All of the ones I received were gold label w/gold instructions and inserts, Except Mountain King that was silver label no insert w/white instructions! These were worth every penny. Thanks again Pixelboy & Ozma Wars
Got mine today and it sounds like mine are the same as most who ordered! Mountain King was silver label with sheet instructions and no box inserts. Remaining 4 had gold labels and instructions with box inserts. Thanks to Luc and Ozma for making this happen!

Also too, Atari botched the releases of the 2600 add-on and the trackball. This fumbling allowed Coleco to get their peripherals out ahead of the 5200's. Thus, losing many customers to the colecovision. Very poor marketing by Atari back in the 80's...

I recall, at the beginning of the great video game crash, the 5200 was about to overtake the cv as far as sales goes. Had they stuck it out, n released Tempest, Track n Field, Millipede, Battlezone, etc, who knows what might of happened...

The YELLOW box was the original box used by Sunrise Software for all their releases in 1983 (Campaign '84, Gust Buster, Rolloverture and Quest for Quintana Roo). Later, they went with the SILVER box and when Mountain King was released in 1984, it got the SILVER box treatment as they started using the silver boxes for multiple systems and added a sticker to identify the system it was for. Of course, all the earlier games got the SILVER box treatment as well once the YELLOW boxes were all used up... so there would of course have been some overlapping that would confuse the whole issue.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
If someone can show me an ad or other verifiable proof that the yellow boxes were first, I'll change my tune and eat crow. But when you look at companies like Classic Game Source still selling yellow boxes, and mind you they are fresh and minty with no yellowing-- odd for a box 25 years old-- to me it seems pretty obvious which ones are the most current releases. Top that with the ad I posted, and Max's assertion that the cases of silver games themselves are verified shipping dates from 1984, I still stand by my opinion that the silver boxes were first. I'll also concede that it is possible that they started with yellow, went to silver, and then back to yellow-- but I'm convinced that the plethora of yellow box games available today (ebay and other sources) are produced AFTER the silver boxes. But again, I've yet to see PROOF either way.
All I can go on is personal experience. I was 15 at the time and when the first four Sunrise games were released through the 1983 calendar year and I bought them, the boxes were yellow and the labels of the carts were gold in color. I actually never had a chance to buy Mountain King where I lived (surprising for a big city) and didn't come across this one until a number of years later. When I saw the silver box and grey label, I assumed this was a TeleGames re-release... which it wasn't.

It is disheartening to see all of the petty arguing that has transpired in this thread. What bothers me even more is all of the upvoting of what are basically troll posts, which in my mind would only inspire the culprits responsible to make more
.We all need therapy, lol...

thank you.Whatever way you look at it, this attitude of secrecy is certainly not attracting customers or developers.
Ok, youve been vindicated, we hear your point... Wait until its released then you can pass judgement at that point and time. Always one in a crowd...

I'm not acting any way towards Mark. I'm discussing the fact that there haven't been barely any game announcements. Mark chooses to reply to that by getting defensive and rolling his eyes, that's his choice. I'm not attacking him or anyone else.
Youve stated your displeasure numerous times now? It gets annoying hearing the same whining over and over again. Why continuously ask the same question over and over again when you know the answer? Wait till it comes out, then decide if you wanna buy one... Ive purchased one and am happy with its progress up to this point. Your complaining does nothing but discourage those working on this project. I would roll my eyes too being asked the same thing 50 times...

My opinion: disappointing...
I have somewhere between 30 and 40 carts in my collection and there are really only a handful that get me remotely interested in playing it: Sinistar, Pole Position, Berzerk, Centipede and Qix.
Space Invaders is "blah," Gorf is a joke and Galaxian falls well short of what "could have been." Everything else in my collection just seems average.
Seems average, lmao? Maybe Im biased since Ive had my 5200 since '82? The new releases: Adventure 2, Beef Drop, Sinistar, Tempest soon... All the A8 conversions? The protos that have been released? Wow, Im confused...

I've seen a Colecovision Mario Bros. over $1000 also, lol. Do these sellers honestly think they can have an unsuspecting buyer come buy and say I will buy that no matter the cost? Gotta love Ebay...
