Maybe if you put the things you are looking for...that might help. -
MattG: unless you have handled as many prototypes as I have post Atari/Coleco/Intellivision, you are not qualified to make that statement. Those games I received came with EPROMS normally, final versions for those systems do not have them unless they are unlicensed games..On top of that, there were slight text changes and gameplay changes. It was common for some companies to send out games with full on production labels for NES/SNES/Genesis. Like I said before, I do not pretend to know about older prototypes than NES, but I have far more experience when it comes to NES, Game Boy, Genesis, SNES, Game Gear, etc.
-
Tempest: Thanks, I just figured with a shoddy label that was different, and EPROMS inside, it was something good, ah well.....
-
Mattg/Snyper: Negative. I have three or four NES and Genesis and SNES prototypes that had full on labels when sent to magazines for review. I'm glad SOMEONE has a monogrammed one then, bnut if you would have just all paid attention to the auction, I did not claim anything silly in there.

I'm interested in buying it. -
video game addict: I missed your post until now, that's as much as I know aboutt he cart. I asked some collectors about it, but they told me that it should have production ROM chips, I asked a couple of prominent Atari collectors about this before I put it up on eBay. If I was trying to rip anyone off, I would not have a $9.99 starting bid, but everything in that auction is as much as I know about the cart. Also, I answered a response about if the letters blew up from someone already and that is on record in the description.

Tempest, I'm not about to berate you in a public forum, but you do realize I placed a question mark at the end of the monogrammed portion of the auction, and explained in detail that I do not know much about 2600 stuff, but I do know it is a prototype, and I also have been made aware that no copies of the monogrammed version have surfaced. So wouldn't it be safe to say it is is purely hearsay abotu what happens with the letters in the game? Probably not, but I distinctly placed that moniker on the end of the auction because for one thing, it's a production label, but smoother and slicker than normal Apollo labels. I don't even know why I am explaining this to you, it's in plain English in the auction description when I say I HAVE NO IDEA. Also, you really think I am a "scammer"? You checked out my feedback? Or the other items I have sold? You know I have probably dealt with as many cartridge prototypes for newer systems or even MORE if you count disks than you? I must be trying to scam someone out of a $9.99 starting bid and a $125 BIN or something then. I admit you know a lot more about 2600 stuff than I do. But the fact is, it IS a prototype, and if no one has come up with a monogrammed version yet, and low and behold it might be dug somewhere in this data, who the heck knows?

The Mega Man games are not as hard as you would think finding them boxed. I've come across numerous ones more than once on eBay (including V). SOme of the ridiculous GB games to find boxes for are for common, crappy titles, or ATLUS games.

Congrats Megamanfan... It's pretty well-known there are a few others who have completed NES collections as well. I completed mine back in 2002, and my last game was Challenge of the Dragon. I picked up the gold & gray NWCs BEFORE any of this mess started happening with what needs to be a part of a complete collection. At the very least, I know portnoyd and jhd7 off the top of my head had completed NES collections around the same time I did. I'm currently trying to obtain complete collections for many systems, and have already finished off SMS, TG16/Duo, 32X/Sega CD, VBOY, Intellivision, Neo-Geo Cart, Dreamcast, Atari Jaguar/JAG CD, N64, Neo Geo Pocket, Vectrex, Astrocade, and am missing only a couple of games for 3DO, 1 game for Saturn, and a handful for Genesis, SNES, and Atari 7800. It's not easy, but you can definitell obtain all sorts of stuff when you put your mind to it! I'm trying to obtain a complete BOXED collection of GB and GBC games, which is pretty damned tough.
