Don‘t worry, currently I disabled the auto start function and use my own compiled XB mega menu with RXB. This is working with the HRD4000 Ramdisks I configured today. Next I will test to assemble and compiling with small c and turbo pascal 99 with ramdisk access. I guess this will be a little faster then with the tipi. And I will get more familiar with the HRD4000 Rambo functionality. There is still a lot to discover. Thank you for your help.

What do you mean about GROM or GROM base? I never changed anything about GROMs.

I‘m loading RXB from a FG99. If I load XB or XB2.6 from the FG99 these XB‘s are working. I tried to run a XB program with the auto start Funktion and this is also not working when I have selected the RXB2015 cartridge. Only for information: I also have tested BOOT with the same results.

Oh, yes, I have overseen this message and your question too. Yes, I have Excel on my PC and I can use it. I also have Multiplan on my TI, but with 40 characters only it is a little bit tedious to use.

Hi, As of today, I am the proud owner of an HRD4000B Ramdisk card. I read the manual completely and still destroyed my configuration when I set up the card. Maybe it helps others or Tim can do something about the next update here: My problem: I started the configuration and I am in the EDIT menu for setting up the background color and foreground color. I only changed the foreground color from 16 = white to 1 = transparent. My input was 1 and spacebar. >>> That's it with the screen display! <<< After a complete reset (remove the battery) and set up the ramdisks everything worked again. Then I set up the menu program and leave it start automatically. It works as it should for now, I think. Now for my second problem with MENU739C: I mostly use RXB 2015 for my Extended Basic working. However, the menu program does not recognize this. With menu item C (RXB 2015) I get into the XB, but a "SYNTAX ERROR" is output. After that I can continue working normally. My problem is, however, if I want to start an XB program via the menu, then it does not work, there is only an error message "No EX-Basic ..." because the menu does not know RXB. With the original TI XB or XB 2.6 there are no problems. Perhaps this can be corrected as part of a next revision? All in all, the HRD4000B Ramdisk card is an excellent and very useful extension for my TI. The computer responds super quickly when a program is loaded from the ramdisk, and I have a lot of space on the ramdisk. Working together with my TIPI / RPi card also works without any problems. That sounds very good. "New features for AFTER HOURS". But please take your time, the project is a hobby and should not cause any stress. Perhaps we can extend a function "Read Topics" for the messaging menu to show the user an overview of the messages with date and name of the author. A kind of table of contents for the message category to quickly find an older message.

Hi Beery, Your example about the data library shows good for me for 40 and for 80 character mode. In 64 character mode there is a word wrap but readable. Today I was testing some templates of data libraries, but the result is not optimal. The zip file contains my example for the TEXTXL download list. The file is a text file with 80 characters and therefore optimal for the 80 character mode. I think it is also readable with 40 and 64 characters. You can see it on my BBS. Hi, I saw this game not long ago on a Turbo Pascal Disk as a conversion to Turbo Pascal 99. Inspired by Jrhode's translation, I translated the Turbo Pascal version completely into English and posted it in the tp99 Challenge forum on post #79.

Hi again, this is the game EIMERKETTE (Bucket Chain) converted from BASIC to Turbo Pascal 99 by Manfred Kraus. The original program is from a German magazine "Computer Praxis Nr 6/84" from page 66. In the readme file on the dsk image Manfred Kraus explains the convertion tricks he used. Today I translated the game to english and here it is: EIMERKETTE.dsk To run the game you need the EA cartridge or the Turbo Pascal Linker program. You can use the EA option 5 RUN PROGRAM FILE: "DSK1.EIMER1" It runs on real hardware and on classic99 (maybe on all emulators, but that i didn't test). The disk contains the source files, all the link libraries and the program image files "EIMER1, EIMER2, EIMER3, EIMER4" To run the program it is also necessary to have the file RUNLIB on DSK1. This game is also in the XB version in the GameBase and you can find some hints in the following AA link: Have fun!

TeraTerm you can also use for serial connection to a RS232 modem or to the UDS10 modem.

