Of course...moderation now.
You guys enjoy. -
8 minutes ago, Albert said:CollectorVision had nothing to do with your getting banned from that thread. You only have yourself to blame there. If you don't like the Phoenix and just want to shit on it, maybe instead you could find something you actually like and contribute positively to the forum.
..Al
It didn't start out as a fight and I don't care who buys their crap.
But the more you dig into their system the more you find out how they ripped off the community.
Either way, not my dance and As I said I have way much more to do that is more important.
At the moment of I have my attorney putting together a patent package because I have a deadline for next years release of the **********.
So I'm kind of indisposed to be putting on a show for Atari Age.I don't hear from you much, why the special occasion.

OR...It might be possible that they like to shoot the messenger and it hurts their business model to be called out as THIEVES.

I took that out.
It was meant towards Collectorvision. But either way I have way too much else going on to be bothered.
Some of us actually have real life to deal with.

Unfortunately 7, 8 and 9 have nothing to do with George Lucas or his ideas.
7 was an almost 1 to 1 ripoff from Star Wars, renamed to A New Hope.
8, was a continuation of getting rid of the old characters...some say so Disney doesn't have to pay for merchandising licenses and a portion of the profits.
9 will be much of the same.
I am astounded that people are watching what has amounted to dribble surrounded by special effects.
Then when you get to the bottom line it amounts to preaching instead of great story telling.
So much so Disney is losing a bundle to the tune of 30 Billion in franchises alone that Bob Iger used 80 Billion in assets to back up.
Marvel, Star Wars, The Muppets, Fox Films, Avatar.... Now that they lost Spiderman back to Sony that just screwed their plans for the Marvel Universe when they tried to promote Captain Marvel. Marvel comics is on the verge of bankruptcy according to insiders because of all this SJW crap they promoted over great characters and story telling.
Galaxy Edge is also a tremendous flop at both parks.
I am not passing judgement but repeating what is already over the net.
So with all that said..Episode 9 is already not even worth a pirated download. -
You could always make a game for the MSX and it may end up in the Opcodes store. You might not get royalties though...
BaaaZing!

Bob Iger and Kennedy have destroyed what was some great franchises in the name of social justice because it's the "IN" thing at the moment.
I watched 5 seconds of that new BatWoman then deleted it from my feed.
I tried to view the new Watchman....Once again deleted.I pay money to escape and be entertained, not preached to.
I can somewhat believe in Superhero's as long as they are contained within the movie.
However, when I see some secret agent chick that is 4'11 and 95 lbs beating up a 200 pound 6 foot stuntman that is when I've had enough.
Princess Leia was smart, witty and beautiful. She didn't need all the crap that is forced down your throat these days.
Wonder Woman was really good despite that crappy accent. Stiv, I love you Stiv...Ripply from Alien??? These are the top contenders that come to mind.
Don't even get me started on Star Trek Discovery or I will strangle someone. RUINED!
If you grew up in my era there were plenty of strong women characters and I don't mean Maud.
There was Police Woman, Marion from Happy Days...Hill Street Blues...The Greatest American Hero...Lots of other woman or even gay characters in supporting or lead roles that did not have to preach.

Rule #1...Don't talk about buying a video game system.

I stopped letting my kids watch this as soon as they introduced sexual orientation.

Here is an interesting stupidity about ROBLOX and MineCraft...
As much as I love 8 bit graphics there is a reason why we evolved from them.
Now not only has there been a push back to 8 bit they do it in 4K...
Something is seriously wrong with people. -
Did Milton Bradley license Gremlin's Blasto from the Arcade?
Not every jumping Platform can be copywrited to one company or person but I bet you that you have a monkey throwing barrels Nintendo is going to have lawyers scream at you.
You could almost say that Miner 2049er is Unique because you have to paint the girder you are on.
But can Bill Hogue sue because Make Trax is similar?
Every time I pick up a dot on the screen is Namco going to holler?
I still think that Led Zeppelin ripped of Spirit and they won in court because they had better lawyers.
This could also be the scourge of Home Brewers because these big companies have deep pockets compared to us.So you could be 100% right and legal but get one cease and desist letter and you have no choice but to cave because just taking a pee in a law office will cost you $150.

Got it for Christmas when it first came out. 1981???
I mastered it and probably lost part of my hearing as well.
I then installed a dial to lower the volume that also turned the sound completely off.
You can play it on MESS/MAME which faithfully recreates it in 4k Glory. -
I was 11 when the Atari 2600 came out.
ANYTHING that came along was brand new and exciting, stuff that can't be appreciated now with this generation of people.Hell, I thought the Atari 2600 Football was awesome because all I seen before that was Pong and the hand held games.
With that frame of mind you can understand why these games were so popular no matter what.
When Coleco and Intellivision came out is when things really started stirring up.

