oh and also, how do demoscene productions run on that machine?

Do you have a 2600+? It just uses Stella, so I imagine it should work. I wonder what the Atari Gamestation Pro uses.. Based on some videos, MAME maybe?

I don't see the purpose of these machines when you could just use a Raspberry Pi or an old laptop, or a real machine + Harmony

Hi Tomas (ignore my reply in YouTube since you have now replied). I don't have a 2600+ cuz the Gamestation Pro is better for my needs. If it's not possible to get Bell Hopper to recognize the Gamestation paddle no worries. Awesome game for those who can enjoy it.

New Wave Toys has a Scratch 'n Dent clearance sale going on right now:

Edit: Looks like between when I got the email to posting this most of the stock has sold out.

Yup. I went to YouTube to convince myself I wanted the 1943 cab with the yellow t-molding and by the time I got back (ten minutes later) the only cabs left in stock were the woodgrain 1942's so I grabbed one asap.

    All gone very quickly.

If they stick Pole Position II on there I'll definitely get it (first Pole Position only has one track so I'm less interested)

From what I understand the new GSP joystick and gamepad are backwards compatible with the gen 1 GSP and will be sold separately for those of us that bought the gen 1 GSP. Also, they include rechargeable batteries which is a nice touch.

If so definitely Day One purchase from me.

  6. I saw some of GenX'es info from CES. Sad to see the new Gamestation joysticks seem to be for a new console model and not something I can synch to my existing Gamestation cuz the one I have is perfect (other than the B and C button locations) so I really don't want to buy yet another console just for better button placement.

A few .cfgs for Video Pinball. Someone was having problems configuring it so I made 3. First one is how he wanted it. A and C buttons for flippers, down to launch, up to nudge. (Doesn't seem to do anything.) Another has left and right for the flippers. A 3rd is for PS Classic and Xbox controllers that use L2 and R2 for the flippers. (Bumpers on Xbox). Hopefully you have the old artwork file for it or it won't make sense how the ball is bouncing around.

Awesome stuff man, thanks! (this is Down the Rabbit Hole by the way)

  8. Hi there, forgive the necro-bump but My Arcade just enabled paddle control support on their Atari Gamestation Pro this week and although a bunch of great homebrew ROMs now work in it, Avalanche does not. The buckets just go to one side of the screen and stay there. Any ideas why and if this is patchable?

  10. Hi there, I was trying to explain the Mr. Boston cartridge to my dad and he can't grasp it's a video game cart made by a liquor company. I thought I'd email him a website that shows both the liquor company history as well as the game and I can't find anything. I can find sites about just the booze or sites about just the Vectrex game but not a single site that discusses both (like with pictures and stuff). Anyone know of any?

I don't mean to resurrect an old thread but I was on a different thread and there was a YouTube link for a video about The History Of Gyruss.  It was never a favorite game for me back in the day, probably because I didn't like the control scheme (I'm in the minority, I'm sure).  But, that's how it should be ported.  I haven't played any home version yet (need to get the 5200 version) but because of that other thread I started Googling the various Gyruss versions (to see if the complaints about the 5200 controls were accurate, seems they're not) and came across this video that's pretty recent (along with this old AtariAge thread) -

So apparently there are two homebrew ports for the Vectrex, both mostly true to the arcade version with differing flaws?  I wonder how they stack up to the original and the official ports.  I assume they use the same directional joystick scheme as the 5200 (both have analog sticks).

    Glad you found my video!

Yup they both use the directions same way as the arcade machine (I don't have a 5200 so can't confirm that one for ya). Both are very good, I would say Wormhole is slightly better due to the music and the polish. Gyrostrology is no slouch though, incredible work!

  12. Had a blast with my eight year old nephew playing Mario Kart GP DX in the local arcade a couple of weeks ago. Before the game starts you can get you picture taken by the webcam to make your driver look funny and/or more recognizable that this is the character you are playing.

My nephew stood up in his car seat so the webcam only took a photo of his shirt and not his face. Made me wonder if he's smarter than me when it comes to privacy concerns.

The game does have a disclaimer on the screen promising any pictures taken will be deleted after the race but in these modern times I'm wondering if that's really true or not.

Any Operators or Engineers willing to assure me my photo taken with this cabinet's webcam is really deleted?

  13. Since we Canadians have to wait till tomorrow to actually be able to buy a My Arcade Gamestation Pro, I've got my finger on the "purchase" button right now but I'm just curious: those of you who have had the unit for a while, how durable is that joystick?

I busted a FlashBack 2 joystick on Saboteur years ago so I'm adjusting my play style not to be so rough.

    Are the Gamestation joysticks flimsy?

Also, anyone able to confirm the sync issue a Reddit guy posted about below?

Crazy question here: to save myself going through AA batteries, could I just hook up a power bank to the USB connector on the joystick? I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Seems I have an answer to my question. The joystick works one of two ways, according to this guy's video.

Either you turn it on for wireless and it runs off the batteries OR you plug it into the console with a USB cable. Can't simply power it with USB and have it run wirelessly...

Anyone have a current Amazon link for the Gamestation Pro?  The Amazon link I had bookmarked is no longer valid and I can't find it anywhere.

I hope the YouTube videos describing how games can be added didn't screw everything up...

I've got one Wish Listed for Canadian Amazon (giant link below) ...... I agree that I hope My Arcade haven't panicked about the SD card stuff and are going to change things.
