  1. This is an excellent condition 2600 Vader. I bought it from Best Electronics for a pretty penny several years ago. The console works great. It has an upgraded rf cable that I bought from Best separately and a Best dust cover. It will also come with a power supply (Atari brand) and a brand new Atari 2600 power supply (sealed). If you want a personal machine that you know will work, this is it.

  2. You can get the Wico TRS80 adaptor. It has decent length cables and would be an extender. It lets you use Atari joysticks on the CoCo. It is somewhat rare, but it works well (except it only has one button and a few games are better with the analog CoCo sticks). I leave the Wico connected and it functions just like extension cables.

  3. I rechecked everything and it was the tv. It was too the left on the monitor, but this was by chance and easily adjusted on a Commodore monitor. The tv screen was starting to go, as it got worse and then the whole picture started to lean upward. Just wanted to repost to say it was not the Best electronics mod, which I really like.

  4. I just got a 7800 from the Marketplace here. It is from Best Electronics, a/v modded with the Euro OS upgrade. It works and looks great. But, the picture from the 7800 on my television is slightly to the right (about 1/4-1/2 inch). This must be the console or the upgrade in that other consoles don't do it on the television and the 7800 also does it on a monitor. I can adjust to counter this on the monitor, but not the television. It isn't a big deal, but is there a way to make a horizontal adjustment on the 7800? Anyone else's system or mod do this?

  5. Donkey Kong and Pac-Dude 3D require 512k and these alone are worth it. They both work on DriveWire. Tempest, did use DriveWire when you had the CoCo before? It has made a huge difference for me. It's like having a 255 slot flashcart multicart. I even have wireless dongles for it, so there is no cord. Ninja and AtariLeaf were really helpful getting me set-up. I also have the 1084s monitor and the CoCo looks amazing on it. This is not the CoCo1 I had as a teen playing the mostly crappy cartridge games ;-).

  6. The front joystick cover on my 2 port cracked. This is the piece in the very front covering the joystick inputs. It is shiny on the 4 port and matte on the 2 port, I then tried to take it off to fix it and I messed it up even more. I don't advise ever taking that piece off. I don't see how you can remove it without snapping the little hooks that hold it in place. If someone has done so, please advise for the future. I have a well-used 4 port and I cleaned up this piece as best as possible and put it on my 2 port. It looks a bit odd with a 4 port front on a 2 port, but it will do. Thus, advice from a 5200 fan, be careful with that piece. Best Electronics doesn't have them in stock and you will spend money and time trying to find a decent replacement.