Once you play Star Raiders none of these other games matter.
I eventually got so good I could beat the highest level on both the A2600 and the A5200.-

Mad Magazine was outrageously expensive and that is why they failed in this era of digital media.
Even when it was somewhat cheap Me and my brother would just read it in the book store and fold the last page to look at the picture.
You could probably download every issue at this point but what I would really like to see is the entire Farside series in digital format. -
Here I thought I was the only one being smart.
Instead of buying brand new cases I just recycle old Coleco Carts in lots and try to make the best deals possible.
I go through what has the worst cases as far as labels and set the good ones aside.
I just picked up some 25 Donkey Kong with the labels literally falling off for around $30.
So one trip into the dish washer and they are brand new for my own projects.

First I created an account and then my own kids would not friend me because they didn't want dad playing their world.
Once they did I played for about 30 minutes and never played again.
I found the entire game one of the most boring thing ever created.
I guess I got spoiled with Fallout and Skyrim. -
53 minutes ago, carlsson said:Yes. Terms such as obscure, rare, desirable, valuable etc are mutually exclusive. In particular on the computer side where there were hundreds and sometimes thousands of games released, many by smaller publishers as mail order or locally, barely anyone knows about them and much less they stir an interest of acquiring them. At the same time, some of the best known and fairly common games maintain a decent value, things like SMB3 if I'm not mistaken.
I just went over a 3 Coleco cartridge deal that they want something like $30 a piece and when you look at all their other sales they turn out to be some thrift store with zero idea of what they have.
I had an argument with a manager of my local Good Will that wants to see any game system for $40 regardless of what they are.
A WII, PS3, PS2, PS1 and an XBox Classic are all priced the same and they sell each piece separate so if you want controllers and software you are paying even more.
The best sales are yard sales but ultimately we are losing out because here in Florida it is "LAW" that all electronics, TV's and what not have to be recycled and some thrift stores no longer take old computers which go in the trash.
That means Power Macs, Coleco ADAMS and Commodore Amiga's get tossed unless it goes on EBAY. -
I was just on EBay with *******.
He had like 5 different Coleco sales going on.
I offered to buy every single Coleco item he had just come up with a number.
This went back and forth then we came up with a number of around $3 a cartridge for some 64 cartridges where most of them he bought for $1 because the stickers were still on some of them. Tripling his investment.
His ultimate backing out was because I told him I want EVERY single cartridge he had including his so called "rare" ones which was Jungle Hunt and Star Trek.
100% of his cartridges where not only the most common with duplicates but are loose, no manual, some bad labels, no boxes.
Jungle Hunt and Star Trek are not rare but don't tell him that.
He thinks he has a gold mine and to this day he is still trying to sell them.
I have a similar story with someone who wants to sell like 11 Donkey Kong cartridges in bad shape but despite having make an offer in their description refuses to take any offer unless it is what they are asking. I made an offer 4 months ago and yesterday...
Someone told them that a computer that broke all the time and brought down a successful 56 year old company was actually worth something despite being able to burn your own carts and every single cart known to man is online as well as print your own labels and boxes.
I can understand Mint, in Box, CIB, Great Labels, Manuals but lose garbage that you find at Good Will or a yard sale is not gold. -
That reminds me about the time I went to the Bunny Ranch and got a non working, four switch Woody for $50

Another reason why the Atari 5200 was far better than the reviews on Youtube.
The same reviews from today's generation just trying to make a buck.
The A5200 ROCKED in my opinion and I had several over the years and is still my favorite of the series. -
I've turned over Mr. Do and Q-Bert Arcade versions at Bally's Alladin Castle 163rd Street Mall when it existed.
I finished Dragons Lair with the highest possible score...
NONE of it has improved my life, found me a job or gotten me laid.
Once I grew up and joined the military is when things started happening.-

After a couple of years I appealed the Mortgage company to drop the escrow and I paid my insurance and taxes on my timetable and using the extra money to pay off my mortgage.
Now after a few more years our mortgage was paid off and we get to keep every damn cent we make outside of the yearly taxes.
There is really no need for homeowners insurance either.
There is nothing outside of the entire house burning down that I can't repair and it's been here for over 30 years so I doubt if nature is going to take it.
Pay off your house. They tell you not to because they want you to give them money for the next 30 years. We ended up saving over $100K in interest that would have gone to some other ass's pocket.
We will live rent free till the end of days.
Every extra cent, no entertain, old underwear, no new car, no eating out... Trust when I say it is great being debt free. -
What has always bothered me about this game is that when I played it it was on the Colecovision and when I defended MY system of choice this damn game was missing sounds.
I am not talking about Obi-Wan or speech...just a simple and random R2D2.This and the controls suck on home systems.
Without the yoke stick the game is almost unplayable.
And that was my 2 cents.