Hi Beery, today I tried some configurations with the Windows Terminal/Telnet program TeraTerm. I made the following changes in the TERATERM.ini file: ; Binary flag for Send File (on/off) TransBin=on : : ; XMODEM option (checksum/crc/1k) XmodemOpt=checksum ; Binary flag for XMODEM Receive and ZMODEM Send (on/off) XmodemBin=on The file download now works with TeraTerm. So we have a Telnet program for Windows that can do the file transfer with the TI-99/4A and the After Hours BBS. For the Download I choosed "Checksum" and "Binary"!

@BeeryMiller Hi Beery, I have consolidated all text files for my TBOX99 BBS so that I can read them in 40, 64 and 80 characters per line. I have also added the German text with the conditional assembly to the BBS-TBOX file. More files I will work on in the next few days. If you work at the BBS; it should be possible to cancel a large text file while reading and go to the main menu. The manual says that this is possible with ^ C, but it doesn't work. I think this should be built into the query "Press any key to continue". The query should then be supplemented accordingly: for example: "Press any key to continue (or ^ C for abort / menu)" AHTEXT.zip My text files and the BBS-TBOX source file.

Today my TI console for the BBS broke. It showed no power and no picture. I changed the power supply and got a picture for a few seconds, then the second power supply went wrong. It smelled strongly of electricity. It was a beige QI 1981 model without much heating at the cartridge slot. Now I'm using my first black and silver model. I hope I can run it for 25/7 hours. In the next few days I will try to repair the beige model and the two broken power supplies. @BeeryMiller My TBOX BBS system is up and running with the new software version. So you can see the error if you will see it. EDITED: It's working now!🙂

Hi Beery, I am using the last version of the TBOX BBS from yesterday. EDITED: All is working fine, I did not provide the menu text files T6XTMM, T8XTMM, T6XTMB and T8XTMB in the folder "AFTER". In 40 column mode all works as it should.🙂 In 64 column mode and in 80 column mode I can make a login with my user # or I can choose a new user. But after the login and after the welcome screen, before the main menu should be displayed, the error message appears and the connection is disconnected. ======================== A fatal *DSR* error has occured. Aborting to top of the program, sorry. ======================== If I login in 40 column mode and change the width, after pressing the "C" item and chose 80 or 64 columns the same error message is displayed and the connection is lost. I have all the textfile in the AFTER folder, but only copied the original files to the new names (T6..., T8...). During the day I will change the files to the new line length, but I think this is not the reason of the fatal DSR error.

Today I was testing filetransfer with MXT (tipi system 1) from the BBS (tipi system2) I selected the phonebook "PHONE1" to use from DSK1. Press "I" to toggle the IAC to IAC=OFF With "A" the phonebook displays the available entries. Select "E" for the TBOX99 BBS Login to the BBS wit user # and password On the main menu press "F" for file transfer Then "D" for download Enter the file name to download e.g. EDIT40 ** The BBS shows ready for transfer ** Press FCTN 7 for display MXT menu Press "X" for xmodem filetransfer Enter Filename: DSK1.EDIT40 Chose "1" for CRC check Choose R for receive The BBS shows the number of Records, Sectors and maybe retrieves When complete the system make a beep and with ENTER You will go to the BBS main menu Thats easy! I tested Download and Upload with more than ten different files and even with the 235 sector file "SCR-ARK" and it was working without errors and without a retrieve. For tipi users the combination of the AFTER HOURS BBS system and the MXT mass transfer program is realy ideal. Now I have to look how I can disable the IAC protocol in the Terra Term program on my PC. If this is possible, anybody can access the BBS from a PC and make Downloads or Uploads. Maybe there are other Terminal programs with the xmodem protokoll and they can handle the IAC?

@BeeryMiller The 8k RAM E/A cartridge is no problem for me, I have two of those. But can you also use the lower RAM in the TI? I was reading yesterday in the GenLink manual the Linker can use it with the BLOCK directive?

Yes I have an E/A cartridge with 8k ram. I can use it for the BBS.
